One point you are missing here, RealCatholicTV, is that the liberals in charge of the Church WANT to destroy it. They are NOT ignorant about what they are doing and showing proof of the 3 of every 4 Catholics no longer practice does NOT matter to them. They are in positions of power, just like liberal democrats and like it there. The good or bad results of their immoral or heretical doctrines matter to them only as much as it helps keep them in the comfortable position they are in.
What a bitter, generalizing video. Did you ever think that it isn't necessarily the fault of the person preaching the Gospel but instead that people are rejecting the change of heart and mind that we are called to make? Many find it easier to simply live like everyone else.
@krezzykrezz But why are they finding it like this NOW? What has changed? We are not bemoaning a lack of Catholicism, but a FALLING OFF of Catholicism. Why aren't people as faithful as they were before? People have always found living like everyone else easier - but why are so MANY Catholics choosing to abandon the faith and move to sin and heathenism? Or is this answer too bitter and generalizing for you?
@RealCatholicTV First, we are talking about the United States or North America, correct? If not, then I have no idea. I believe that with the media and technology that exists now, we are all faced with "near occasions of sin" more easily than before. I picked up a "health" magazine at my doctor's office today and after about 3 or 4 page turns I was faced with a picture that was, if not pornographic, was the next worst thing. Also, the 1960's saw the height of a revolution against morality. More
@krezzykrezz But who PRODUCES that stuff? Who thinks that sort of thing is okay to display? People who should be led in their spiritual choices by the Church - and for whom the Church has failed. We have priests who declare contraception and abortion are okay. We have priests who have no problem with pornography and masturbation and gay "marriage". It is easy to say the world is so bad priests can't stem the tide, but how did the world GET like that? The clergy MUST share the blame with us.
The video did make me laugh. But the sad thing is 'Catholicism' has been destroyed and rather than being 'salt' and 'light' to non-catholics, catholics are just the same as other people. Divorce, abortion, contraception, don't have a clue about their faith etc. But with the internet the Catholic faith is being taught properly. Catholicism is a life style that is opposed to this world, it's total commitment. I've had to take a hard look at myself and all honesty my faith was 'manure.'
I agree with everything you are saying RealCatholicTV but I once heard a priest I respect say on this very matter "What you don't understand is this group (liberals/progressives/heretics) seeks the loss of faith this is WHAT THEY WANT" They WANT the reduction and destruction of the Catholic Church.
We need to face the fact that there are people from within the Church who do NOT want her to survive, who actively seek Her destruction. Not all are misled but well intentioned...
@WinefrideofWales AMEN! and they've done it! We "straight" RCs are a 'remnant! 2/3 of the Bishops in the USA, moved guilty priests around to avoid 'punishment'. 2/3rds!!!!!
Some 'progressives' admit that things are bad but they blame us 'traditionalists'! They think if we go more and more their way, things will be wonderful. Take a look at the Irish 'Association of Catholic (?) Priests' site for confirmation that they blame us.
@alonelychild No; Vatican II is very clear on what is permitted, and what is being done is not. What is to blame is people who are doing evil and CLAIMING they are doing it in "the spirit of Vatican II" when they are really just engaging with modernism and other heresies.
I want to thank you for all you do. I pray for our church but not only do I pray I speak out. I call Catholic radio, I call the Bishops all over the United States, I stand up to clergy if I feel they are wrong. UNTIL WE THE FAITHFUL STAND UP AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. There is power in the TRUTH and Numbers. People don't think your voice will not matter it will we have to call and speak out everywhere.
When i listen to this vortex i feel so sick, imagine in how putrid the world is gonna become. I feel desperate for thr future generation even though they may not even feel it
@GnlMachoman It is rather grim it would seem. But we have to remember what Christ said: ".....the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it....", all we can do is remain faithful to Jesus and His Church. Pray and stop the silence, it will take all of us! It is our faith, wherever heretics are we must drive them out! God bless!
I was laughing so loud through this.... I'll be able to help you on that list of Catholic programs in.... Oh WAIT A MINUTE...... I have to change my light bulbs again, on top of my head.... :D
My problem is this: When are we going to see vocations start to increase? My parish priest is openly homosexual and he thinks that, in the future, the Church will have to change its stance regarding homosexual cleygy - then we will have a massive influx of new vocations because gay men are more attracted to the priesthood than heterosexual ones. He may have a point, but is this really right? I'd rather have women priests myself.
