  • I miss the old days. :(

  • you think everyone else is being expensive look at your rig i can go to home depot and buy pvc and some bolts and make that or maybe even better that like 50 bucks you spent i would only have to spend like $10 dallors

  • @Mryourface1997 prove it

  • Nice

  • make a grenade!!

  • @blockedacidrain they already have

  • This is fucking stupid all the money you spend on this shit, head over to filmriot and they'll show you how to make a better less retarded looking one for 25 bucks

  • This design is fucking retarded, all that money you spend on a diy project you mind as well by the ePhoto Premium DSLR Rig on amazon.com only $60 and its a legit rig,the gun mount is retarded as well very dumb video.

  • Major yellow shift when going from the Panasonic to the Canon. Much better color rendition with the Panasonic....

  • keep doing your videos

  • DOesnt seem very good

  • R.I.P

  • you know when i typed in f(x) ,this shit came up

  • badass one fo sho!

  • yeah....film riot

  • For more videos like this and a community of great minds, visit ThinkStageDOTcom

  • I'm sorry but 48 bucks is not "for cheap"

  • @KlayyJayy It's pretty cheap if you're not 12 years old.

  • @Harlei3 Not twelve!!. I just don't have a massive budget I am a teenager and I can't make much money because work dosen't pay us much.

  • @KlayyJayy Judging by the short on your channel, I don't think you're old enough to work. It's 14 and 9 months in most Australian states and nobody in that video is 14.

  • @Harlei3 I am alot above this we filmed that forever ago and uploaded it this year.

  • what happened to gary!?

  • Not a bad innovation but I've been happy using the Cam Caddie Scorpion. Picked it up for $38 and it's helped me capture dozens of great shots I would have never used otherwise. It also gives me the option to attach lights/mics/monitor. Pretty damn cool.

  • no sample shot on how the quality is? i would think it would still look very shakey, as you walk since its pushed against you, its moving with you, there is no counter weight to keep it still.

  • am i the only one that misses erik?

  • @TheWhiteJayZ no i miss erik too

  • @mrdjfrizzle1 where did he go?

  • Dear Santa, ............

  • 2:02 IS YOUR BACKGROUND ANIME PORN !

  • stop at @0:14 and eric is half devil

  • The second one! It has a muzzle break!

  • what is a better buying choice a dslr or a prosumer camera of about 600 euro

  • @vincentjanse If you can afford a DSLR as well as accessories and you plan on doing legitimate filmmaking then definitely go DSLR.

  • why not jsut an easy steadycam?

  • @Gumpa2 cause aren't those like, SUPER expensive?

  • @gismoe86 omg....i wanted to say, why he has not a stative in the design of an steadycam...

  • nice + I like how he show his teeth while talking. Somehow I keep feeling that he s showing a lot of teeth! Just a random thought.

  • @poplok2002 haha my thoughts exacly

  • I wanna see more of the killer Slinky.

Apparently NOT fun for a girl and a boy.

  • it's ugly....just the way I like it. thanks for being here BFX!

  • @toonberry xD im not gonna risck my dslr on that xD

  • 2:14 LOL!

  • Our no-budget feature premiere's in London in September! It was shot for only $300. If you want, check it out on facebook(dot)com/MemoryLaneMovie

  • MAKE A STABILIZER FOR IPOD & IPHONE!

  • I MISS ERIC!

  • now, could the second one be used to set up for an NX cam? Because one of our problems is getting good less-than-shakey Camera footage on the move.

  • the weight of the camera is not why it looks wobbly. that has almost nothing to do with it. the reason is an issue called "rolling shutter" i don't feel like explaining it here, but just look it up. im right. (btw not saying that hdslrs aren't awesome. i have a D90 and it kicks fucking ass)

I will return the favor, when called upon!

THANK YOU for your help and support!!

  • I made a variation of this. The most important bit being the mounting plate - but I did a slight variation, with the verticle rod I attached a 3 inch stack of washers to the bottom (it extends down about 2 feet from the mounting plate) to counterbalance the camera. It works a fookin treat, and enabled me to shoot beast videos with my £15 rig. Thanks indymogul (check my videos: Hospitality, Detonate and Netsky, all used this cheap and cheerful rig throughout).

  • Why did Eric Go WHY????

  • Reminds me of FilmRiot, but I prefer Filmriot, not to say that this is bad

  • @MartyHITD this is more practical and prop oriented whereas filmriot is more about digital effects and about the cameras and quality. not to mention the episodes are more worth the wait because they are fricking hilarious

  • This is way to complicated for me

  • The last one I like best :D

  • could this still be used for a handy cam style cam?

