This is a dialect in Kannada like Hindi in UP, Delhi or Bihar where it differs the way they talk. It takes a little bit effort to undestand because this kannada can make it naturally funny when compared to other parts of karnataka. For some reason, current generation has no or very little exposure to this kannada dialect which is second largest in Karnataka.

I had a chance to attend a Hasya sanje in JSS College Bangalore where Pranesh, Sudha Bargur and Narishima Joshi performed. I noticed most of the jokes were REPEATED and it was badly presented. There is a lack of spontaneity and wittiness in his presentation.

First time listeners may enjoy his show.
