  • this guy died??? that is terrible!!

i was actually at The Peco Foods Hatchey when this tornado came through!!! WoW

  • RIP Andy.

  • Some asshole drunk ended this guy's life. Fuck drunks.

  • RIP to andy gabrielson,he passed away on feb.5th 2012. he was a great storm chaser. this is one of his best videos in my opinion.

  • i was recently checking radar maps and saw that they might be the same tornado

  • I live here this is our tornado (Philadelhpia ms)

To the right at 0:55 That is Camel Back trailer company (shutdown) it's very close to my house and my dad owns it.

  • Macon, MS? WRONG. I live in Philly. That tornado is going thru the NESHOBA County park. This is NOT Macon.

  • Philadelphia, Mississippi? Wrong! That is the macon mississippi tornado!

  • @ameyascience no its not it is the philly tornado if you watch closely you can see the space way!

  • Amazing footage

  • That was such a terrifying day for us. I go that way to Starkville all the time. There were tree limbs from that cell a half an hour away.

  • sick dude!!

  • why didn't you get sucked in?

  • That was our park that got destroyed at the begining

    and I live here

bad tornado when it was at our house it was an f-5

at 0:55 thats were I live the bulidings in teh background were our old business

  • le mec il et fou ili laisse sa vie en filment se truc

  • This just shows how fast some tornadoes move. If you were in a house on the other side of the road and didn't know it was coming, maximum 3 secs to get to safety. Very devastating day. I watched these storms live on radar and soon as I saw those debris balls, I knew it would be a day made for history. My heart goes out to Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Philadelphia, Cullman, and all over places affected.

  • cant beleive this was happening on this day i was having fun on my b-day

  • You got wayyyyyy too close to this tornado from the beginning, great video, but this guy really has some guts to go through downed powerlines and follow right behind this thing.

  • You sure this wasn't sped up at all? It seems like there's a noticeable speed up at 0:11, not just of the tornado but of everything in the shot. Nonetheless, it was a great video!

  • it passed near where i live and i didnt even notice XD

  • What was the forward speed?

  • @heavenssdin Surprisingly just a few people I know in philly, newton, neshoba and union are racist. But i do agree, some people in the south are just not right

  • @heavenssdin ummm i live in philadelphia mississippi and dont apperciate your stereotypical comment one bit. This tornado destroyed my grannys house and almost killed her.

  • that wasn't even scary

  • its a EF1 duh

  • am scare

  • Great tornado footage, but NOT an EF-5 (at this point--more like an EF-1 or 2). Notice the tree snapping at .027 sec. If the tornado were an EF-5, that tree would have been airborne, and the house would have been totally obliterated. The author would have also had a tough time controling his vehicle at such close range. Flying debris would have made filming impossible and downright dangerous.

In 1983, I was twice that distance from an EF-4 and my car (a 1976 Olds Cutlass was uncontrollable).

  • @fractalbeliever

When it hits those tress it has only just touched down, so of course it's not going to be very strong at that point. It didn't reach EF5 intensity until later.

  • wow, it nearly doubled in size in less than a minute. shows how fast and unpredictable a tornado's nature is

  • ...Tornadoes don't move THAT fast. do they? If they do, then that only spells GAME OVER for man kind.

  • @gamefreak1000000 Actually sometimes they move faster no joke. (I used to live in Texas).

  • I couldnt agree more with the last comment, im working in Jackson, Ms. and sometimes work in Neshoba County. Its one of the most beautiful and majestic county in Ms.

  • Some of the best tornado footage I've ever seen. Fantastic work Andy.

  • 3 EF5 tornadoes that day and yet an unofficial and still in debat Tuscaloosa tornado, which may lead to 4 EF5s in one day, that is insane!

  • This has now been rated EF5 because it dug a trench 2 feet deep in the ground! :O

  • I CAN HEAR IT! Really sound like a turbofan, just as in the descriptions.

  • Y'all got wrought iron balls...

  • dang he is super brave (and all the others that do this) i could never do this in my entire life!

  • that tornadoes getting away! . . . for now. . .