  • @sortaAWSOMEish all cameras have the same camera mount on the bottom so it should

  • @willtruslow well i meant, would this still stableize the camera

  • @sortaAWSOMEish as long as the camera has a threaded mount on the bottom then yeah it should

  • @willtruslow well i know that it will mount on the thing but will the video be clean without many bumps, shakes, etc

  • @sortaAWSOMEish yeah it should actually be smoother than what ud get from a DSLR mainly due to the fact that the handycams are a lot lighter

  • @willtruslow k.....

btw do u even use the stabalizer?

  • @sortaAWSOMEish yeah why

  • WE want Erick Back THUmbs up!!!!!!

  • You look like DANCE GAVIN DANCE vocalist man.

  • Thanks fir the video!!!

  • I just use my tripod as stabilizer by puting it on my right shoulder and focus with my left hand

But this DIY looks useful too

  • Why don't you just use a snorricam as a stabilizer? It's cheaper to make, it's hands-free, and you can use almost any camera and not just DSLR cameras.

  • Man i love indy mogul! When was it started?

  • Where Did He Bought These Stuff?

Could You Give Me A Page..?

  • non funziona

  • i like one

  • why dont you sell it? i want one

  • Is that a sunday school hymn playing at the end?

  • its actually an airsoft piece not paintball :)

  • 2:15 What the heck is up with this stupid video...... And why is the kid wearing that dorky hat? -_- I wouldn't complain about this video if I didn't see it over and over again from BFX....... BUT, I will say that the kid IS a good actor! ;)

  • I made one of these out of 3/4" pvc pipe+T's+elbows. It works great with my sony camcorder!

  • i bought a canon rebel t2i

but im having some doubts since i have to always adjust the zoom and focus up front. maybe i should have saved up for a real filmmakers camera u know the square over the shoulder to do just pure videos or did i make the right choice?

  • @MsJas666

you made a good choice, just stick with it.

    I use the 550d (t2i) and while there's a learning curve it's a fantastic camera for video.

check out cinema 5d the website, great forum!

  • @MsJas666

I also went for the T2i, and yeah you did make the right choice =)

what u should mean by real filmmaking is learning all about manual focus, as you do with the rebel.

  • @MsJas666 Made the right choice. Why would you want the outdated piece of crap and have to carry film with you? Just learn to use your t2i.

  • Man When Erik was the Host i alwayse watched Indymogul but now i dont i miss him :(

  • u are the shit!

  • i like what ure doing,u re great,awsome man

  • 7d ftw :)

  • i;d rather buy one !

  • that doesn't look very stable for a dslr and whatever lens it may have. -_- coming from someone with a dslr.

  • the second was freaking awesome

  • Indy mogul is awesome! I've been looking for cheap ways to do Backyard Effects, and this rocks!

  • Indy Mogul is sooo trying to be filmriot !!!

  • @gylfasontv its the other way round, but film riot is now better than indy mogul

  • Love His Channel

but his face Impressions are annoying

  • @bananakid630 not sure if you realized but this mount puts up against your shoulder to stabilize. Holding a tripod won't do shit.

  • the second item is by far better and even though the rig is smaller you can just extend the stock, oh yeah the hole in the stock is for the main spring in a tippmann 98

  • LAST COMMENT WHOO! ;D

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo why why why did eric leave he rocked

  • thanks indmogul as a future movie director /producer this really helps out :)

  • Can you guys pls build a Halo Assault Rifle?!

  • Tippmann m4a1 Stock :D <3

  • 2nd

  • use a tripod, or a stick n tape. some of these episodes are really ridicuoulous....

  • @bananaKID630 its hard to carry around a tripod now isn't it and a stick and tape? You sir are fucking stupid

  • @bananaKID630 in some places you can use tripods on streets...sooo a hand held stabilizer can be very helpful

  • for the build "SUPER TIME LAPSE WHOO!"

  • to make 1 cheaper u'll need 2 wooden dowels 1 18in and 1 36 in poster board small box and hot glue price 19.39 good thing for the dowels they scrap ones

  • hahahahaahah i pissed my pants on the slinky part

  • the second one lookst like a paintball weapon :D

  • i did the math

  • its $104

  • I think the light adapters are

    bhphotovideo[dot]com/c/product/53824-REG/Testrite_LSA10.html

  • I can't find that stud adapter on B&H's site :/

  • I've been looking for DIY stabilizers. IndyMogul always saves the day!

