Imagine two balls upon a big sheet of rubber.

Relativity (as I understand it, probably badly) says those balls cannot move across the surface of the rubber faster than the speed of light.

Thats is, relative to the local space( or rubber surface).

But, you could stretch the rubber as fast as you want, so the balls appear to move away from each other that fast.

so The idea That no object with mass can accel To light speed is DEAD WRONG ,

and This is a certian proof That einstein was WRONG ...because he said " no object WITH MASS can accel To The speed of light " LOL ..

I feel I need to ask this.... if space is moving apart faster than the speed of light, and light therefor travels toward you slower than the space it occupies moving the opposite way, then isn't the SETI (Search For Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) program pointless? Wouldn't signals sent out from Earth never reach their intended destinations?

To some extent, SETI is restrained by time and distance. However, life could have existed for billions of years before it did on Earth.
