  • Can't wait to play this within a week for my state's Honors Band Festival

  • We played this in Wind Symphony my freshman year. I played piccolo. How did I do that? lol

  • This performance is great, but I hear a lot of the woodwinds pushing tempo and some even kicking tempo out of the door (only in the beginning though) TONE IS FANTABULUS!!! Great performance.

  • I love the first BIG BANG sound!

  • Their percussion solo 8:49 sounds one of the best

  • omg the Trombone part is awesome!

  • I graduated high school today and this was my favorite ever piece of music that i played in high school two years ago. Great job it really brought me back

  • wow, we tried playing this piece for Southeast Kansas District band, 2011...we failed... i have so much respect for any band who can play this song!!! cudos for all performers involved!!!

  • What's that trill at the end? Like what note?

  • @dudeinblack24 You probably did the research already, but I'll tell you anyways. The very last note was a french horn and tuba rip.

  • @dudeinblack24 idk for everyone but for 1st clarinet its a alltisimo F# to G trill

  • Gotta love the flutter tongue!! Especially on the flutes. And horn rips. My oh my do I love those. It's one of my favorite things to do on the horn. Lyrical solos and horn rips.

  • Dont critisize this amazing piece. Everyones human. We make mistakes.

  • Every performance isn't perfect. Obviously this is very good so yea there are a few issues here and there. IT's called being human. THis piece is beautiful how it is so don't start off by critisizing it.

  • at 2:45 the director was amazing!!! :D I also like the alto sax solos :D

  • We're playing this in my High School concert band right now :)

  • The tempo is all over the place

  • @JumeisJume it's supposed to be like that Ticheli wrote that into the music it's not specifically the band's enterpritation of the music not completely anyway

  • @dyshilton It just feels like certain elements of the piece are rushed

  • saxophone

  • the name of the piece is spelled wrong and to the preformers....keep time ~.~

  • @Nick1flute I think it's spelled that way because in spanish the "v" and the "b" are really similar.

  • @homsar456 no they are not really similar they make similar sounds but if you spelled a word with a "v" in it with a "b" instead it would have an etirely different meaning

  • great piece..i remember performing this a couple years ago...percussion's just got to watch their time a little bit...marimba was definetely a few clicks slow at times...cnt say much about the winds because i'm a percussionist lol..nice tone though in the clarinet section nd much praise is due for the horns. i

  • the trombones at their first entrance were off clearly unless the sound echoed?

  • amazing performance...love the energy and intensity of the work, conductor, and players! Excepcional!

  • sounds amazing! typo at the beginning, but other than that, class.

  • loved the horn rips

  • @rasendori9 I love playing those!!

  • I love this piece! Clarinets and saxaphones are so awesome when moving with the piece!! Excellent performance!

  • @trombonehawaii way to spell saxOphone wrong. :D

  • Vesu"B"ius?

  • Not Bad! I Really Liked It! I Played This For UIL Once. I've Heard The Actual Recording of Vesuvius. It's A Little Too Rushed But Great! And The Brass Needs To Tone Down And Too Much Sticoto. Sorry! All In All Great!!!!! ^.^ You Get Straight 1s HeHe

  • percussion is a little under-pronounced, but oh well. i have the chance to play it over the summer as an 8th grader

  • As an 8th grader? Wow.

  • @AKAcarmad bull shit.

  • I jizzed at around 2:55

  • @gibsonlespaulsg lol, yeah, that's my favorite part, for sure.

  • the clarinet solo was awesome! I played the soli on this song for UIL today. It rox! ;D

  • Omg tellz me about it!!!!!

i play it right now... first chair clarinet!!! :D

last year i played this first bassoon... pretty fun parts.... love the flutter tongue ;D

  • @saxclaranetbasson same as me, except last year. this year half our band is freshmen, so they can't pull it off

  • its got a lot of jazzzy things in it like the flutter tonguing and heavy sax solis. cool sort of?

  • a little dissapointed with this performance. The conductoer tried his best but the grove could be felt. Minor mistakes in the percussion section altho at measure 262-263 was a spectacular tenor drum/ timpani fill.

  • I don't want to pick on your spelling, but..... vesuVius....

  • This is a really good group! Awesome job!!!
