  • People can say what they want about Greg, bur he is a sure entertainer....and he knows his Shit

  • i wish there were more videos of him talking about stuff like this

  • gregg i read the book and i have 2 questions

1.why so much machines?(im not against them i just started out im just asking)

    2.wheres the fucking deadlift?

3.i think i didnt read about forearm training.u dont train em directly?

  • More people who´s into bodybuilding or just like to lift weights should listen to this man. It´s not very often you hear someone telling you that you don´t have to lift heavy ass weights, or do this and that to grow bigger muscles. You just have to find out for yourself what works for you. Say what you want about Gregg, but he´s not talking out of his ass like many others.

  • Love the background music

  • 100% truth

  • Greg u say listen ur body etc but how will u find what works best 4 u?i mean there are 1000000 pre made programs and infinite ones u can think on urself.how u find out?i just started working out, n i think the most important 4 me is to lose fat(i have much to lose)n learn perfect form.i live in europe n i can tell u people dont know anything but weights.there is none who can teach me squats.i found only idiot people curling.how am i fucking supposed to proggres without the basics?

  • @kwstas67 live in europe too, there definitely are people who know their shit but you got to find them in the right gym ^^ if you wanna be really strong and big, you gotta train for yeaars, if not decades! experiment with how much volume works for you (maybe only 12 sets per workout or maybe your body responds better to 30 sets per workout) you can experiment with heavy weight and light weight, with rep ranges, with different exercices,... try one thing out for like 3 months and see if it works

  • @kwstas67 you might think 3 months is a lot, but youre suppossed to lift for years if you wanna be good, 3 months in a traing period of 10 years is nothing! and it's normal not to know much at the beginning, ive been training for 4-5 years and im still learning almost every day. do as much research as possible on weightlifting and nutrition, and you shouldnt look at pre made programs, thats what gregs telling you, you got find what works for YOU!

  • @MMAxJC i agree with everything u say mate .the problem is I CANT LEARN THE BASICS(SQUAT,DEADLIFT,OH PRESS,ROWS)the problem is not iim fat as shit neither im not strong.i have the guts to lose fat and build muscle. However i always fuck my back on squatsd n deadlifts.i videotape myself i stretch i ask people..I asked even olympic coaches n they say u need years to learn the deadlift(lol).Too bad cause my country(Greece) had some of the best o lifters in the world one time.

  • @kwstas67 Here, start off with this. Google "Stronglifts 5x5" on google. After you have done that program for about a year or longer if you want to get stronger, move to bodybuilding.c*m. Which is a website that will tell you everything you need to know about bodybuilding. Why I say to start with stronglifts, is that its going to put mass and very large amounts of strength on to your body which will be a great foundation to then start a bodybuilding style workout regimen.

  • im to the game n i have to lose wieght n also get my form right which i find extremely difficult cause everybody is like squats bad 4 knees etc n cant find serious guys anywhere to teach not sth extrem just the squat o press deadlift u know....the basics .how can i proceed i have no idea!

and when u say do what works 4 u.ok u r right but how i find out in the first place?what program to try?changing programs all time is a bit dum?send me a pm i would appreciate that!

  • i disagree with him, i learn alot from the workout dvds i have.

  • Important Highlights of this video

    1.) Know your body

    2.) listen to your body

  • the part where he was talkin about squats half ways through with the "jerk off" hand motion had me cracking up

  • Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight.

Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

  • @sarmjark aware

  • I would pay good money to find the full version of this video or Gregg's "true freak" training dvd...

  • i fuckin LOVE this guy! i mean, c'mooon!

  • I just saw Gregg's video of his pics when he was a natural bodybuilder. Pretty awesome vid, and I knew he met Lee Haney, but I had no idea he knew Gladys Portugues! He met Mrs. Van Damme before Van Damme met her! That's pretty cool! I dug this vid also, and both vids definitely inspire me to keep following my instincts with training. :-D

  • Greg is a pretty smart guy !!!

  • I've always been a 'Rambling Freak' fanatic. Long live the career of Gregg Valentino. He's a real motherfucker. I have read/listened to him for almost 10 years.

  • the best 10 mins anyone who trains can listen too...fact!!

  • "Anyone can he-hove that shit." LMAO He is a smart dude. Good Advice. I'd like to hear more from him on training and nutrition.

  • haha what greg says is sooo true. Do what works for you, dont fall for marketing of pre packaged programs. Especially now with "auto regulation" being a popular term being thrown around these days with powerlifters, you gotta learn how to train yourself thru trial and error.

