  • I wish I could just fall in love by kissing.

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know the song at 00:47 ?

  • @Deliverater "Kissing you" by Des'ree

  • What is the song called when there in the elevator i carnt find it anywhere :/ x

  • I like the part where Romeo falls alover the place then hides against the plant thingy. :T

Everyone in my class luaghed. XD

Then they started making out. :|

  • kay i don't care whether or not rosaline wanted to marry or not...she must be one stupid/crazy person to not love romeo...i mean who could NOT love romeo here?! <3

  • 3:35 to 3:45 is frakin hilarious. That guy with the pink hair man....

  • does anyone else think its funny when leo sneaks in to juliets house and is suppose to be quiet but is as loud as he could possably be and did anyone else see his face when he is on the vine but instead of juliet coming out its the nurse and he makes a funny face, haha thats hillariouse!

  • man i love this version better than any i have seen, some people disagree but the acting is so much better, not just because leo is in it. They really did a good jo on this film and great doesnt do it justice, although many people hate it sence its in modern times, what will people do in the future i mean people will update it more sooner or later right? why not now? They did a great job on acting you can really tell that they were inlove and the ending was spectacular, this film is amazing!

  • claire danes is so f*ckin lucky getting 2 make out wit leo

  • can someone please tell me what the music is called when they are in the elevator at the begining please comment back, i love that part, its so romantic and so pretty , the music, not the kissing part lol

  • @spiritandrain101 Still "Kissing you" by Des'ree. If people listened to the song from start to finish they'd know that :)

  • @jhkl123456 ya i know what it is now but thanks anyways:)

  • wow, ok. Sooo, he goes to a party made by the capulets, finds a chick, and is surprised that she is capulet? Plus, what kind of guy goes that fast?

  • @invadification ok if u dont like this amazing film and most romantic and most tragic love story of all time then put your rude comments some were else because everyone else appriciates this movie. The story goes like this, romeo goes to her party and when they meet they instantly fall in love, but the families are enimies. they end up killing themselves because of the families and there love for eachother, read about it and dont question shakespear because this is better what u could do.

  • @invadification In case you haven't ever read Shakespeare that is the whole point of the play: young love is stupid, fast and intoxicating. That is literally what Romeo and Juliet is all about

  • @Chucklecrackers yes, I have read shakespeare. that is as a matter of fact why I am watching this. otherwise, I would have been somewhere else spending my time better. anyway, you do have a valid point.

  • i miss these two together LEO and CLAIRE 4 ever! btw has anyone seen revolutionary road and evening? i heard those films where terrible but leo n claire r just adorable together and i love this movie

  • @kiki60730 REVOLUTIONARY ROAD IS GREAT

  • Bravo!

Beautiful connection from Leo and Claire.

    -Miss De Jian

  • @jimvs1 ur a teacher?

  • @bosnianpro15

    No,I'm a teen.

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

  • ooohh Leo!!! "faith turned to despair".. he's soo charming when he says that!!

  • *an arranged marriage

  • @zombiechaos89

Lady Capulet doesn't really love Capulet, it was most likely and arranged marriage for money. Also, if you notice, Capulet is flirting and kissing other women and the party, and they don't really care. And they are both really drunk and oblivious so....

  • I have so much sexual tension for Leonardo it's seriously a problem. But I'm okay with that.

  • i don't know how many times i've seen this movie. since i was bout 9 when it was in theaters.

  • i had a love like this but we didnt die..

  • I am so mad i never have love like Romeo and Juliet great movie.

  • Right when Romeo says, "is she a Capulet?" Just breaks my heart..

I have a question though, it always struck me as odd that I have not seen anyone ask this before but what the hell is up with her mother? One minute she's kissing Juilet's cousin, Tybalt then Dave aka Paris who is suppose to be marrying Juilet grabs her mother's ass(I think?), what's up with that? Could only be because it's a party and they're all getting drunk but I just always found that as odd. XD

  • @zombiechaos89 I thought the SAME thing....but i assumed it was normal behavior since nobody really said anything about it.

  • (crying) I wish that I will get love first sight like that. That is not fair.

  • Thumbs up if you think Leonardo Dicaprio is sexi in this movie

  • ur sound is too low trust me :(

  • i want download this movie please i want link download this movie pleassseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • who ever disliked this obviously a capulet seeing their daughter hook up with dicaprio...

  • Shakespeare in love its good as well it relates to this movie :) Shakespeare was so romantic :)

  • 96 & 97 were two good years for Leonardo. Back to back hit. Romeo and Juliet and Titanic. This guy rocks.

  • I love romeo and juliet just sad they die at the end :'(

  • thank you so much for the video... i love romeo and juliet!!

  • I want a Romeo :( any girl that got to costar with the young Leo was so fukin lucky x

  • They are sooo cute couple....! !

Although I already know what happens in the last of story, how I wished their happy ending.

  • my fave film ever!!

  • even though they die, it makes me want to be Juliet! The way they act - it's amazing! Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes did a wonderful job, can't wait to watch this in English, even though I've seen it a dozen times! I'm 12 years old btw!

    LEO <333

  • idk if its just me but does she look almost like miranda cosgrove..? 2:56

  • the maid reminds me of daroada from gossip girl

  • 7:21 hahaha

  • Come on guys..each one of u have different opinions, but don't put the blame on the director of the movie or on someone else..love is different every time this is what everyone wants to show by changing the novel..think of it ;romeo and juliet in 2011 or 1996..why not?We saw them while shakepreare was alive and after in the same way..couldn't we watch them with the habbits that WE have today??

