How can people argue Kobe's a better clutch player? When the Lakers have their backs to the wall and are about to get knocked out, Kobe is at his absolute worst. Look at 2003, 2004, 2005 (oops, missed the playoffs), 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011. All of the Lakers elimination games, Kobe's been pretty bad. If Kobe could consistently dunk over centers and league leading defenders & had the capability of throwing down from the free throw line, he would be doing that. Jordan is still a better player. As a player Kobe still takes a lot of silly and difficult shots. Kobe is still a much worse defender. Jordan was always a good defender and tended to pass the ball out if he had a shot he thought was too difficult. Kobe also won 3 championships with Shaq and didn't win Finals MVP once, whereas Jordan won the MVP every time he won a championship. Kobe is good but Jordan is better.

(Again, they're career averages are near identical and Kobe has years left to either decline or get better) However, because that criteria is absurd anyway, well, who cares... @bshen88 what the woman said was right. kobe is a better shooter. the reason why jordan has the better fg% is because most of his points came from driving through the basket. jordan only made 581 three points, while kobe has over 1600. kobe has more range and can shoot impossible shots, but jordan did have a better shot selection.

I agree that Kobe is a better 3 point shooter but if you watch any of MJs games early in his career, he was killing the mid range shot even back then. kobe is extremely similar to jordan in the sense that they both started off as highflyers when they were young but couldnt shoot, then started to improve their jumpers to a rediculous level where making shots were automatic in almost any circumstance, no one will ever be like jordan, just like there wont ever be another kobe bryant, they are both in a class of there own.

I think David Aldridge now very much about basketball but that's (so I quote Stephen A. Smith) blasphemus to say that Kobe is a better clutch player than Michael. Jordan literally won playoff series and championships in the last seconds of the game and if he could not get the shot, he passed it to a teammate. Kobe shoots just over 30 % in clutch and is known to rather take a difficult shot when being triple team'd than pass it to a open teammate.

How can people argue Kobe's a better clutch player? When the Lakers have their backs to the wall and are about to get knocked out, Kobe is at his absolute worst. Look at 2003, 2004, 2005 (oops, missed the playoffs), 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011. All of the Lakers elimination games, Kobe's been pretty bad. I'll give Kobe this much: he was unbelievable in the end of games in 2010 with 5 game-winning buzzer beaters, but that was the exception, not the rule, for his career.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with the idea that Kobe shoots more on the outside because he isn't as capable dominating on the inside. If Kobe could consistently dunk over centers and league leading defenders & had the capability of throwing down from the free throw line, he would be doing that. Kobe also has more pressure on him shooting because MJ had a killer fade that cleared enough space on any defender. This does not make Kobe better, it means he's capable of taking what he can get.

Better shooter = can shoot with better accuracy. Wise shooter = Doesnt force shots and only shoots when he has the space. Watch kobe clips faggot, kobe pump fakes doesnt make the defender go up with 15 seconds on the Shot clock but still shoot, etc and KNOW SOME BASKETBALL.
