  • IM ABOUT TO BUY A MONITOR WHAT BETTER ASUS OR SAMSUNG?

  • Wait in the title it says 26 inch, but in the video he says 25 inch? lol

  • @xbasket12x 25'5 inch to be precise.

  • @LoveyyGlyndaej79 are you seriously writing that here. everyone here are geeks, mostly at least

  • Samsung they black out its awful' I need a better monitor

  • Try not to advertise when reviewing.............

  • this guy is the billy mays of electricals haha xD

  • i have 27 inch monitor.... is big

  • ohhhh my lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awww I miss this guy.

  • Bought one, can't go wrong if your a hardcore gamer like I am.

  • my 21.5 inch is fine 1920x1080 or i just switch to my tv as the main monitor :D

  • i like my 15 inch monitor

  • probably stupid question haha... can i use the ant in to plug in my dish box?

  • WTF 25''

  • me too I was looking for 26¨ and when I saw 25 I said WTF too lmao..

  • Whats a boom click? joke joke. Merry Christmas. Gimme one.

  • Can't you turn off the lights?

Congratulations! You can speak very fast.

  • I have this monitor... It's AMAZING!

  • also awesome.. : ) it's good for me as multimedia developer.. : )

  • how much was it? n from where did u buy it??

    cheers...

  • @IamDev147

We payed about 400 dollars, and we bought it from Office Depot.

  • woo, i'm getting one soon :)

  • will the Multiscreen feature work on win7?

  • i have an answer...what did he mean...that crysis plays well or bad.....???????

  • he meant that crysis will look nice on this monitor. but make sure your GPU can handle the resolution (1920x1200)

  • Can a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT handle a resolution of 1920x1200, cause my max was1600x1200, even as a resolution for Windows, and I have a 24" Monitor.

  • What are you trying to do on it?

before my 285 and 260 I had a 7900GS (massive step I know) and that could support 1920x1200 as long as you don't play any games =P

It would play games like halflife 2 at 1920x1200 but games like crysis it gets smashed.

With a 9800gt as long as you're not planning to play the top end games then it'll be perfect.

  • No I mean also as a Resolution for my background or Windows my max is 1600x1200. Crysis I play it on 1280x960 lol. But how do I get the 1920x1200 Resolution?

  • The only reason that your maximum resolution is 1600x1200 at the moment, I'm assuming, is because your monitor can't support higher. With this monitor the max resolution will be 1920x1200.

every card since the 6 series (or before I think but not sure) the max resolution would be at about 2560x1600 or something. Maaaaasive. So yes your card will support this monitor =)

  • Dude my Monitor is a HP w2448hc LCD Display, and it says that it's fit for a resolution of 1920x1200 (Full HD). Even there's a button called Auto on the screen that auto audjusts the screen resolution to 1920x1200, but because I don't know for what reason, I don't support 1920x1200 so it takes the highest which is 1600x1200.

  • hmm so it is.

Download the latest nvidia drivers and go to HP and download the latest monitor drivers. That should allow you to bump up the resolution to 1920x1200. Hope this helped, not sure what else to suggest.

  • I did everything you told me, and no still god damn thing came out,

  • What OS are you running? Also DVI, HDMI, VGA? How are you connected to it? Also you could try a factory reset on the monitor. Possibly borrow a friends computer and hook the monitor up and see what the max res you can reach on that is?

  • I'm running a Vista Home Edition, and connected through VGA. And should I factory reset the monitor?

  • hmm could try DVI, shouldn't make a difference but it might. Also have you gone into advanced monitor settings and checked "display all resolutions including unsupported ones"? If not then check that and try and bump it up to the native.

If that doesn't work then a factory reset might work.

  • I did the unsupported ones 1920x1200 60Hz and it doesn't work. And I did a Factory Reset nothing happened lol. GOD DAMN IT. I'll try if I can switch to DVI.

    Thanks mate.

  • So wait was the option of 1920x1200 available to you? If it was and the screen went black and wouldn't show anything then it seems like the monitor can't support the resolution. VGA has no limit in tearms of resolution so that shouldn't be the problem.

Well I tried =( Sorry I couldn't be more help. Try calling Dell?

  • It' not availabe man, my highest is 1600x1200. And I have a HP lol not Dell.

