@skyman214 i was actually coming to defense of the cover, not like i had to. i was addressing tommy's comment in which he talked about rhcp sounding "like a bunch of beginners" when covering the ramones. the point that i was making without going in too deep was as a true ramones fan, i appreciate the skills of rhcp because i am a true fan of theirs as well. i considered them a "good fucking band." i love this cover! btw, covers don't always need to sound completely different from the original.

@ArgyleDevil of course the ramones sounded like they had it together... but the punk movement had a "fuck it" mentality behind it. punks played what they felt, like every other great musicians but unlike others performing in different genres, punks didn't need a versatile range of skills to produce the sounds they created. they grabbed a guitar, a bass, a drum kit, a mic or whatever & went at it.

As a TRUE RAMONES fan I gotta say this kills me!! I have the Johnny Ramone tribute DVD and the RHCP play a Ramones set like a bunch of beginners! I don't think that they downstroked on one song. The drummer sucks too, haha! Im sure they have video clips of it on here somewhere.
