people fail to notice that the scene was uncut and non-stop......when they first pass the window......you will see a rifle in the window first.....the same kind that was supposed to have been used by the boy. second pass is of course the boy. they try and say it is the cut out of jack in the window. but here it the problem.....the cut out is not that small........and how do you explain the fact that the rifle was in the window first lol

Im kinda disappointed i can't find a clip of the other scene with a ghost. I have it on VHS tape from recording it from pay per view. Its the scene where he's on the phone and passes by the window and there is a shotgun barrel up, passes by again an its the ghost boy, passes by the 3rd time and it's the shotgun butt up. i heard they edited that out before the release hence i got it recorded from pay per view.

This is a ghost....What happen was him and his mother lived in this apartment and he accidently shot him self with the gun..His mother moved and years watched this movie in the movie theater and was fulling around in her purse looked up and caught a glimps of her son and she was shocked ..So the woman went and rented the movie to see if what she saw were true and she saw him and did her research and to find out the movie was done in her old apartment.....

I remember sitting in this movie as a kid and i bough the video to prove what I saw. To this day I still believe it was real because in the 80's it was not an easy task like it is now with photoshop. When the actors was ask about it in the later months they knew nothing till fans started asking about it and they went back to look for themselves. They did say that it had been rumored that a child had died in that apartment and it was the only vacancy in the complex. Could be true or not.

And most of the sources are secondary sources which can't be as trusted as primary sources. Heck, even schools all over america strongly recommend not using it because it is highly unreliable. It's a life-sized cut-out of Jack and the scene that was originally explaining the origin of the cut-out was cut out (lol) of the movie and you can later see the entire cut-out when he's looking out of the window. so you see it's no ghost, just poor set decoration xD

im pretty sure this is real, as you can see they walk by, therees nothing there but when they walk by it again, you can see the boy in the window. they say it was a cut out? the cut out doesnt even look like that, look at the shirt. the cardboard it taller. plus why would they have a cut out of ted danson if hes actually in the scene. i seen the movie, its not a fucking cut out. video and cameras can pick up on things the human eye cant see.

Im kinda disappointed i can't find a clip of the other scene with a ghost. I have it on VHS tape from recording it from pay per view. Its the scene where he's on the phone and passes by the window and there is a shotgun barrel up, passes by again an its the ghost boy, passes by the 3rd time and it's the shotgun butt up. i heard they edited that out before the release hence i got it recorded from pay per view.

CARBOARD CUT-OUT OF TEN DANSON, MY ARRSSSEEE!!!!! One, that's abviously a boy standing there. Two, when the camera rolled by that window the first time, there was something there other than the boy (maybe a shotgun and maybe not, but there was something there other than the boy). What's weird is that the boy wasn't there in the first shot of that window, but then was there in the 2nd shot, but all in the same take........Strange.

It's not a ghost. it is a cardboard cutout of ted danson that appears later in the film. his character is a vain actor which is why he has a cutout of himself in his room, it is supposed to be from one of his films or something. the story of the apartment belonging to a couple who's child died is an urban myth. the apartment was a set built specially for the film.

This is a ghost....What happen was him and his mother lived in this apartment and he accidently shot him self with the gun..His mother moved and years watched this movie in the movie theater and was fulling around in her purse looked up and caught a glimps of her son and she was shocked ..So the woman went and rented the movie to see if what she saw were true and she saw him and did her research and to find out the movie was done in her old apartment.....

I remember sitting in this movie as a kid and i bough the video to prove what I saw. To this day I still believe it was real because in the 80's it was not an easy task like it is now with photoshop. When the actors was ask about it in the later months they knew nothing till fans started asking about it and they went back to look for themselves. They did say that it had been rumored that a child had died in that apartment and it was the only vacancy in the complex. Could be true or not.

Check out wikipedia - there was a scene with a cardboard cutout of one of the men but it was cut from the film...although the cardboard cutout appears in another scene in the background also lol.

It's the cardboard cut out of Ted Danson in the tuxedo and top hat. It's the way it's angled and with the curtains in front of it, add the blur of the camera motion and presto you have your ghost.