@livedevol Women cannot be priests - the Church has dogmatically declared this. And how can there be a "massive" influx of vocations when about 1 or 2% of men are homosexual - are there hundreds of gay men just waiting to become priests, but who can't right now? No, there aren't. This priest's views are silly and illogical.
Just an interesting addition to your facts, in my diocese there are no longer marriage preparation courses offered because of lack of numbers. When my future wife and I asked for one our priest recommends he gave us a book. No wonder divorce rates are on the rise and sacramental marriages are on the decline.
In my parish some times it feals more like a social club in which the "pastor" is the happy go lucky president. well the time has come for some reformations in the church, but that means a new house for the priests with a beter pool along with other buildings that do not build up our faith. I felt sad about that as I sat there listening to this priest asking the faithful to sacrifise for the Lord. At that moment the thought of a perpetual adoration chapel is needed more than that new pool.
No problem in my Parish - it must be the holiest in the country. Sometimes there are only about three of us who don't go to Communion, and there are only about ten who apparently need to go to Confession on Saturdays.
I´m impressed. Ex-protestants that have returned to the "very difficult" understanding of the catholic faith, are eager for being HOLY. Hats off for this brothers. You are heroes (faith above all) and the future of the church.
Yet there are many progressives killing the souls of so many ...
One pill... someone took a dog into my parrish not long ago. The THEOLOGIST, and also musician of my parrish said: "Ohhh, It´s also a creature of God".
In the area of vocations there is one thing we can be happy about. The religious orders that are growing are the ones where the nuns wear habits - where they are more traditional (e.g., Nashville Dominicans) while the pantsuit wiccan ones are the ones shriveling up and dying. And hearing from seminarians, it seems that the majority of them are more traditional than their professors (look up young fogeys.) The next generation of clergy and religious is where our hope lies (second to the Lord.)
I start RCIA in Sept..looking forward to it! I want in the Church NOW! Showed my baptism to the deacon so I have part of it covered. I cant seem to get enough of the church and it's teachings. Have been to Mass and tonight, stations of the cross. Had a crucifix and rosary blessed so things are coming together. This youtube channel is in-valuable. I like the 'take no prisoners' attitude. Thanks M. Voris!
The statistics are damning. Where are you getting them ? Are our Bishops aware of this ? If so, why are they continuing their ways with whatever they are doing, instead of changing for the better ??
Yup, we have a lot of work to do, but we know who wins in the end. I myself was a victim of autrociously awful catechesis and as a result lapsed from the faith. I had a radical conversion to our Blessed Lord and His Church (it makes me wonder who was praying for me throughout my 'secular life'). The liberal orders and dioceses are slowly but surely dying out as their disciples apostasize in droves. There will be a new spring time, but not without great sacrifice from the faithful.
so depressing. Oh I know: Pray. Love the Church. Teach others to love her too. I do try. Personally I go to a Byzantine church. There is truth and beauty and they are faithful to the Magesterium
@SuperPete333 We pray for the conversion of all who are Catholic too (and make videos etc. to assist with this, as I'm certain you talk to people to try to convert them). We have faith in the Holy Spirit - but that does NOT excuse us from doing nothing. Cynicism? Where is cynicism where we just report the simple FACTS of the matter? The Church IS collapsing in every measurable way - not the Bride of Christ herself, but the human instituion. It isn't pride to suggest we might have to do something
@RealCatholicTV Yes, convert who you can, sometimes you just need to pray for the Holy Spirit to change their heart. We need to reconquer the Western World. We did not conquer Rome by conversion alone, we conquered Rome by conception. We out-bred our Pagan enemies and their decadence. We shall rise again like a Phoenix. Right now genuine Catholics are raising the next generation of orthodox Catholic clergy. They will restore the Church and save the lost.
So true! When I was a young teenager, pre-Vatican2, the Masses were filled to capacity; standing room only. I wonder how things will be when these young people grow up and raise fanilies. I live across form a Middle School, and the children finish for the day, you should hear them and see how they behave. The language alone would cause a sailor to blush. When these Catholics raise their families, do you think most of them will even mention God? I fear not.
