outside of wars, guns and knives can only be used when deadly force is legal, which is risky since the burden of proof is on you if it goes to court. So club weapons are useful in more circumstances.

Now I'm speaking from personal experience (I have no clue what things are like where you live), but if someone were to pull out a pair of nunchaku, baton, or club during a fight, they are more than likely going to be shot--which brings me to my final point. An individual is better trying to avoid the situation due to guns.
