@scottyparade I know it may appear like a odd comparison, seeing as one portrays herself as more electro and this band sell a more "indie rock" image. But beneath the surface this isn't far off from sounding like one of her songs. The exaggerated accents and arrangement do sound inspired by MIA.

Maybe the shouty vocal intro has a similar feel to some stuff that MIA has done, but I would guess they share a common influence, rather than Warpaint being influenced directly. I definitely don't hear any exaggerated accents (unless you call hitting the snare on the backbeat exaggerated...)

@papillon786 (con't) Beneath the surface, I'd say their Sonic Youth/Sleater-Kinney influences inform them far more than any subconscious influence from MIA. Granted, it's totally subjective if you want to say they both share influences from the Beatles, and you like how MIA does it better, but I have a hard time thinking these gals are directly influenced by MIA. But, that's okay. I still love both MIA and Warpaint.

I don't wish Warpaint anything negative, I just cannot tolerate what I consider their musical "posing". I just find them boring, repetitive, and uninspiring. Check out the Punch Brothers, or Chatham County Line if you want to hear what I consider music that is curiously interesting.

If you find them boring, repetitive, etc. that is fine. Just don't feel surprised when others don't share you views. Also, the bands that you mentioned are bluegrass. I like bluegrass to but if that is what you were expecting then... you may have been barking up the wrong tree.