  • this was just 10% of what just happened in Japan's Tsunami... just pray...

"JUST TREAT EVERY SINGLE DAY JUST LIKE IT WOULD GONNA BE YOUR LAST DAY... IM SURE IT WOULD GONNA BE A SPECIAL DAY..."

  • @diannetrix comparing disasters? How insensitive! I'm a Katrina survivor and I would NEVER make a comment like this. It's obvious you've never lived through something this terrible. When you're standing in front of the ruins of your home containing everything you've worked all your life for, when your entire town is a mound of rubble and every familiar thing is nothing more than garbage fill, you aren't contemplating people in Japan or anywhere else!!

  • horrifying...

  • im sorry im from pinson, al. and we came maybe 15 miles from getting hit nothing about this hole storm system was exciting this prob is one of the worst tornadoes to ever hit the world, longest tracking system 350 miles from miss. ala. geor. last i heard 228 people have died just in ala. found paycheck stubs from tuscaloosa insitlation roofing baseball card sheetrock and all kind of building supplies in my yard and im bout 100 miles from tuscaloosa god help them thank you jesus for saving me luv

  • Omg ur crazy when you see a tornado go the other way not that way

  • There is a Philadelphia in Mississippi? WOW I NEVER knew that!!

  • @Getrealpeeps Ah, the forever : a Philadelphia in Mississippi" comment.

  • wow that guy has some serious balls.

  • Epic!!! I saw Andy in town about an hour before this bitch dropped...I knew then it was time to go....THis MF stopped just 1000' from my house on 21 which was just a half mile from where he runs out of road and stops....Hell of a badass this Andy is...This fucker was moving and sounded like holy hell......good vid

  • why do people stay and wait for it to hit them i would be out of town.

  • okay...honestly....I'm all for storm chasing, but there IS a limit! and right about 0:26 or so is that limit...that is too close to the tornado! The drafts obviously were not gone from that area when he drove through...he could've been killed by a piece of debris...and at 0:39, much closer than before...I'm not meaning to fuss, I just don't want someone to watch this and think they can do the same and get themselves killed...just saying...

  • THIS IS NOT YOU!!! YOU LIER! I KNOW THE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY RECORDED THE FIRST HALF! I MEAN REALLY WHY WOULD YOU PLAGIARIZE ON A DISASTER? It was recorded on a blackberry curve.

  • if these was no video i would have thought he said launch tomato.

  • Amazing footage. I used to live in a house less than 1 mile from the park off of highway 19. This extra footage (not seen elsewhere) makes it look like the tornado came from the direction of my old house. People in the car driving away from the tornado probably said look at that crazy mf driving toward the tornado.

  • @SevereStudios Ah, And this makes sence! You guys really do a fantastic job at what you do! I wanna do this one day..what a rush.

  • I liked this video but IT IS SPED UP! Watch carefully around 10 or 11 seconds after he moves the camera, and the forward motion of everything in the field of vision unnaturally and suddenly increases. Still fabulous video though!

  • @jdale2267 Everything speeds up, except motion of the wipers? Yeah right...

  • @jdale2267 Its not sped up, look at the speed of the wind shield wipers, normal.

  • @jdale2267 Have you ever used a video recorder in a car? when you zoom it makes it look like the car is speeding up when you zoom. A natural occurence when you a hand recorder in a car... come on i know youre smarter than that..

  • I watched the first video on the news April 25th from the first outbreak.

  • Ha ha Philadelphia is one of the most religious towns I've ever been to.... Must of them are hard core bible thumpers.... It ain't God... It's called a cold front... This happens every year in different parts of the nation

  • Mississippi and Alabama need to get right with God. I'm an Alabamian btw.

  • @Aceskyler ya know tornadoes can really do that. If god wanted to he cud rip this very EARTH in half COMPLETELY and have everything put back together and back to normal like it never happened in a billionth of a second. So I'm pretty sure a small tornado cud do as it just did in the video.

  • How could it be fake ?

  • It's weird to see my hometown get ripped apart...