  • So so true what you said about "powerlifters". A fat guy in stripped pants, who benches on the hammer strength, is not a powerlifter

  • BEST advice you can ever receive for bodybuilding.... Ever.

  • "dude getting your fat ass out of bed is powerlifting" lol I hate does fat bastards, go eat a cupcake!

  • great advice man, thanks!

  • Tell it like it is brother!

  • i fuckin love this guy!

  • getting ya fat ass out of bed is power lifting!!! ha ha greg says it how it is

  • the guy know what hes sayin man

  • cool riff at the end. whats that from

  • 100% right! The old owner of my gym once told me "Bodybuilding is an illusion", he was right! To many people start the gym with the intent to look fit and get a little stronger, they start making gains in size and strength then get all hung up on the weight they use week by week and lose focus of really feeling the exercise in each muscle and targeting every muscle. If you bodybuild you will always be strong, but the most important thing is to hit the muscles and create the illusion to look FIT!

  • great advice by Gregg. Wish I listened to his advice regarding training rear delts first and using shoulder pressing movements last because I fucked up my left rotator cuff doing shoulder presses first.

Now I gotta wait for it to heal and start with isolation exercises and then move onto compounds when they're pre-exhausted so I don't use super heavy weights to get a good contraction.

  • Just ordered your book Gregg after watching this video. What you said in this video hit me right between the fucking eyes. Thanks for telling it like it is.

  • @Billyjoehenry

Didn't know that Greg Valentino wrote a book.

    How is his book called?

I'm gonna buy it after having watched this video full of wisdom.

  • No problem, and sorry for saying that. Good continuation !

  • lifting weights will stunt my growth?

  • @TheLeilisa NO!!!..OF COURSE NOT!! THAT'S A WIVES TAIL!!

  • @8THWWONDER Hey whats up? Actually, your right to a point in answering his question. One thing depends on how old a person is, and second, it may not always "stunt" ones growth, but can effect how the bones develop if someone trains improperly. Reason being is that the bones do not ossify, which means hardening of the bones which is around 25. So yes, the bones are effected, but I'll agree perhaps not to the extent of taking a possible 3 inches off your hight. But it may for some people.

  • @8THWWONDER actually its true to a degree, if your in a growth face I wouldnt be going for maxed squats and deadlifts.

  • @8THWWONDER Aiight good, Cause I want my son to lift early without worry. (not when hes 3 or nothin lol, but I don't want him to start too late)

  • he actually looks really good in his before picture. wat the.

  • I love what he has to say about powerlifting. I fucking hate those people!

  • rear delts first always!!!!

  • after i saw the doco on him about his arms i thought" what a fuckwit, big time, but after watching "bigger stronger faster"(highly recommended) , and this, really opened up my view on him, and reinforced my /thoughts on working out. keep it real Greg...... peace out-Brandy

  • Hi Gregg. Where can I buy the DVD this speech is from?

  • Is this before he was arrested for steroid use or after.

  • @googlefish80 ....WAAAAY, AFTER!!!!!

  • @googlefish80 does it matter?

  • @googlefish80 He was never arrested for steroid use.

  • This video should be the ONLY video shown to all kinsd of amatuer, bodybuilder, bodybuilder who has a hit a wall whatever, this is so simple yet gives you the best advice ever. well said gregory

  • haha extremely funny and true!

  • Gregg always keeps it real, and I love him for that!!!

  • Gregg ain't fucking around with his experience in bodybuilding. But u gotta u remember this, if every gym rat and amateur listened to this guy and understood what these gurus have to say, all these bodybuilding magazines and supplement companies would close down the nest day. lol

You gotta keep some stupid and gullible to sell supplements.

  • Gregg is right on the money, because most of the mistakes he mentions that people make in the gym, I had made also. Listen to this man he is 100% RIGHT. Whats right for Jay Cutler isnt necessarily right for you at all.

  • Awesome bro.

  • Even though Gregg Valentino has taken alot of aggravation he is the most honest and out spoke thanks for the advice

  • Hes funny as hell and honest.

  • Greg is strait up honest and can really help any weightlifter learn more by this in ten minutes then a bodybuilders ten dvd set and stack of magazines. He's helping people learn real knowledge. Love what he say's about "powerlifters" how many times have you seen the same thing, funny. This interview helped me get over a few humps and remended me how to workout better for me that works. I like the story about squats the same thing happened to me in the gym years ago that did a lot to help.

  • This guy's awesome

  • gregg is my fucking hero. i wish every guy who goes to my gym saw this video cuz its annoying to see assholes do twice as much weight as me with excersies and they lift completley the wrong way.

