I'm going to VA to go to a riding college, but when i told my parents this they said "only if you pay for it yourself because I'm not paying for a riding college." they don't ever believe in my riding ability. I definitely am that person, everytime I get crushed I pick myself up with no one at my side giving me a hand. I pull myself up out of the dirt, wipe myself off and try again. I try a different way. I try over and over again. Nothing can get me down, and though I may have lost my first choice, I will make the best out of what I DID get. I'm incredibly lucky, I think, for the chances I DO have.
i'm sorry to hear about your parents not helping, but just remember what ever you do, if you believe in something it'll work! If you can't go to your private school it might be for a reason! An oppitunity might come up that you would never have got somewhere else.x
@erinxsjxriderx So true!! And I know you're right (: Because what that private school DIDN'T offer is a NCAA equestrian team. And by going to this midwest state school, I have the possibility of becoming a NCAA rider. So I may have lost riding every day at a private school, but I will(if I get on the team!) gain recognition at a high level of competition and hopefully do well! (: Not that I'll make it, but I will work myself to death trying!
I feel your pain. Honestly I do. The school I would love to go to...I will NEVER be able to afford, and my mother can't afford to help me much. So I will have to find my own ways of achieving my goals. Even if it means changing the road to those goals.

Yes yes try eventing!! Its a blast thats what I am doing right now!! :D oh and also have a nice warm jacket, gloves and hat! Winters can be brutal. Excluding this one. >.> this winter is just sad.

@DefyingxXxGravity Yes, so true! But I've come around, now I think it's pretty awesome and can't wait! (: I think it will only be boring if I take things slow.. I'm kind of a fast-paced person and I nearly run myself into the ground all the time.. and if I continue that busy schedule in college, I'll never have time to be bored (: Ah, I'm so excited to try eventing, I've always wanted to! @TheBayRoan You are SO right. Wow. Thank you for the encouragement, it means so much to me! I definitely am that person, everytime I get crushed I pick myself up with no one at my side giving me a hand. I pull myself up out of the dirt, wipe myself off and try again. I try a different way. I try over and over again. Nothing can get me down, and though I may have lost my first choice, I will make the best out of what I DID get. I'm incredibly lucky, I think, for the chances I DO have.

i'm sorry to hear about your parents not helping, but just remember what ever you do, if you believe in something it'll work! If you can't go to your private school it might be for a reason! An oppitunity might come up that you would never have got somewhere else.x

@erinxsjxriderx So true!! And I know you're right (: Because what that private school DIDN'T offer is a NCAA equestrian team. And by going to this midwest state school, I have the possibility of becoming a NCAA rider. So I may have lost riding every day at a private school, but I will(if I get on the team!) gain recognition at a high level of competition and hopefully do well! (: Not that I'll make it, but I will work myself to death trying!

I feel your pain. Honestly I do. The school I would love to go to...I will NEVER be able to afford, and my mother can't afford to help me much. So I will have to find my own ways of achieving my goals. Even if it means changing the road to those goals.
I am sure even with the change in the road to your dreams you will get there. You just have to be persistent and never lose focus on the endgame. Best of luck to you! <3

I WOULD HATE MY PARENTS JUST A TINY BIT. but i really hope you are happy where ever you end up to be. things are supposed to happen for a reason, i suppose. The other options may not be the best, but anyone that works hard enough can end up at the same destination.
