I feel the utmost sympathy for the parents of an obviously troubled child, but I also feel for the cops who will have to live and relive with their actions for life.

That's true. And, is exactly the reason why police officers should be of sufficient size and fortitude to be able to these situations without using a firearm.

Size strength speed has nothing to dio with it, its not going to even make the competition close when the other guy has a knife.

Absolute rubbish. He was a child of 58kg. The fact that he had a knife makes almost no difference. Unless he was trained and knew how to use it the knife would be of little benefit.
