This is crazy. Man, I was supposed to be going on a Trip to Malta that weekend before I left from Sig. I was so upset. But I was happy that no one was seriously hurt. Felt bad for the kids that lost there Christmas presents.
I lived here for 3 years in the late 80's. we chose to live off base, near motta (sp?). i recall seeing the light from the lava almost every night from Mt. Etna. Sicily is no Iceland, but i do have fond memories of it. Lived in an orchard, closest neighbor was 20 miles away. i did become friends with a sheep herder named mario whose path brought him past my house. He didnt speak much english and i didnt speak much italian but we managed. got shot at by farmers for "borrowing" fruit. crazy times

the crazy thing is i remember when these apartments were being built and how bad it used to flood down there even during construction. they should've known it was gonna be like that
I'm italian and I live in Catania near Sigonella.I remember because that was so terrible that many people died(expecially boy who driven a moto) and I was doing the same and.I was lucky because a men rescued me.God save me!But it was drammatic
