My guinea pigs hair is all like fuzzy i have three left and one day (long ago) i hade like 11 guineapigs and i have sold 4 lets see... one where giving birth to 2 and one other where giving birth to 4 then she gave birth to 4 again and her baby gave birth to 2 but then she died D´: and then the mom needed to take care of her babys and then 2 died and then 1 then 1 then the 2 left where living kinda long then they died and we have one from the mom that gave birth to 2 babys and one from the other

@Kikyo361 No, they don't. I've had female guinea pigs for years and they certainly don't get periods. Animals go into a span when they go into heat - dogs that are not spayed will go into a 'period' moment with either clear or bloody like discharge. Guinea pig females go into heat every 17 to 25 days for one day. If a female guinea pig is showing blood, then she could have a urinary tract infection and that's not normal or healthy.

Thank you for being a great piggy parent and adopting from a rescue. I am trying to get the word everywhere that if you want piggies PLEASE don't buy from a pet store, there are hundreds of thousands abandoned, abused and neglected every year and if the shelters and guinea pig rescues an't place them in homes, healthy ones are often put to sleep. Please tell everyone to adopt a rescue or shelter pig, and research their cage & food needs before you adopt. Your pigs are beautiful and so happy!!

well, let me try to help ya, i dont have guinea pigs, cuz my mom says that poor animals, they cant live in their habitat...etc, but i think i know pretty much a lot for watching a lot of videos of piggies, so. First, try making tricks and playing with them, like the circle trick, give them teir favorite food, when washing them be carefull and nice, just, try not being rude or anithing, that can make it, and if that wont work, write back, and if it does, write back too, bye!...julian

how often do you handle them? it's not that difficult to keep a guinea pig happy. They like lots of attention. Try holding them on your lap and petting them while watching TV, and feeding them treats from your hand. I have three guinea pigs, too =).

I personally raise all mine for babies because in there baby state they have to be interacted with so they can learn to live with humans I had a bout two I rescued a while back and they we're already full grown we got one who we finally trained to like humans but the other one didn't want any thing to do with them. Any hows it really depends on the mind set of a guinea pig to see if you can turn it a round.

I have a side door on my piggie's cage and I just reach two hands in and gently but firmly grasp him by his body, closer to the back of the head. Then I carefully pull him out. All guinea pigs will squirm a little, don't worry! Just let it get used to being taken out.
