@CorruptCollaboration if your iphone is from at&t it should be working but if it is not from at&t then since your have have iso 5 your baseband also upgraded and even if it is jailbroken your iphone can't read sim cards from other carriers.

@Caseynorman37 No u don't but I recommend u get a jailbreak so u can download Cydia and all the awsum add ons like Installous. What firmware are u in? Don't upgrade further than 4.3.3 as there is no untethered jailbreak available yet just tethered which means if ur iphone battery dies u will need to connect to a computer everytime. I'm downgrading mine to 4.3.3 since iOS 5 has battery issues and Apple hasn't released 5.1 to fix the battery drain bugs.

This works perfectly. My old iPhone 3G is fully updated to V 4.3.5 and not jailbroken and it works for me so now I can give my old 3G to the wife. Here's a few tips though. Do not use the gophone IMEI number if your activating online or activate it through the gophone, it locks the sim to that phone. When using ant of the iPhones with AT&T you cannot get data on prepaid. They make you sign a contract if you want to get a plan with data and as we know costs way more money with all those taxes.
