  • Thank you very much indeed for posting this soundtrack sumiregusa23. It is wonderfully appreciated.

  • Does anybody know which instrument is being used here?

  • @skyflynite correct me if I'm wrong but is it not a harpsicord?

  • So fascinating !

  • thank God I am part of this alien group of people who long for such beautiful art.

  • This movie makes me want to write and write and write poetry. It gives me such pure inspiration. I can feel the sting of loves pure longing in this movie and it makes me cry every time.

  • I have to AGREE. Every single time I watch that part I cry. I have never in my life seen crying in a movie that made my heart hurt or make me feel like the person heart was really breaking. I love this movie so much

  • listen from 0;30 sorry on the actually song from russell, not this song.

  • I love this film but is it me or has bradshaw lifted the melody from arthur russells Lets go swimming song....listen from 0:30

  • I love the amount of soulfulness portrayed in this film.... I felt like it was so human through its connection with nature, the relationships and emotions it demonstrated.... There is something so touching about "Bright Star."

  • Every note, every word recited here, unlocks a memory. I close my eyes and let them all flood back so that for just this passing moment I can lose myself in them. I feel like I'm being carried across time....

  • I just... this movie was beyond words. The actor Ben Whishaw played his part wonderfully.

  • I hate that he died believing that he was a failure when he was actually incredibly brilliant

  • Can anyone tell me the piece of music in 'Convulsion'? thanks

  • That's the most beautiful quote I've heard in my life

  • I looooove 0:50- 3:40 in particular :)

  • I hate to see movies for the second time, but this movie I could watch over and over again. Never get sick of it, It's my favourite movie and everytime I see it I cry..

  • i was so moved by this movie when i first saw it. i was 10 years old. i am now 12 and i still cry when i listen to the soundtrack. the most moving part is from 2:15-3:50. if you watch it in the film, the are playing freeze tag with fanny's little sister. i think this piece represents the on-going-ness of time and the pulse of love and life. there is a lot of feeling contained in that small amount of time. very moving. (little secret: i had a huge crush on ben w. and was sad he died. sensitive!!

  • I didn't care for the movie too much but the soundtrack is amazing. Easily the most memorable part of the film.

  • I love the music of the movie and the actor who play John Keats is brilliant

  • WOW!! This is really beautiful music. It relexes you and makes you stop and think and appreciate life real. :D

  • I saw the place where Keats died when I was in Rome two years ago, so when Mum and I went to see Bright Star (before we went inside the cinema) I was constantly telling her that he was the poet whose plaque we saw. Now I'm someone who loves to be right, and absolutely hates to be wrong, but half-way through the movie I was hoping so much that I was wrong. I didn't want him to die :'(

  • Cried more than I did for Titanic. This movie was amazing. 0.0 I write my own stories, always with romance so this was so inspirational.

And to think its based of a true, real romance. Keats is simply amazing and a very sad case.

  • @pariskissz Very Well Said!! Thumbs Up :)

  • Keats is my hero and now I have quite fallen for Ben Whishaw.. well it's more that I actually want to be him. The soundtrack is so wonderful. To me it fills me with the essence of love, imagination, beauty, truth which, in the end, were the most important things to Keats. Perfection!

  • I never get tired of hearing this portion of the soundtrack. The music somehow always keeps me entranced.

  • Human Orchestra: 4:54

  • beautiful.

  • NeonNomad I agree with you whole heartedly. Driving home after seeing this film I had to pull over and just think about what I had just seen, and how vacuous our lives can be sometimes. If we let it! The power to make a life meaningful is totally our own.

  • Gostei do teu comentário, partilho o mesmo sentimento...és Especial...

  • I just loved your comment ... because I had the same feeling, you must be special ...

  • This movie was my favourite of this year. So beautiful , just like a dream.............and Ben's voice so adorable!!!!!!!!

  • Is there a sound track with just the music and not them talking throughout it?

  • ...I love the line ...its about being in the lake

    .....just be in "it"

  • I don't think I've ever cried so hard for a film in my life. Such a beautiful, tragic story.

  • This movie, song and speech gives me the chills, still. It so beautifully touches me and the inards of my heart, I can't help but wonder how Jane Campion and the writers did it. Lovely job, lovely work of art.

  • hearing it over and over and over (:

  • Haven't seen this yet but the soundtrack seems wonderful. I can't wait!

  • Thank you so much for this! Bright Star is my favorite film from last year, and did not get enough recognition!

Bio-pics (especially about the Romantics) are difficult because the characters often don't seem like real people, but this film, beautifully supported by the music, is realistic, and yet passionately exaggerated: a perfect combination for the people and the era!

  • It is unfortunate that today's society cannot appreciate such a quiet and mysteriously beautiful movie, but it makes it that more of a treat to those who can truly thrive from such beauty.

  • I do feel like this movie deserved a lot more recognition. But it's still a work of art, and I guess we can hang on to that.

After seeing it I bought John Keats's Complete Works. I read something from it every day...

