I understand your concern, but I just don't feel like a movie theater showing an expensive mass-produced film with typically action-movie actors like Nicholas Cage is a respectful setting for honoring the dead. At least when a person writes a book about it, they are describing their own personal experiences with real people, not a script that's acted out. And it's in their own words, not through the standard Hollywood conventions of storytelling.

And being in a huge theater with people munching on popcorn is not very intimate, advertisements and movie posters everywhere.

Like, If I died in a tragedy, I wouldn't want Hollywood making a huge movie out of it and have, like, Megan Fox or Julia Roberts playing me (the actors chosen are always better looking that the people they represent), and have millions of people paying to flock to theaters on a weekend to re-enact that horrible event on a big screen with special effects and a catchy soundtrack.

@matoushka Amm axuly survivors didnt want to get movie about it. But for hollywood This Huge Tragedy was a big chance to make a Oscar Nomination Movie. And they did it HE USED Skase23 Grandfather my Granfather (there was onther guys granfather but i dont remember nick) HE USED US ALLL. To make this damnit movie what i downloaded and watched 405 times. (Ok 2012 i watched over 2657 times but it doesnt mather). DAMNIT IM OUT OF CHARTERS AGAIN. I wud make biger drama but IM OUT OF CHARTERS ;( ;( ;(

I think it's horrifying that a movie was made about 9/11 (and with Nicholas Cage of all people!). This is just disaster porn, making profit out of a tragedy by exploiting people's emotions. How dare they commercialize a tragedy? Just like those "Remember 9/11" snowglobes and other cheap trinkets they sell in gift shops nowadays. Why not make a freaking 9/11 theme park while they're at it?

If I write a book about it. . . should the profit from the book be mine as well.. ? What if I videotaped all of it, but the first strike.. is that video mine.. is that not my experience too? I understand your concern, but I just don't feel like a movie theater showing an expensive mass-produced film with typically action-movie actors like Nicholas Cage is a respectful setting for honoring the dead. At least when a person writes a book about it, they are describing their own personal experiences with real people, not a script that's acted out. And it's in their own words, not through the standard Hollywood conventions of storytelling.

Anyone, and everyone that has made a paycheck from this tragedy... besides those firemen and first responders.. (of course, the officials that supervised). . Yes, but news reporters inform people, books provide analysis and are a very intimate personal experience--they don't rely on special effects and flashy drama to make their point. Hollywood films are entertainment-driven, they're associated with leisure and fun. They require a lot of money to make, so the aim is to have a huge profit margin. And being in a huge theater with people munching on popcorn is not very intimate, advertisements and movie posters everywhere.

Wow, it's the first having seen people outside from Germany who don't write bad things about a german movie-trailer...
However, I'm happy that Nicolas Cage is in the movie. They should make a movie in 2011 in my opinion. Let's hope that things like that never happen again, but we can't forecolse it.

You and I will never forget but it is so important to make sure future generations know. The hate that motivated the hijackers on that day still exists and until it is gone, everyone must realize the potential for this to happen again. Or worse.

pearl harbor was on an island in the pacific, this was in a major city, it's easier to grasp how terrible it was. And pearl harbo was over 50 years ago. there were crying moms then, not now. and this is way worse, not just a bombing, but humans hijacking planes and smashing into major buildings in front of civilians.

Als ich vor 5 Jahren zur Jugendfeuerwehr kam, haben wir den Film auch angeschaut. Die meisten mussten raus gehen, weil es einfach hart war. Wir haben naher lange über diesen Film und auch über diesen Tag geredet. Es war einfach nur Schlimm, den wir als Feuerwehrler hatten nur noch Tränen in den Augen...Es war sehr schlimm damals, für die Hilfskräfte wie Feuerwehr, Rettungsdienst und auch Polizei, aber auch für die Leute die dort Leben...