  • @myrto586, there's ONLY ONE WAY to film a classic story, and that is: how the author intended (ie. Romeo and Juliet-16th century Verona, Julius Caesar-44 B.C. Rome, etc.)

  • @AncientHistoryBuff everyone has his point of view....this movie became famous for what it is...if someone doesnt like it he can watch the 1968 movie which is completely different from this..isn't this right??:)

  • @myrto586, yea, but i'm just saying what i think. when it comes to a classic, though, you DON'T mess with it. just my opinion.

  • @AncientHistoryBuff ok,i understand..everyone has the right to have an opinion....

  • what did he say???......0:34

  • @AncientHistoryBuff The script is word for word Shakespeare, just like the other 2 film adaptations you named. The setting was changed to attract younger generations to this epic love story. I think it was beautifully done, and more exiciting than the 60's version. Go and nitpick Steven King's movie adaptations of his books since they are actually chopped to shit, unlike this film.

  • @looker6713, i think it's plain studpidity and idiocy to change the setting simply to attrack younger audience.s i nearly threw up during the scene where Mercutio (who, inexplicably, is black in this version; whenever a character is black, Shakespeare specifies it i the Dramatis Personae) shows up to the Capulets' old-accustom'd feast in drag.

  • @looker6713 Errm, Are you saying The Shining and IT were shit? I'll admit the other movies adapted from Stephen King novels were shit, but not those two.

  • @ArthurYannLB in comparison to the books that they were based from. I did not mean all Stephen King's movies are shit, I was only pointing out that many film adaptations chop up the original story. Ancient History Buff keeps hating on this film and I told him to critique movies that are chopped up versions of their stories since this is wod for word Shakespeare.

  • @looker6713 actually this isn't word for word but very similar

  • @super1upmushroom Where is it different? It's been well over a decade since I've read "Romeo and Juliet", but we did watch this in school with the actual play's script. As far as I remember this is the same word for word. There are a couple parts whereas they speak very quickly and the words sound mumbled, but they are all there. Can you tell me where the difference in script is? I'd like to know. :)

  • if this piece of crap can be uploaded to YouTube, why not the classic (and arguably more faithful) 1968 version starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey? or the 1936 film version starring Leslie Howard, Norma Shearer, Edna Olivier, Jon Barrymore and Basil Rathbone? I had to see this sorry excuse for a film in school, and hated every minute of it. Juliet blowing her brains out with a gun? Romeo on Ecstasy? Mercutio in drag? Juliet waking up just as Romeo is dying? That and more inconsistencies

  • @AncientHistoryBuff I had to study the differences in the movies at school and it's just a modern interperatation. You have to accept the world is always changing and society is too. The whole love at first sight does happen anymore and when it did back in the day it was a crush, people weren't very mature in that department hence why they got married so easily etc. So that's why they added Ecstasy (the love drug) into this movie to make up for it, Juliet is also very young and immature so

  • together they fall in love at first sight (Romeo being intoxicated). I think it's a great movie the way they've replaced swords with gun and horse with car. The older version is still a classic but this in my opinion is just as good!

  • @silverblade21, bullshit. if you're gonna do a film version of a play, DO IT CORRECTLY, and this idiot Luhrman fucked it up big-time.

  • @AncientHistoryBuff Well, obviously you don't understand when it comes to turing a play to movie. Don't be calling Luhrman an idiot, your making yourself sound like one. You can't alway's follow what the original script goes by, especially Romeo & Juliet. Say this, if you're in the entertainment business and if you write a play, and it later on becomes a movie, your going to have to go by what your agent say or the other people who's involved with the production.

  • @AncientHistoryBuff And also remember, what I learned is not everything will go by the book or the play or the manuscript, so comprehend that. You are blaming one person for one movie from a play that ShakesSpeare wrote, if you don't like what they did to the movie from the play, not to sound rude, but go try and write a play yourself, and see if your play is going to be followed in a movie because you may have 30% that your masterpiece won't be followed in the movie.

  • @justinbieberfan26423, oh shut up. it's one thing to make changes to a novel turned into a movie (ie. Gone With The Wind, Ben-Hur), but CHANGING THE SETTING simply to cater to a lazy, stupid and dumb audience who wouldn't even see a film version of one of Shakespeare's plays (or of any classic, for that matter) unless there's violence, sex and drugs is pure heresy, next to changing anything from the Bible for a film version or idiots who don't want to read the KJV simply because they're lazy.

  • hahahaha leo's face when he saw the maid coming out the room

    @5:41

  • Claire Danes was the best choice for Juliet in my opinion...if only Kate Winslet could have taken her place

  • lol sorry we saw a clip of this at stratford upon avon and my friend made me write what he said "dem ones where your bf makes you fall into pool" haha good times good times

  • the musik is really well chosen and the kiss is amazing

  • i like the 1968 version way more, but this is good too.. but not really realistic. Why would they kiss so fast? They don't know each other at all. I like both actors in previous movie better too.

  • @HoneybunchBunny I think it's supposed to be unrealistic. It reflects that of the actual play.

Romeo and Juliet fall in love so completely, and so fast without the knowledge that it is bound to fail ultimately resulting in their deaths. So the quickened pace of they're love affair on film, is the chosen way of expressing this in film with this particular rendition and director's style.

  • they were frenching

  • Juliet's mother is so funny!