    Well thanks anyways.

  • Sorry I meant HP. Hmm well after googling it seems like the native should be 1920*1200. What are the dimensions of the monitor? (use a tape-mesure to get the height and width) It could be that you have a 1600x1200 version. I've never heard of one and can't find one on google but I have no other ideas.

It sounds like it's your monitor though not your Graphics card or operating system so this monitor should run at 1920x1200 native.

Sorry I couldn't be more assistance.

  • I'm sure it's 1920x1200 Monitor, 100%. I asked my friend why I couldn't do 1920x1200 he told me it's because a 9800 GT can't run 1920x1200. And I was like WTF?

    7900 GT can run 2560x1600, a 9800 can't.

Thanks anyways, I'll wait till my cousin gets back from Denmark, he's the genius. And I will buy a GT 300 anyways so I'll scheck if I can change it later. But lol I'll buy after 2 years lol.

  • Woah great timing here. Round at a mates house who has 3 graphics cards. 2 9800gt's in SLI and a 285. I put one of the 9800s into an old computer and hooked it up to his 26". Monitor res is 1920x1200 and it works fine so it's not that.

Also I wouldn't go for a 300 anytime soon. When they come out get a 285, the price will be A LOT less and the performance dominates almost any other card on the market.

  • Yeah but it won't support DX11 for Crysis 2, I'm sure you know about CryEngine 3, so a GTX 285 won't be useful. But I will buy a GTX 280m for my laptop. But that's really good thinking for financial problem. And do you recommend I buy another 9800 GT, for SLI? Now I can play Crysis on 1280x960 x2 AA graphics averagely medium, and around 18-25 FPS, could you give me how much boost will it give me?

And please help me with 1920x1200 problem, I'm pissed.

  • I'm sorry about the 1920x1200, I truley am but I have no experience with HP monitors and I can't think what else it could be =(

The 280m is 40% slower than the 280 (slightly less but only just) so it should perform like a 250. Should be able to get crysis on high (not very high) at about 26-30 fps. I can't guarantee that but unless there's something big that I'm missing (like less shader units or something) then it should be similar to the 9800GTX+/250GTS.

  • Well thanks anyways about the resolution concern, but the GTX 280m would really be cheap when the GT 300 comes out, that's my point. Anways, it can let you play Crysis on high, x2 AA or maybe x4, and a resolution of 1280x720. That's fine for me in a laptop. Cause I would mostly play WoW on it lol. I know it's a really expensive card for WoW, but I like to get 100+ FPS.

But, for my PC should I buy another for a 9800 GT, can you tell me what settings I can use with x2 9800 GT?

  • dual 9800's will give quite a bit performance jump. My mates 9800s gave him performance similar to a 280GTX so you should be able to play crysis at 1600x1200 at about 30fps everything up on max with 4xaa. Google 9800gt SLI benchmarks or 8800gt SLI benchmarks. the 9800gt = 8800gt + DX10 + physx + Cuda

So the fps's will be about the same.

  • Yeah I saw some Benchmarks, and I know that the 9800 GT is a replica of the 8800 GT but with some improvements. But x4 AA, wow pure awesomeness. How about WoW? Yeah cause I'm temporarily buying a 9800 GT cause it's cheap. And I wanted to ask, SLI doesn't it make a line in the middle, because half oof the screen is taking one graphic card and the other is the second card, so it doesn' t make any barely seen line or something like that? And will there be a chance that both screens might lagg?

  • Wait what? The 9k series can output 1920x1200 albeit not with games that well... but it can display it none the less :\

  • What?

  • "I'm sure it's 1920x1200 Monitor, 100%. I asked my friend why I couldn't do 1920x1200 he told me it's because a 9800 GT can't run 1920x1200. And I was like WTF?

    7900 GT can run 2560x1600, a 9800 can't."

Reply to that. The 9800GT can output 1920x1200, in fact a friend of mines has it and it's displaying that resolution just fine. Unless I'm reading your comment wrong.

  • No actually even my friend told me it can't run a 1920x1200 and I was lik WTF 2x, lol.

    I was so pissed off.

How about if I run 2x 9800 GT shall it give me my desired resolution?