  • it's an amazing film, amazing soundtrack and good cinematography, but it wasnt a good film because the story was very weak towards the end . But it's good , I love the soundtrack and I think it's a good comeback. Unfortunately , it didnt deliver as much as The piano for instance

  • @abimorella But I actually like that "nothing happens" in the last part of the film, I can just feel closer to the characters and understand their relationship better. And I haven't seen The Piano, that's by Jane Campion too, right? Is it good?

  • @thibautadavy

I can agree with you totally! To me the film was simply perfect...more so because you could feel that they were striving to make it a work of art as compared to simply a show. That's why "nothing happened". I am glad! It shows us the pureness, the poetry of there feelings.

  • @thibautadavy " The Piano " isn't good.. it is wonderful! ^^

  • @misslacuvee

Indeed my friend the world needs more of dreamy and heart felt melodies and poetry like this, far away from random explosions and strange sex, the world needs this, culture and a good ear.

  • This movie was under-appreciated.

  • Where did you find this soundtrack?! :O

And they call the first part "Negative Capability." OMG. We just talked about that in English class today. Beauty must be appreciated even in its mystery, although it there is some part that can never be intellectually understood.

The music fits Keats' theory so well.

  • Mozart Serenade No 10 In B Flat Major K 361 III Adagio ...

  • My heart shivers at these beautiful words... And my mind travels to other times and other places... The music floads my mind and all I can do is let it in, enjoy its beauty and melancholy.

  • Beautiful, thanks so much for sharing this, you are brilliant.

  • Excellent move. Jane Campion is an amazing story teller.

  • 4:45 Human Orchestra, my favorite!

It's actually from Mozart's Serenade in Bb, movement III, you should check it out...

  • @thibautadavy Thank you! (My favorite too ^_^)

  • This song is GorGeous!

  • ugh... this is ridiculously beautiful, i love it so much

  • Love Jane Campion...Just a perfect Film Director. I wish I could one day work with her. ^^ The music is inspiring.

  • fantastico!!

  • 4:55 is just perfect ! Love that move that movie so much.

  • I love the a capella rendering pf Mozart's Seranade For Winds.

  • anybody have this soundtrack in mp3 format?

  • The Star shoots to DVD January 26, 2010.

  • When I read the work of Keats, I felt a stir within me that felt as if i saw life in a whole new way. Now, with this film and this music, I feel a bit reawakened somehow.

  • I think the photo, the environment and the music was the best. The dialogue was a little too sensible for me, yet beautiful.

  • I'm absolutely speechless. This is just beautiful.

  • We studied Keats in my Romantic Age class and I just fell in love with his poetry and really appreciated his talent more than I did when I had studied him before. Keats really was a genius, what other 23 yr old could think up a concept like negative capabilty? Brilliant man and poet!

  • The film left me speech less, beautiful poetry, imagery, and performances. I cannot help but think I am missing something in my own life after seeing this.

  • I agree, tell me about it. This movie is so beautiful, I am so fascinated with John Keats.

  • @NeonNomad Exactly my thoughts. I think that my being an English major really has completed me somehow. I don't know, but I totally agree...beautiful film, absolutely stunning.

  • @NeonNomad

    I simply agree.

  • @NeonNomad

thats definetly what i thought after i've seen this beautiful movie, i just have to cry after every word keats say to fanny because it has given me kind of a feeling, like everything in our world and time have to be fast and easy to explain, nearly nobody would like to accept that love is something you couldn't say in a text message in 160 signs...

i like the thought that there are other people who think nearly the same...

  • @Fanatico9 There are because I feel the same way. Feeling love, not just saying it.

  • I cried so much at the end of the movie. Especially when Fanny recites 'Bright Star'. This was a very moving movie. Loved it, and the soundtrack ;)

  • I think she did amazinggggggggggggg! Her performance was spectacular, especially at the end when she finds out the news of Keats' death and she goes by the stairs, falls to the ground and cries. That was so brilliant, exactly how someone would react upon hearing their loved one died...i've never seen that reaction portrayed so well on film. LOVE IT.

  • so true! Can't believe she did not even get an Oscar nomination

  • @optimisticautiously I completely agree. The ending in particular when she learns of his death is so real, so raw...it breaks me up every time I see it. There's no words to describe how honest and truthful that scene was.

  • @TheMushroomRavioli i loved this movie too! i knew he was going to die, but i prayed he would live...when he died i was crying really hard and my little brother just says "gosh this is disgusting." needless to say we argued until he went to bed and the day after.lol.

  • HOW DID YOU GET THIS!!!???!!!

  • "A thing of beauty is a joy forever..." So is this movie. Very well done, family-friendly alternative to "The Piano." The music is beautiful, and the story is true and engrossing. The acting is pitch perfect.

  • hearing Fanny recite Bright Star breaks my heart...

  • thank you thank you thank you for posting the soundtrack!! finally! i get to listen to the whole thing. movie was great!

  • Thankyou so much for this!

  • LOVE it <3
