@ronaldlsmith1 Not strange at all. I grew up listening to Cousin Brucie on WABC out of New York City. I listened to that as much as our R&B station - WNJR out of Newark.
You think its strange because you've bought into your own stereotypes. I'm a 17 year old "black" female, and i love classic rock from the late sixties. Its all i listen to.
Last time I checked, Jimi Hendrix wasn't white.
The guitar is an african instrument. White people got rock 'n roll from the blues. Its not strange. Its in your blood.
@1969Trippin yep your a hundred percent right girl. i know plenty of people from all different races young and old that dig this shit. good music is good music.
this makes me sick cuz all those great artists selling out to be put in a bull cd collection that was made by the people they were fighting against. so sad
Does anyone know what the song is in the background between Mellow Yellow and Hush? It's under the narration at about 1:35 into the video. I know I've heard it a lot but I have no idea who it is. It sounds a little Mamas and Papas-ish but I don't think it's them. Any way, it would really appreciate it if someone could tell me.
"The Summer of Love was pretty much the death knell of what was happening, of the little renaissance that we had in San Francisco in the mid-1960s, says Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead. If you ask anybody who lived in the Haight-Ashbury before the Summer of Love, theyll all tell you the same thing."
oh my gosh, this is my favorite info-mercial!!!! that & sumpthin bout a malt shop. but i really really wish i could've lived back then, it would've been kick-ass!!!! i absolutely love that era
I love Peter but he needs to wear a helmet when on his harley. He took a spill years ago and wasn't wearing one and got hurt. Bruce Dern is really cool. I love the music back in the mid to late 60's. Flower power has some good stuff. (My friend lent it to me.) They need more psychedelic music though. I'm not much on bubble gum or Beatles. A little acid is good as well. Kenny Roger's even had a great song. I much rather hear Arthur Brown's I've put a spell on you. He is wild!
Now everythings controlled, we are a war-torn, greedy corrupt species once again dominating our planet. What a shameful time to be a human on planet Earth.
We should also remember that we are just one of many civilizations in our universe.

I love these commercials (except Malt Shop Memories, those old people freak me out). They are pretty much the closest thing to music videos on regular cable anymore. Sure, they're really hokey and way too expensive, but there's more music packed into their half-hour commercial than all day on MTV or VH1.
