Thank you for your compliment relative to the reading. It is true, Walcott stand s alone and needs no accompaniment. I assume your comment regarding the music (Yo Yo Ma) was only in the context of the reading. As a musician he surely stands alone as well. Perhaps I should try making a video with musical accompaniment to my photography alone.
It is quite sad that I have performed and study in Derek Walcott,s Theatre in Trinidad and i have not even heard this beautiful poem of his. I am a fellow citizen of this country. I think i do not stand alone when i say that we as a country do no value what we really have. Your rendition was truly heart warming. I enjoyed it thouroughly.

Walcott's poem is a work of art and that was lovely.
Was there any theme you were thinking of in sharing this, or not?

I love that you use poems in your sermons! May I suggest T.S. Eliot's "Four Quartets"? They're sublime and so spiritual.
Sigh...I would like to be a priest too :-(

beautiful reading but the music is awful it adds sentimentality and distracts from a poem such as this which needs no such embilishments

You present yourself and the poet well. I am telling friends to listen too...too beautiful to be hidden.

It has the air of divine eternal continuity. But also an unforeseen ambivalence
