I believe this was the first TV report of the attack on the World Trade Center, and just seconds after the first radio report (on New York's WCBS Radio; WCBS was in the midst of a regularly-scheduled traffic report and their traffic copter reporter noted smoke coming out of 1 World Trade Center).
Other New York stations and the networks wouldn't go on the air with their first bulletins until about two minutes later.

i for one think it was planned so they could rebuld in that area and osama bin laden and sadamn hussien were the scape goats .the bushes were trying for pay back on the first war .thiswas thier way of going to war .and bush actually lost the election against gore but gore wouldnt go for the war so they used bushes brother at the time the gov.of florida to cheat the ecletion count in florida so bush would take office
not one ground witness sees or hears any plane just like all other stations interesting how only fake callers and ones that look at moniters are the only ones who see a plane NO ONE SAW A PLANE IN OR AROUND THE FKING TOWER

man, i am learning to much about 911, never did see the news reports that morning, i slept in that day after coming home the previous day after 3 weeks on the road(truck driver) woke up turned my pc on and saw the msn home page headline around 9:30am cst , thought it was something for a new movie at first till i read the whole story.

@InsecurePsychotic yes, they are calm, not bc they werent scared, but bc they have to be professional at all times. their priority is to report the news in a calm, orderly fashion.
also, until the second plane crashed, it was widely believed that the first tower was an accident.
@rubber4532 if you recall, coverage started before the first plane hit (Naudet documentary) and Dick Oliver (the reporter's voice that keeps reporting about "the tremendous boom") was virtually on the scene as it happened.

Yep, the trailer for the film Zoolander was interrupted by the first coverage of the attacks. The film came out on September 28, 2001, two weeks after the attacks.

David, WNYW cameraman, first eyewitness ever on the ground (not including Dick):
"Incredible explosion. Very very loud"
Second eyewitness on the ground:
"It sounded like a bomb"
Dick then "It could be something internal".
First interview on the ground ever:
Dick: "It's was hit by something or was something inside?"
Woman: "It was inside, it was inside".
And after that, the transmission is over (due to "technical problems") and no more eyewitness on the ground, only by phone.
