  • Cool, you could have told us what the chords were after the I IV progression ( looked as tho' you went to 10th fret area 4th string ). Many thanks for a great lesson

  • Face the camera next time... Would love to see straight on.....!

  • good stuff Man, it'll do me :)

  • wow this guitar looks just awesome

  • wow thanks for the lesson,, i,ve been playing it a bit diffrent, yours rocks too..

  • awesome lick thanks!!!

  • Nice Job, mister. Nothin sounds like a LP.

  • Whats the lick in between the unison bends and the verse?

    Thanks

  • @ihatemybed I will look that up, sorry, time gets away from me

  • @meatbundle

    Ok Cheers :)

  • what I'd give for a guitar like that... Nice tutorials, I'm following them on my crappy strat knockoff that is pretty much dead, but I'm getting an epiphone SG special in a few days :)

  • HOLY SHIT I USED TO OWN THAT GUITAR I RECOGNIZE THE DAMAGE BY THE NECK!!!!! I sold it to a pawn shop because my car was in the shop.

  • @MegaJaybee WOW! When did you own it? Where were you at? How long did you have it? Thanks for speaking up.

  • @meatbundle well my friend gave it too me as a present andx i had it for about 10 years (some where in there i got the damage on the neck) then i lost my job so i had to sell it or else i wouldve gone bankrupt. i went to a pawn shop in Irving, TX and got about $1600 for it which i later found out was alot less than it was worth. XD I'm glad and even moreso suprised to see it again. her name is Linsie. I'm also glad to see it being put to good use.

  • @MegaJaybee I got this in St Paul at Willie's American Guitars in 1992...any chance it's your old beast?

  • WOWֱ IS THAT A VINTAGE GIBSON???

  • Yes sir...1968 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop played through a 1953 Fender Princeton amp...as close as I could get to a tone like Chuck on that day. Not everyone understands vintage guitars, and that's fine by me! Thanks for noticing.

  • just from looking at the p-90s and the mark near your arm...

it sounds almost the same to the original... awsome!

  • You're really good at the guitar.

  • I try every day! Don't know anything else. Thank you!

  • Nice one mate. Will get my old man to watch this .We can't teach him !

  • How old is that old man? Is he a rocker? Thanks and say hello to him from Cedar Rapids Iowa USA

  • Man that's rock. Makes you appreciate the song even more.

  • @Apjooz Thanks, it's kinda tough....I figured it out by ear. Gotta break it down. Glad you enjoyed the clip...tweed amp there ya know?

  • GREAT STUFF!! Thanks for the post! One question about your Gold Top, is there any reason you prefer the P-90's to humbuckers?

    Thanks and ROCK ON!!

  • I compared this guitar to a new Les Paul (custom shop with humbuckers, super super expensive) and we could hardly hear a difference! They both sounded fat, yet had the chime from the maple cap....I dunno, I just like them, big weird single coils that sound like humbuckers apparantly! You are very welcome, I love making these cips

  • Nice tutorial..thanks for posting...and fantastic guitar dude!

  • Hey dude very nice the gold top is a classic with a great sound the wear shows you spend lots of time on it not straight from the showroom to the case and never plyed keep up the good work dude you ispire lots of begginners

  • That guitar has played a lot of killer rock shows over the decades...the maple top does produce real nice highs mixed with mellow mids and bass from the mahogany body. I really dig guitars that have been played and show some natural wear, but this one is close to abused! I was playing on a flatbed truck one summer and I got hit by fireworks and it was set on fire for a few seconds! No lie.

  • Dude, it was very nice. You got a nice guitar, too.

  • wow that goldtop is haggard, thats why I hate old ones they always look like garbage

  • That's kinda harsh

  • well thats one beautiful garbage if u ask me.

nwy thanks for the lesson meatbundle! really helpful, cheers

  • Nice xDD (':

  • cool

  • OK...I'll try...remind me...booked solid playing rock shows!

  • hey there im loving this video but after 2:45 you don't explain how to play the rest? how come. please make another video for it.

  • haha! nice! if i can only play this solo forever i'd be just fine... thanks man!

  • thank you

  • dude thank you!

  • Great lesson.. Glad your my instructor :)

  • thanks for your teaching, i learn it but after 2 minutes it's too hard for me but i keep on try. :P

  • Hi, how is Johnny B Good going for you? Do you need a new video to explain any parts?

  • Most excellent lesson. Note for note without any additions or deletions. Did you ever post a video showing the solo a bit further in the song ? Thanks.

  • I'll try to film more of the tune....thanks for the kind word!

  • Man you deserve cudos for the lesson and ability. The solo I'm interested in, is after the 2nd verse of the song . thanks again.

  • OK, I'll take it deeper! Did you see the 2nd video I did using a road worn strat? But thanks, I will go in after the thing after the 2nd verse.

  • yes, and I like the strat sound on that, but thought it was a very similar lesson as your first. What's cool is the sound differences of the guitars. Really, thank you for your help and patience. It makes me practice a lot more, And I checked out Surf Zombies ... now that's NICE ... I hear Dick Dale, Duane Eddy underlying your original compositions.

  • Nice work Brook, always like seein the videos!!!