  • I'm sorry but it does look a little fake. I don't think a tornado would disperse like that then reanimate itself like that so fast. Thats just my opinion. Its a cool video and if there was a star system i would give you a 4. But come on, and be real. A tornado would not disappear as you drive toward it then reappear on the other side of the street by coincidence.

  • @Aceskyler Dude this is real. Tornadoes hop and are incredibly fast. Mississippi was ripped up by many tornadoes yesterday. Luckily it hopped my school and hit a few miles from my house. This is no joke.

  • @atalantalatin It's cool man, I see where you're coming from. I'm probably not looking close enough. :-D

  • @Aceskyler Obviously you have no undertanding of tornadoes or have watched many tornado videos. The tornado did not disappear and was on the ground for the complete video. The condensation cloud does not always follow the wind rotation. Tornado = rotating winds, not the cloud. Remember it's better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool then make a stupid post and remove all doubt.

  • @GOODY61 Ok first of all that last part did not make sense at all. If i was to remain silent then why would I be looked at as a fool. Second any opinion stated is worth hearing, childish remarks should be kept behind ones teeth. Third I never made up my mind about the video being real or fake. And last I still think the video is cool. So Goody61 why don't you be a good little boy, and take the sarcastic talk elsewhere.

  • @Aceskyler Your obviously misinformed and naive to make a inflammatory post about the legitimacy of the video. It's best to remain silent and evaluate the video before making yourself look foolish. The person who made this video is an experienced and well known stormchaser.

  • @GOODY61 And i take it you know said stormchaser to vouch that this video is real?

  • @Aceskyler Personally, No. I'm very familar with him and many other stormchasers since I have an interest in the subject as do many others posting on this video. You do not qualify though so STFU.

  • Why in the world would u drive towards it??

  • around 0:17 to 0:26 i would run way form it not dive to it

  • @firedude133 LOL SAME HERE

    I'd go the OTHER way

  • @firedude133 ikr thats what i was thinking like that person could die if they got to close to it

  • @firedude133 AMEN!! SAME HERE!!!!

  • It was nice of Andy to give us a closer look...glad its over. Condolensces to the families affected. Have you heard Julie MP sing? check it out...leave a comment :)

  • WHY ARE YOU DRIVING TOWARDS IT YOU IDIOT?

  • i thot it was fake at first

  • Nothing fake about this.. The first of this video is was after a few moments of this thing touching down. It grew from a ef2 to 4 very quickly which is what it was when it came through my county moments later. you unbelievers can come down here and ill be glad to show this things path and homes destroyed. I work in law enforcement and can take you where bodies were thrown .25 miles from their homes. unbelievable the people who want to stir the pot and call this fake.. get a life..

  • thats right, keep driving into the tornado.....

  • Simply amazing

  • Great video capture but dont hurt yourself

  • fuck mothernature and god for causing humanity death and suffering

  • @RichKilla86ers more people die by the hands of other people than natural disasters all day kid. people who dont pay attention are the ones who die kid

  • @RichKilla86ers its called LIFE. Grow a pair and accept it

  • @RichKilla86ers LOL there isn't a god.. That's just asanine to believe all of this happens cuz of a dead guy in the sky xD It's called cold fronts, warm fronts, pressure systems, etc etc. Take an Earth Science class in highschool and you'll learn all about it.. It's all a part of nature, the winds blow, and when fronts clash, shit like this can take place. No "spiritual being that died on a lower-case T" can cause this..

  • i admit that did look fake but only a heartless asshole wud fake this so i belive it

  • @Djxhero123 how did that look fake??? did you get punched in the eye while watching it or something?

  • @IdoBlowAndWeed watch it wen it goes straight across the road and i said i belive so leave ur ignorant comments to yourself

  • they must have balls of steel or something

  • This video is not fake, nor "sped up". That's how fast the tornado was moving. The only editing done was to take out the parts where Andy put the camera down or was in the trees. No colorization was added to the video, it was just converted to Windows Media and then uploaded to YouTube. You can check out a lot more of Andy's videos at our channel youtube .com/severestudios

  • @SevereStudios you guys are freaking insane!!! that is some of closest up footage ever.

