You don't have to be religious to enjoy listening to David Phelps sing this type of song. I discovered him on Youtube about 3 years ago and I listen to him all the time, and, even though I am an atheist, this type of song/singing really gives me a good feeling. When I see the faces of some of the singers, it almost makes me want to believe whatever it is that they believe. Unfortunately, my logic will not let me believe something that is illogical. Still, I love David Phelps.

@oldnewbie45 It's easy to bypass stuff. Look for names you know and follow the selections down the side to find other things you didn't know existed. I start with Gaither vocal band, pull each artist up by name, then go through groups and soloists listed in the video, I stayed up all all night -- last night (it was after 7am when I went to sleep) going song by song, and here I am again. Look for songs you know. preachers you know. EASY to bypass stuff u don't want to see.

I am disgusted with youtubes front page. They always have at least 4 popular videos they are promoting and they are generally smut, at best. As a Christian I find that trash so offensive I really want to just quit looking at youtube altogether. Does anyone know a way I can bypass what the world has come to accept as "normal"? GVB is a gift from God. All of the line ups have sung to the glory of God, I will say that my favorite line up is David, Guy, Russ and Bill. We all have our favorites, but this is also a great line up. David is truly singing to the glory of God.

I Thank God that Bill sang because he is teaching us that it does not matter waht you sound like but that you sing from all you have to the Lord. I did a review of my Favorites and am somewhat surprised that I did not select any of the "I Do Believe" video songs.

Perhaps I assumed I did ... because ...

Not a week goes by without me listening to the CD ... to and from work.

I corrected that mistake :)

"I Do Believe" is among my favorite CDs.

Leaving the GVB was a HUGE mistake, he has fallen off the face of the earth since.

I've heard MANY MANY gospel singers, and David Phelps is the best I've ever heard. I've been told that he doesn't sing falsetto on the high notes, just raw vocal power. Amazing.

I first learned to love David's voice within GVB (bought a bunch of the Gaither/GVB DvDs,

including this one ... "I Do Believe").

... and now I love David's voice as a Solo.

There are plenty of DvDs/CDs that have David Phelps in both formats (GVB and Solo).

Do I wish he stayed in GVB? ... Yes.

Do I love his Solo work? ... Yes.

It seems to me that we are all blessed and inspired by his vocals as a member of GVB and/or as a Solo artist.

The 'I Do Believe' video really seems to have captured some of David Phelp's absolute best singing. His final note on this song is wonderful; listen to the way he breaks into vibrato and 'settles in' with the rest of the quartet just at the point at which they resolve the chord. My goodness, but that's beautiful!
