I was John's private student for 5 years . I live in Rappahanock parish, Va. and he lived 2 counties away. I would go down on Sat. and he would play the tune, break it down and put it on tape. We'd play for 8 hours, go into town and eat chinese food. He'd always say" you get whatever you want". I loved him so, like a poppa. Id spend the night in his humble spare room and get up the next day and play 4 more hours. I could tell you so much about this humble man..

Great playing and singing-almost sounds like Skip James too. Looks like steel fingerpicks and plastic thumbpick. I hope he taught you to play this.