  • Well the single card 'should' be able to do it, it shouldn't matter how many cards you have unless you're doing multi-monitor set ups... hmm... very strange :o

  • eah it's strange and I'm like so pissed off, seems like the 9k series can't run 1080p+

  • i think hp w2558hc owns this t260hd?

  • I have the w2448hc, and it owns!

  • why do they have an outdated OS on it?

  • Well genius if you looked at when it was posted your question would be answered.

  • vista at least?

  • is this guy on amphetamine?

  • Fail question.

  • would this monitor work on windows 7???

  • os has nothing to do with the monitor,

so yes, it will work -_-

  • LOL

  • I'm running these dual, its awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • where is the Touch of Color Green or Blue , I see only Red bezel on the market

  • I do not understand , the T240 has 1980 x 1200 and this T260 has the same resolution, ??? Finaly is lika a T240 zoomed to 25,5 inch, the space is the same (pixel number)

  • albert seems to love this monitor...

  • @freddieman23

    haha xD

no kidding...he DOES love it :D

  • I just bought this monitor, the graphic is great so far...the problem is with the stand...the stand is not tough enough and the monitor keeps shaking when I type...

  • is this 16:10 or 16:9?

  • t260 is 16:10

  • lol he says it's 25"

  • the screen IS 25.5" actually

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • 25 or 26?

  • 25.5

  • again, this guy is funny as shiet

  • I gotta admit...this kind of marketing is so typical american...

  • are u reviewing or selling this monitor?!

  • hes payed for making reviews, he's making them seem so perfect.. even if they r'nt that good-.-

  • TigerDirect always just compliments everything... I just wish Logan was here to compliment it, he was doing it better and more natural way :)

  • for those of you looking into buying this monitor, it is in fact 25.5", it does tilt back I own it you just have to push hard, it's aspect ratio is 16:10 and the T260 does not have 1:1 bit mapping so it will stretch 16:9 movies or games, and its truly a beautiful display however I'd recommend getting the T260HD for Blu-ray movies as it does do 1:1 bitmapping and also includes a ATSC tuner, I believe it's on sale for $370 on newegg which is defiantly a good bang for buck if you want HDTV as well.

  • So does that mean i cant watch movies without the top and bottom lines, and what about games, if you set the res. to 1920x1080, will it still stretch out? Thanks

  • it you set it to 1920x1080 it will stretch and will have no bars on the T260 but with the T260HD it will have bars, but keep in mind it will only stretch by 11% so it's nothing serious or anything but circles will look more look ovals for example.

  • Do you know a screen that doesent stretch the picture and has a native resolution of 1920x1200? Only reason im asking is because id really like to play games with the bars :P

  • If the monitor says it does 1:1 bitmapping (check the specs to see if it does) then it will add bars and use the exact amount of pixels for a set resolution but only for digital signals, just as long as it says it does 1:1 bitmapping your good(T260HD and T240HD do have 1:1bitmapping but T260 and T240 do not)

  • wait, wont it look normal in movies because thats the standard resolution, 1920x1080, so how will it stretch on a T260HD? If anything it'll look like normal because the width of pixels stays the same

  • The T260HD does NOT stretch the picture, but the T260 DOES stretch, the native resolution on both monitors is 1920x1200 but what 1:1 bit mapping in monitors does is it detects the resolution of the signal and scales the image pixel by pixel as if it were it's native resolution, leaving any extra pixels blank(appearing as black bars). The difference is that the T260HD displays every pixel of the signal without pixels in between but the T260 skips 1 pixel for every 9 pixels in height when @ 1080p.

  • Thank you

btw, do you know any good glossy monitors around the 24-26 inch range?

  • It's 26".

  • no its not, its 25.5"

  • and the price its also huge lol

  • What a crappy review, all your saying in effect is "its a 25" monitor" and then a bunch of buzzwords.

And you have it connected with VGA.

  • True.

I normally don't like TigerDirectBlog's reviews. Coz they don't really "test" the product.. They just read the specifications up, and say some uselesss word.. Something like "It's AWESOME".. Hmm, no, it's not.. You need to test it man..

  • is that why when he's playing the hulk movie at the end there are two bars remaing to the left and the right of the image? if i were hooked up to hdmi would the screen be filled?

