@ElTrikiWiki Thank you for your kind comment. It's great to hear that you are learning this piece, and I wish you a lot of success with your playing. The only advice I can give you on playing well is that every time you play you should imagine that you are someone else listening to you playing, and ask yourself whether you would enjoy what you are hearing.
@Animeman2k9 That's a very hard question - I like lots. But of pianists playing today, I find that two who really have a lot to say are Marta Argerich and Lang Lang, who really are exceptional talents.
Thank you for another tender rendering of a pretty tune. I've just seen and heard the same piece played on a Kankles from Latvia. There is so much beautiful music in this world. A trace of sadness - even if I should live to be 200, I'll never hear it all. Many thanks for introducing some of it to me. You Tube made me realise that I'm not the sad old, eccentric git that I thought I was. There are countless thousands of us around! Not you, of course!
@tinkermanful Well, I don't remember Liszt, or any other 19th c composer complaining that there was not enough music in the world. Well we have almost all that he had available plus another 100 years worth of toil. I am constantly amazed by the number of prolific composers for the piano whose music has been published in the past, but totally forgotten.
Your technique is quite reminiscent of Horowitz's! You know, just by the looks. Flat fingers moving mostly laterally. Well played! The one of the rare satisfying interpretations of 'a river flows in you' I have found on the web. Better recording equipment might have made this recording a substitute to Yiruma's recording on my MP3! Great Job, sir!
@Parishrut2 Thank you for that. You are quite right, I do play with quite flat fingers - a lot of the best pianists (and other musicians) are double jointed, but I am not one of them! I have been working to improve the recording quality and my most recent videos (recorded this month onwards) have much clearer sound.
Hi I totally love this song , so much emotions. You play it very nice , sounds amazing. Iam a beginner , what do you think.. How long does it take to learn this if you're a beginner ?
And do u have a vid playing "Canon in D" ? If not , please do one :D
@cloudsRnBlounge Thank you for that. I don't teach piano so it is very difficult for me to tell how long it would take you to learn it. The right hand part is quite 'fiddly' so you need to develop strong fingers to play it. I haven't recorded the Pachelbel Canon - but hundreds of other people have, so there is a lot of choice of performances on YouTube.
@DrAznmuff Thank you. I had never heard of him, but a viewer kindly sent me a copy of the Yiruma Piano Album and asked me to play some pieces from it ...so I did!
I discovered Yimura last month with this piece. I was searching for a music for a possible little animated movie, and this one particularly move me deeply. Congratulations for this excellent interpretation, I'm glad to seeing you continue playing the piano.
@FreshFreshExcited If you want to play like Lang Lang, then probably 2yo. I myself started at about 6 and did my first grade exam at 8. Otherwise, any age - it's never too late to start!
@PSearPianist One only has to look at people like Chopin who began learning the piano at the age of 7. Within 3 years of beginning to play the piano I was playing to Grade 8 standard and I don't consider myself to have any special talent, so I think much of it is about the amount of work you put in.
@TheGlobalGays That's remarkable progress - congratulations! I have heard it said that to master a musical instrument takes 10,000 hours of work. However, I think success also depends on having the right physical attributes. This is a subject that is never discussed, but I am willing to bet that people who achieve real success as pianists - whether they have small or large hands - have relative finger lengths and degrees of stretches between fingers that are optimal for the repertoire.
You are amazing at playing the piano especially at this age :) I've always wanted to learn piano since little but never get a chance....... I hope one day i can play like you !!!
@wennessa94 Thank you very much. I'm not that old, and there are plenty of pianists 20 years older than me that are at the top of the proffession. Do learn the piano if you can!
Wow, this is really beautiful, much like the originial one. When I first heard the song, I feel in love with it but sadly, I can only play the intro. I'm staring to take lessons and I'm wondering if I can really be a good piano player. The problem is that I'm only 15 and will I still be able to play as good as you if I practice and dedicate myself to learning the piano...
@MachinimaCommentary1 Thank you for your kind comment. The answer to your question, I'm sure, is 'Yes'. Of course, the likes of Lang Lang started learning as very small children, but there are always exceptions. 15 is by no means too late. If you are looking for inspiration and ideas, take a look at or join the Pianostreet forum (Google it!) - you may well find some encouragement there.
@ceveze2 Thank you for your kind comments. I can't remember how long it took me to learn the piece - maybe a few hours, plus the time taken to listen to the composer's own recording.
Without watching the clip I thought that i was listening to Yiruma myself LOL.... It sounds perfectly match with the official track that i listened to
@agamer1000 Thank you very much for your kind comment. Of course I do not set out to do a clone performance, but one does not want to depart too much from the composer's intentions as shown in his own performances.