  • the wheel!

  • How about ABS piping instead?

  • you grew a beard... wow, Morgan.

J/k, ur stuff has always been helpful.

  • good

  • super time lapse???

  • not your best

  • To SparkyValentine86: For audio cx231 is best affordable solution (allows using 2 XLR mic's) and mounts under the DSLR

Mr. Beck, I'd like to see if it's possible to add a follow focus to your bodypod/stabilizer? Do you prefer preview monitor or z-finder? Thanks =))

  • same here

  • this is cool, but i have a flip camera, so maybe i could modify this to fit a flip.

  • awesome deff. going to use this in the near future

  • thanks indymogul! I rlly wish that Eric wasnt gonna stop being bfx host tho..... hes definitely the best!

  • SWEET been wanting to make this forever, I have a nice camera for our film, it needs stabilizing!

  • I second pedromaiaa's motion

My makeshift dolly (skateboard on string) is really not cutting it anymore.

  • Here's my question, can these cameras be hooked in to pro-quality sound equipment? Most of these cameras are cheaper than prosumer camcorders, and I would love to get one of these digital SLR IF I knew that I could hook it to my mixer and a pro-quality mic. Anyone know?

  • I Have been filming with a Canon 7D and the video is amazing but the built in audio is poor quality. From what I have heard, and by what I have been doing, recording audio separate is the best way to go about getting good audio. I am currently saving up to by a Zoom H4n audio recorder, those seem to be the best for recording audio separately on set.

  • it works , but mics for SLR's are relly expensive

  • hey man, show us how to build a cheap dolly. maybe with a sk8 or a supermarket mini car.

  • they already did check season 1 one or 2

  • 2nd

  • i like the first 1

  • sweet thanks...me and my crew are making a zombie movie...so if you can give us some tips, that would be great.

  • theres an entire zombie FX section on there chanel... start there :D

  • will this work with a camcorder????

  • yea

  • dude why are you stepping down so lame

  • you know the improved one, u could mount a fake gun and make a decent fps film

  • i think the second one looked better, and i think it looked more easy to use, i actually have a real good one that i got for free when i bought a lens on ebay, and i love it

  • This is pretty great thanks a lot for the vid!

  • For the same amount of money as the canon 7D you could just buy a letus adaptor for your HVX200. Then you wouldn't have too worry about the rolling shutter problem that you get with most DSLRs that shoot video.

  • where can find the video of the "killer slinky" at 2:16

  • @quizno1992 it came from one of my videos, 'A Marvelous Thing'. Check it out :D

  • Oh sweet checking it out now! thanks!

  • Evryone SPAM this comment with replyes please, its gonna be awesome!

  • no spiny wheel?

  • @Class0neMagic Follow Focus, and yes I agree.

  • @Class0neMagic the wheel of prosperity

  • Canon EOS 7d, nice.

  • if you could stable the gun stock I think the 2 one is better.

  • Thank you for the tutorial!!!

  • i like the second one it kicks ass

  • ughhh yes!!! i needed this so bad!! thank u indy...u need to show us how to do another track tho..the pvc is a good idea but can b noisy, and a lil flimsy at times

  • thank god

  • Oh good he ditched that ridiculous hipster military style cap with the pre-fraying on the brim.

  • Lol i love the slinky thing

  • i wanna know where i can get an ok camera for really really cheap!

  • Pentax K-X

  • nice vid indy

  • Hey Eric I was wondering if you could make it look like there are lots of people even if i just have a couple of extras.

for instance if i had 30 people in a field but i needed 200 could you do that?

  • I've heard he can build a clone machine for under $50!!!! :P

  • you forgot to spin the wheal and super time lapse

  • Great vid and tutorial. Just a suggestion though. Wouldn't it make an even smoother shot if you added a counterweight to the setup? Like how the SteadyCam Jr. uses.

  • I love indymogul i just wish it was like the old episode once they went trip to jersey it all kinda went downhill

  • Hey

Do you know how much the grand total was for the improved version. I'm debating between making something like this or getting a modosteady. I know the modosteady isnt a great steady cam, but the shoulder support feature looks pretty decent, and I can fold it up for travel.

I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me the final cost of the improved version. Thanks

  • fake tongue? this should be interesting.

  • make a shotgun!

  • Could you please make a full faced rubber mask so I can get started on my next movie thanks.

And keep up the brillient work.

  • ERIC, You forgot to mention the safety orange tip you must use to prevent from getting shot in NYC by the cops thinking thats some kind of gun..LOL.. former NY'er here..LOL..
