Thanks for the link. I'm pretty certain that's the version I once had even though the last time I heard it was over 50 years ago! Many, many thanks again.
You realize, of course, that Alexander Courage wrote the "Star Trek" theme after being inspired by this song - especially the chuga-chuga train engine beat. So, indeed, the Starship Enterprise warped Beyond the Blue Horizon in each episode.
Originally featured {and introduced by Jeanette McDonald} in the 1930 Paramount musical "Monte Carlo"- Olsen's recording was made in Hollywood on September 5, 1930.
No way! I admire your artwork, and 7 gorgeous images are more than enough. I (the real technical idiot) couldn't begin to do this. I meant that I wished this music would last longer.
Beyond the blue horizon lies a land composed solely of the best music of the 1920's and 30's.
I think Milton used a similar image in Paradise Lost. A window seat, please, with velvet curtains and a bottle of the finest wine this side of the moon.
Unique arrangement. Love the CHOO CHOO TRAIN sound effects. I would have made the journey in reverse from the Pacific Northwest I would have boarded the Orient Express bound for Paris or Venice.
Great song! I love the uplifting songs of this era. Thanks for posting!
