from an american i am damn happy for all you guys in manitoba to get an nhl team back. i hope they end up calling this team the Jets. and I also hope that the Nordiques return to Quebec City. it's a tragedy that there are teams in garbage markets like Phoenix, Miami, and Nashville and yet there is no team in Quebec to challenge Montreal in a real rivalry

Its nice but I still can't see the Jets coming back. I want it too but, there are logistics that the NHL might deem Winnipeg undeserving of a team again. I know, it hurts. Cleveland only had one for 2 years and I still think I could argue a case to get one back in the 216.
The only real response i have to that is to ask if you know how close we were last year? Their was a press conference set at the MTS Centre to announce the return of the Jets, it was contingent on Glendale not covering 25million in loses, no one thought they would, in the end they did. This year things are looking even worse in the desert, as far as i'm concerned it's a dead as a post all we need is an announcement. Just gotta believe! :P

When the Oilers ran into money problems, edmontonians and albertans, came up with the cash to bail out their club. In winnipeg, and manitoba, nobody with the big cash came to the fore to help. The Richardsons and Aspers, who are both wealthy, looked on as the jets left for Phoenix. Other rich people in winnipeg and manitoba, did the same, spending their money at the cottage instead.
