Phalinex, the state of NJ has mandated training hours including the usage of the helicopter and Christie was obligated to use those hours. Before Christie became governor, NJ had one of the highest per capita incomes and one of the top three public school systems in the US. ahh.. okay, after all this blabbering what have we learned about his agenda? Cut taxes? ... ok, sure.. but how do you address the issues that happens as a result?
Let's say we cut financial assistance for single moms and dads. Now the crime rate goes up, so you have to have more cops. Then you have to pay to jail them. All very expensive.. OR we pay the mother while her kid goes on to college and a good job, so we can tax him for the help we gave him. This guy doesn't provide ANY answer here.

Christie wants to cut taxes so he can have more money in his pocket. Then he takes the money out of his pocket and buys pies, doughnuts, McDonalds, candy, bacon, chips, Little Debbie, and other junk food. He likes junk food and wants more money to buy more junk food.

Christie is morbidly obese. If taxes were lower on his government job (governor) he could have more money in his paycheck to buy things like cupcakes, Oreos, Baconators, Chalupas, and Krispy Kremes. @CaptainPriceLives Christie and Walker are not cleaning up any mess. They are adding to it. This mess that they purportedly are cleaning up is the remnants of the previous republican administration that drove the economy into the ditch. Where are the jobs? If the republican strategy worked, then why was there a NET LOSS of jobs created under Bush? The economy tanked because of republican policies, and now they want to harm the middle class even more. You're wrong about Christie, Walker & others.

How many republicans went to congress and pleaded with them to audit Fannie and Freddy, and who stood in their way?? Democrats. The claimed racism and threw every other negative attack you can imagine at the Republicans. I sat there and watched as Barnie Frank claimed that everything was A-OK and accused republicans of wanting to deny housing to low income applicants. What a joke.

George Bush spent deficit money in his last three years by outrageous amounts, which is not and never will be the Republican strategy. That's why he tanked the economy. Chris Christie has economically saved NJ, and that's a fact no one can ignore.

@CaptainPriceLives Surprisingly the greater percentage of NJ voters don't agree with you. Imagine that. Could it be the percentage that took a beating from his tough stand against public sector workers? Those workers didn't cause NJ's problems, but they're the ones Christie blamed. Just like Walker in WI, who probably should enjoy his ONLY term as govenor. And, from what I've read, Christie pulled the plug on many programs that create jobs to save money. How can you be fiscally smart and stupid?

@sep0507 Cutting programs to create jobs and save money isn't stupid. It's what the majority of states, and this country, are going to need to do if they want to succeed the way they used to. If we keep all the programs we have now, the debt will only get bigger. And jobs are the single most important thing, so cutting programs to get them is a worthy cause.

@sep0507 He didn't create jobs by cutting programs. The jobs lost because of his failure to proceed with the NJ - NY tunnel project WASTED taxpayer dollars. Every study done shows that Christie, through his arrogance and tough talk, cost NJ thousands of new jobs. His recent helicopter ride is further proof of his arrogance. Maybe if he wasn't so fat he could've walked the 100 yards to the ball field? You give him credit, I say give me a break! He talks tough while he abuses his power.

@sep0507 And the whole point of this speech is that deficit reduction is not going to popular if you listen to it. Sometimes what's needed isn't popular. So I could care less about if the majority of people don't like him, when you look at the numbers, you can't deny the result.

@CaptainPriceLives And the whole point of Christie is ensuring there will be NO shared sacrifice with the wealthiest of those in NJ. He's cutting medicaide so far that a family of three earning $103 doolars a week will no longer qualify. I suppose his cutting funding for those in need will be offset by the rise in crime committed by those same people. His deficit reduction is not very well thouight out. It is a knee jerk response at best. Haven't seen ANY results so far, just those promised ones

Let's do some math..If 6,500 teachers have retired in 2010, and they all get FREE healthcare at $22,000 per family coverage PER year and they live at least 10 years after retirement, that's $1,430,000,000! And that's only for that crowd that retired! There are approx 88,000 public school teachers in NJ...do the similar math to understand how much NJ taxpayers are on the hook for...

money men at AIG, Lehman, etc. make off with billions and nearly bring down the financial system. The GOP has an insatiable desire to give tax breaks to the very richest. Now there's a budget deficit and someone must be scapegoated. Who will it be? The executives that caused the problems, whose bonuses have reached record levels? NO. let's punish and demonize those who are less important, like teachers.
A successful showman can turn things on their head and become a star in GOP land.