  • I got this fuckin knowledge now

  • THANK YOU GREG FUCKING THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! my god pulled the words right out of my mouth

  • This guy is just plain smart.

  • WELL SAID BRO

  • so how do i listen to my body

  • @axellness BY FUCKING TRAINING. TRAIN YOUR ASS OFF. WHEN YOU" FEEL" AN EXERCISE, YOUR MUSCLE, YOUR MIND, YOUR WHOLE FUCKING BODY IS WORKING IN UNISON TO BRING THAT SHIT UP, YOU FEEL THE PUMP, THE STRENGTH. WHEN YOU DONT FEEL AN EXERCISE YOUR MUSCLE'S ARENT GIVING THEIR ALL TO YOU, IT DOESNT FEEL QUITE RIGHT, YOU DONT FEEL AT 100%. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, JUST STOP. LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKIN BODY, DONT HURT YOURSELF, THE GOAL IS TO LIFT UNTIL YOUR AN OLD MAN, DONT FUCK UP YOUR BODY BY BEING AN IDIOT.

  • @axellness

    That is a great question

  • @axellness it's just paying attention to how your body's reacting to the exercise and going with that - if you're not feeling a particular exercise and not getting results from it, move onto something else until you do. keep experimenting until you find something that's really working. but you won't know what's working until you actually try different exercises and techniques. that's all it is.

  • @controllerbrain If they don't understand it then obviously bodybuilding isn't for them and "working out" is.

  • Gregg Valentino is the man! He may look like a freak, but he know his shit on how to workout

  • he remind me of joe pesci lol

  • gregg sounds wise

  • [Slow clap] Genius! I'm glad I watched this right before I started my new work schedule

  • getting ur fat ass outta bed is power lifting.... lmao!!!

  • Holy shit.. he's way smarter than I thought

  • Wow...He really is a smart man. Everything he said is so true and no bullshit

  • Why do us big powerlifters get always criticized, I hate when those wannabe bodybuilders in the gym be like " get on the treadmill" or tell me to go higher in reps, is my body I do whatever I want, and for the record I could bench more than my bodyweight

  • @funs197 Don't let that shit get to you big fella im going through the same shit except my goal is to look like a bodybuilder and im eating about 6 small meals a day and struggling to reach my goal and people look at me funny and cry out football and say the same shit like treadmill and light weight more reps shit(Which is bullshit challenging the muscles build muscles) people judge others by image and but like me or atleast in my opinion those same pussy's will never last training with us.

  • wow, this is very good advice! great vid, we need to give Gregg more credit

  • his advice is awesome.... quite possibly the best i ever heard...

  • I thought gregg was a asshole, but after listen to him I have learned the man is a brilliant. wow He really is a smart man...

  • my favorite video on youtube lol! this dude has been in the game forever and knows exactly what he's talking about...real talk!

  • ROFLLLLLLLLL at him talkin about the dildo squatting 6 plates barely bending his knees, those guys wear me down!

  • steroids or not this man is someone to look up to, he knows he fucked up big time and hes out there trying to help everyone else. anyone who trash talks this man is an arrogant piece of shit

  • oou but thats bad for the knees. lol this is epic. you will always see those kinda guys on leg press, but they will never squat with the bar.

  • Hands down, the best overall BB advice on YouTube. You'll have more success keeping in mind what Gregg says in this ten-minute vid than you will trying to apply the countless hours of bullshit out there.

  • TONEY FREMAN SAYS- I NOT TRAIN TO GET BIG I EAT TO GET BIG.

  • Gregg is the man

  • real talk!!!

  • sickest fucken video ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow much respect for this guy. he is 100% correct on everything. i see tiny dudes repping huge weight with shitty form and i just wanna go up to them and be like "that is why you arent big, you do pussy 1/4 reps with a weight you cant handle."

  • @gibbyboy66 jop i see those fags all the time in the gym

  • I come back and listen to this video every few months. Prolly some of the best advice ive ever heard about working out. Good way for me to keep going in the right direction.

  • 23 years natural work out.. DAMN !

  • First I thought he was a fukkin' idiot, but that was then.

  • i love this guy classic !!!

  • He knows what he's talking about.

  • without doubt the best vid clip any young trainer could watch agree with everything he said those personal trainers are fucking everyone up(core stability bollocks)

  • best fkn rant ever

  • This is some of the best advice you'll get hands down! Listen to your body, that's the way to go! Most people don't do that, they listen to everyone else instead.

  • oh shit, this is the best greg valentino shoot interview ive ever seen! lol

  • gregg is a fucking legend
