That's a lot of power for an engine that small. Forgive me for this noobish question, but the thing I don't understand is that Honda gives this engine 197 hp stock and with aftermarket parts, it produces a lot more power. Why doesn't Honda put out a K20 engine with, say 230 BHP or 220?

They do. Its the k20a (Type-R). Its only available in Japan though. They don't have them in USDM hondas because our pump gas only goes up to 91 octane and the R-spec gets its extra power from higher compression which requires higher grade gas. You can get the same power with a USDM k20 with parts (header and cams) but honda can't make them like that because they can't meet emissions standards with those parts.

no no i havent done the k swap, I plan to is what I was saying, and my parts list added up to $10,000 because i picked the best of the best for a clean perfect swap, a basic k swap is supposed to cost around $6000

for anyone here interested in the k20 swap, here is some info, they are not difficult even easier than a b16 actually its just alot more work because everthing has to be changed over, but most of it is bolt in, the only downside is the pricetag, $10,000 for me

243hp seems like alot until you realize its a k20a that comes with 220 stock, now get k pro and boost 243 to 250hp, perfect for any crx, im getting a k20a in mine

Very nice swap, is the intake an AEM for a rsx?, also I plan to put a k20a in my rex aswell but the only thing im unsure of is the fuel lines/rail/and pressure regulator

I love how people raved about the zr1 beating the baseline GT-R while failing to see that the corvette was completely maxed out at that point while the GT-R hadn't even been out long enough to have higher-spec trims.
