With migration patterns it is entirely possible. Traveling the Silk route into China was easier in many centuries than going into Russia via Europe (Jews into Poland? hahaha). There is a shul in Kaifeng for over 1200 years with Torah and Megillah of Esther in it (now in Canadian Museum). Japanese is an Ural Altaic language from Mongolia via Ural mountains.