  • I miss Logan =[

  • would this be good to watch tv play ps3 watch blu ray stuff like that?

  • Is there anything this guy does NOT think is "awesome"??

  • I'm not saying Macs are bad, nor is my comment irrelevant (common YouTube baiting). In my experience, every Mac I or my peers have used has crashed repeatedly in the same program, either corrupting files or making the application unstable until 'force quit'd (Firefox and Flash being two).

There's just this common idiosyncrasy amoung Mac users that Macs, iPods and iPhones (i.e.Apple Fanboys) are godsend equipment that are the best in the world. Realistically, they're overpriced for what you get.

  • I love how Macs are reliable *sarcastic snort*. A majority of the Adobe Suite applications (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash) have all crashed in a way that any non-tech savvy user will have issues fixing (for me and several others I study with).

Every App I've run under Windows 7 (Which is just as works-out-of-the-box as Leopard, which realistically isn't true, cause all Mac hardware is the same) hasn't crashed a single time, nor has W7. Now Leopard, it's died several times.

  • This monitor is at best average all normal buyers

who actually use their heads will search before buying and learn something about monitors.

E.G Never buy TN you can get AWESOME Dell 2209WA (IPS) panel for only 220$ !!

The picture quallity on a TN is shit comparing

    Any IPS based monitor.

  • Can HIS IceQ HD Radeon 4850 run this monitor? Thinking to get this monitor...

  • Comment removed

  • yeah but is that including a screen to a same spec as the mac? + speakers again that the MAC has? Plus the OS the MAC has?

the macs are not as overpriced as they used to be Haha

  • man this guy knows how to sell products. LOL..I didn' tknow they had blue green, etc,etc colors ROFL...

  • This Dudes full of shit when it comes to rotate, tilt and pivot. It really is one solid piece of monitor. He is just turning the whole thing stand an all. I have the monitor and love it. This guys just full of shit. It also doesn't do blueray properly as this is a 16:10 monitor and with a PS3 it will up stretch the 16:9 image to fill the screen. Nothing you can do about that.

  • lol indeed he lies.

So really can't play with 2 thin black bars? :s

  • i got the samsung t260HD

And a iphone :/ both al sleak.

and a intel core i7 pc.

  • Quiero uno asi

  • 16:10 solves the "Format-War" (golden Ratio)

  • Shut up man,

stop your whining and moaning, enjoy the great video, and go stick ur apple up your f*$%&£@ @ss

Let others enjoy the video without being an idiot

  • Ur crappy mac sucks !

  • I would want to use it for music software EMU X3 software sampler yes / no please give opinions.

  • (oops, meant to type D-SUB)

  • Sweet. looks awesome. I think it's funny he's using VGA GSUB rather than unleashing it's full digital high-def potential with a DVI/HDMI etc... :P

    Good review. ta

  • how much is it???

  • £295 from amazon

  • dude, south koreans able to beat japonese on technology!! unsame ,i mean samsung, hyundai lol

  • Atfer WW2 Japan ruled Korea, the north was liberated by the USSR and the South was liberated from the Alllid foorces

  • yep i will buy a HDMI xbox360. but i think 2494HM would be better and cheaper...

  • buy a 22 or 23inches monitor but a ps3!

  • but i cant afford buy the games just download. i will got more games for only $2/dvd-game easier way. :)

  • then..... ok. I prefer playing online games and for that i think the ps3 is definitely the better console..

for the xbox you even had to pay to use the internet....

  • is this good for xbox 360?

  • of course

  • It is but you'll need an extra cable, an A\V adapter to AVG, unless you have a newer 360 Elite which comes with HDMI which can connect directly to the monitor.

  • is it HDCP?

  • yes

  • can you plug your xbox to this tv

  • yes yo can

  • yes

  • is it a widescreen monitor Tv?

  • Computer monitor.

  • gamers ultimate lcd heaven big time hands down! :D

  • Gonna be throwin down on this bad boy soon, hopefully.

  • Can you run 1080p with this ?

  • yup!

  • lol, puTTY has nothing to do with web design, also you don't need a lot of screen real estate for it either.

  • crysis on max detail would look sexy on that

  • omg yes it would

  • This thing is awesome. Had it for about a month now. No complaints at all whatsoever. Best monitor ever! Great price on Amazon too, which is where I got it.