@agamer1000 I suppose that with practice a lot of the playing process goes to some sort of 'autopilot' so you need to concentrate on only some aspects of playing.
@tom01011 Thank you! Although I used the score for the video, I did learn the piece first, and listened to Yiruma's own recording. Alas, I can play very little written-down music from memory - but I can improvise!
@TheJudgeXD Thanks for your kind comment. You are very lucky to be just 13 and have a whole life of music ahead of you. I don't teach and can't give specific advice, but of course practice makes perfect. Just make sure that you also learn some fun pieces that you really enjoy playing.
@xEternalx Well, looking at your channel profile, you are very fortunate in having a long time to wait. I wonder whether at the time you are playing this piece in your 60s I will be playing anything at all!
This is the best version Ive so far listened to:) And I like the way you play the piano. Oh and you look like a very kind and friendly scholar:) All the best!
@josh1955LE Thank you for that - although I'm not sure that I would necessarily class this as classical music. I think 'easy listening' would be a better description.
Sir,When you playd that,It made me cry and think of my past(good times)You encourage me to play piano. That was lovely and keep up the Awesome work.Thank you Sir for sharing it with us :)
oh i heard this when yiruma played it! it was one of my favorite songs that he composed! he played it really well. and i like how you played it as well. it gives off the soft, gentle rhythm. that's why i love all your music uploads. it somehow shows a feeling either sad or happy. unlike how i play. when i play the piano, it seems pretty plain and normal. how do you give them meaning and sense? please tell me.
@silentprincess99 Thank you very much for your kind comment. I guess I have been playing for a long time, and I had a teacher who put huge emphasis on phrasing. I think the important thing is always to play for an imaginary audience and not just for oneself.
@PSearPianist but every time i play, i just cant imagine anyone ever looking. and if i play on stage, no matter how many times i've practiced and mastered that piece, i just mess up! whenever i play by myself it always right yet when people are around, it goes wrong. how can i stay calm and still be able to concentrate?
@silentprincess99 We all get nervous! But you have to try to be professional, and focus on delivering what the audience want (and what you would want if you were sitting there watching someone else play). If you can do that, you will be fine. Think of playing piano to an audience as being just the same as working in a restaurant and delivering a beautifully prepared plate of food to a customer, cooked exactly as he or she would like it!
@PSearPianist thank you for all the advices you've given me. even though i thought i was being a bother to you for asking a lot of questions but still thank you! i'm not sure i have the confidence to play the pieces very well but as you say, i must at least try dont i? again, thank you very much for the inspiration and the advices.
You'll always be nervous no matter how long you've been playing, its the ability to cope with the nerves and perform. You get used to it so don't worry.
one more time and more mechanical piece. I bet you play all of this album song in a same day like this? If that so your day is over cuz a computer plays better than you do
@PSearPianist she's young but has alot of potential and talent for a person her age. Her 1st album was published in the later part of last year & I think the title is "If Only" but I'm not for sure...
A few of my favorites are Riverland, Aquarelle, & If Only.=)
It's so beautiful to hear every piece you play ... I have only 14 years, and played the piano for 2 years ..... I would love to play like you ...
I just wanted to know if I could give advice to play well ... And thanks for sharing your wisdom....
Oh at the moment i try to play this piece....

@silentprincess99
You'll always be nervous no matter how long you've been playing, its the ability to cope with the nerves and perform. You get used to it so don't worry.

one more time and more mechanical piece. I bet you play all of this album song in a same day like this? If that so your day is over cuz a computer plays better than you do
cyberpires 1 year ago
@cyberpires That's a pretty unpleasant comment. Let me see you do a video showing how it should be played. As we say in UK 'Put up or shut up'!

"The River Flows in You" by Yiruma is very beautiful. I was wonder if you've heard of Galya...
She's a new age Russian composer that I think you might like.=)

@EinaudiRulez Thank you. I have not heard of Galya, but will look out for her work.

@PSearPianist she's young but has alot of potential and talent for a person her age. Her 1st album was published in the later part of last year & I think the title is "If Only" but I'm not for sure...
A few of my favorites are Riverland, Aquarelle, & If Only.=)
