  • Whats the difference between the black edition and the normal edition?

  • haha default gnome wallpaper, love it

  • lol the wallpaper

  • Windows sucks

  • Loads just like Debian.

  • hi there.. hope can learn me. i want to install freebsd to my computer but here i dont know where to buy it. hope can help me. Im Malaysian..

  • You don't need to buy it. Just go to the FreeBSD website to get started.

  • Yes, FreeBSD is free. Just go download it. I prefer to download these things using torrents, so I don't use the bandwidth of the FreeBSD project (they have to pay for that, I think, so I just torrent the .iso). There is also PC-BSD which I have just downloaded and am going to try. It is FreeBSD with simplified program installations, like Windows.

  • Love the error at the end :P I hope you have fixed that. I prefer gnome as well. Great show.

  • The error wasn't important, just the CPU frequency applet complaining because I have an unlocked multiplier (BE X2) and C 'n Q disabled ;). I've removed the applet now...no error!

  • hey i have FreeBSD installed in the other computer and i dont know how to enable the "desktop". can you tell me?

  • You have to install Gnome or KDE. If you cd /usr/ports/x11/gnome;make install it will install gnome. If you cd /usr/ports/x11/gdm;make install it will install gdm (this is the graphical login). You need to setup Xorg beforehand as well. I have outlined a few times on youtube and freebsd forums, message me if you want the entire outline.