  • Hi all. What about DVDs on this lcd monitor (be careful: not Blu-Ray but normal DVDs). Is it true that DVD are better on CRT monitors? Or is it a fake? I have never had a lcd monitor (i'm still using a CRT Philips 19'' 4:3... so forgive my ignorance) :)

  • Hey people, please respond i would appreciate it

What is the difference between buying an LCD flat panel TV and a monitor like this? im assuming the monitor would be more crisp/clear connected to a computer?

Also should i go for this T260 for 350 bucks or a 24 inch for like 250 bucks??

  • Hey,

I'm looking into getting a monitor like this, and that was one of my first questions. From what I've found, the main difference between this monitor and the T260HD (the TV counterpart) is that the HD one has a TV tuner built in, as well as speakers, and a remote.

As far as picture quality goes, both support the same max resolution, so neither will be more crisp than the other. Both support full HD and have HDMI input etc. The T260 doesn't have all the extra stuff.. its just a monitor

  • woow where can u get a new one for 350 or 250?

  • Well, i found a new one on craigslist for $400 but i talked to guy down to $350 firm...but im not buying it...i just tested the monitor and the stand is HORRIBLE, the screen wobbles and moves very easily. Just putting your arm on your computer desk will make it move. The screen is very nice tho..

  • wow thats a cool monitor ? guyz how mach will it costs ? is it cheap ? or normell or expnasive

  • Awesome Review! Thanks folks!

  • Im thinking of substituting this for my current 28'' TV... the size wouldn't be much different right? It looks big for a monitor but would it be big enough for a TV?

    narm

  • Very big!!!

  • can it support 120Hz ???

  • nope

  • What monitor is better?

    Hannsg HG281DPB 28' (28 inch) 3MS 800:1 static (1920x1200 Full HD)

Or that monitor!! I dont know what to buy :(

    I have 19" now

  • so what is the difference between this and lcd tvS then? there are tv's that have these connections on them too and as far as i can tell they can be just as good. even better if you get one that has pip so you can have tv and computer on at the same time.

  • lcd tvs have 16:9 aspect ratio while this has a native of 16:10.. 16:10 has more pixels (1920x1200).. the 16:9 has 1920x1080..

LCD TVs dont usually have black bars on them when running 1080i/p while the image isnt being stretched.. the t260hd doesnt have PIP..

  • Good monitor but a bit big!

  • Comment removed

  • Can you watch regular tv on the monitor?

  • yea

  • no, not on the t260, there is another one that u can though

  • just on t260HD!

  • There's two models for the T260. One has a tv tuner which allows you to hook up a cable in the back and receive a signal. The other just has your regular monitor inputs (DVI, VGA, HDMI)

  • yea on the T260HD you can, I have this one currently, and I just bought the T260 regular as my second monitor, the t260 has 20k:1 where the t260hd has only 10k:1 contrast, don't understand, well i haven't gotten it yet so we'll see!

  • yea i don't understand why the hd version has 10k:1 versus 20k:1. Dynamic CR is just a figure to market the product and really isn't measurable. btw

  • Of course.

  • Hi, could you tell me how many inches of space are between the desk and the bottom of the monitor, and can you tilt the monitor screen?

    Thanks.

  • damm...i should have save my budget 4 this baby...now i regretted 4 spending all my budget on N82 instead...lolz

  • I have owned this monitor since the summer (5 months or so now) and I love it! So much screen real estate for the price. As an artist myself I have no problems with it. You can tweak the settings good to get things where you need it.

Gaming is sick on this thing. I will be buying 1 more of these so I can have a dual monitor setup of these. Price dropped 50 bucks since summer. Currently using my last lcd in my dual monitor setup and it just doesn't compare (its a older sammy syncmaster too)

  • what version do you have? I'm thinking of getting the t260 over the t240.

  • maybe its the movie but the video look quite blue

  • i have the 22 inch one, amazing monitor

  • full hd?

  • full hd is 1920*1080

    this is 1920*1200

  • Your conclusion:

    Full HD

  • hehe... i got one, and i played gears of war II in a Xbox 360 elite in high definition conection and fuck that was amazing, colors, resolution, contrast, time response, all was amazing! OMG i love my monitor XD