  • condolenses to all the effected people and families

  • continued arent snapped at 1:00 we finnaly see some down power lines but this is a different tornadoe the fact is most tornadoes aonly last 3-15 minutes qand the farthest one has traveled is 219 miles so just for this dude to have the shot he would have to chase many tornadoes and edit them real tornadoe but edited footage

  • ok alot of u people have been tellin me this is not fake and alot of other bull (bitches cough) i would like to tell you that not the entire video was fake butt just part of it the dude who filmed it edited it for purposes lets take a look at 0:26 the line of white that is in the middle of the tornadoe was edited to make it look stronger of white that is commonly portraid in many videos proof is a few seconds later some power lines snap or something explodes but as you look on the lines

  • Was looking at all the other vids of Alabama when I saw this my heart skipped! I have family there and I didn't hear on the news about this twister! Called the family n they're ok but damn u figure someone woulda let me know...wicked cool vid btw

  • I live in Philadelphia, MS, and this video is nowhere near fake. The video is obviously sped up if you'd watch things other than the tornado (i.e. the windshield wipers, other car, trees falling, etc.). The devastation is very real and so many people have been affected by the storm's destruction. Still, we were very fortunate when compared to other areas hit that were extremely near to us.

  • I live in Dawson County, and our sirens were going off till 2:22 AM! It was crazy!

Luckly we weren't hit; With a tornado OR hail. Pray for those lost and who were hit..

  • Thats absoluately amazing!! Wish I was riding shotgun!

  • How is this fake? Just because it's fast-moving? Yeah, ALOT of tornadoes are fast-moving when first formed. Then they become slower with time and growth. Know your fucking facts.

  • Scary stuff going on last night. The one that hit Philly last night, we thought it was just one big one , but I think they said it turned out to be a double vortex. :-/ God bless the families who weren't as fortunate as we were.

  • motherfuckinn fake

  • @jarodds14 Mmmhm . Totally fake . Just like how everyone's deaths are fake ? Tornadoes aren't fake dumbass , It's weather .

  • @SaVaNnAbAnAnA332 the freaking beggining was edited i know that tornadoes bitch

  • @jarodds14 i saw this shit go down all across the country yester day its not fake many of my friends had family affected by this huge cell that swept across the south go you retarted

  • its so fast!

  • WHY ARE YOU DRIVING AFTER IT!?

    I would've been scared as chizz! D:

  • I would have shat myself.

  • What is the guy saying at 0:46?

  • @IwshIcldstrtover "large tornado" is what it sounded like

  • @IwshIcldstrtover "large tornado"

  • @IwshIcldstrtover umm,, large tornado?,, lol

  • wow hope u clean up :)

  • Best one I've seen.

  • he is literally chasing the tornado.

  • See, Im actually surprised i stumbled on this because i saw a spec of this on the weather channels website....WHY DONT THEY PLAY THE WHOLE VID of the tornado that tore up the transformers?!?!? The second half of it is wayyyy more exciting in my opinion!!!!

  • @dwebb2027 Andy was having trouble uploading video from there after power lines and towers went down, so TWC only got the first :16 sec.

  • @dwebb2027 media don't want those unaffected to feel too much sympathy for those affected otherwise they would promote this vidoe like they did Lindsay lohan's Jail time last year.

  • I am sad I didn't get to see this, I live in Union

  • I drove by the aftermath last night - great footage! You are one brave man, sir.

  • Great footage! Hope all are okay.

  • Nice catch Andy... busy day for us all. ;)

  • wow dude, that is the most insane footage i've seen yet, you got balls of steel.

  • My daddy's place at:53

  • Bloody great footage!

  • Great footage thanks, hope no one got hurt.

  • WOW!

  • Wow, incredible footage. What a crazy day. Never seen that many tornados on the chaser streams, not to mention the size. Im speechless.

  • Great video, Thanks for your Service, Stay Safe

  • good catch andy im praying for the people down there

  • Ok now that was one of the cooler tornado videos i have ever seen....

  • Great shots!

  • Amazing!

  • a very nice!

  • Just seems like you folks tempt fate a little bit more

each chase. One of these times.....!
