  • still drooling...awesone!

  • ueeeeeeeeeeeee! .·D

  • @prankmypants: This track is Masagin by Paniq. It's creative commons licensed, and it is available on his website.

  • Awesome to see the Commodore sign... a C64 in the back... Amiga boing ball... and the Amiga check.

  • and ? this demo is pure genius so don't focus on stupid pointless things ....

  • The coding is very good, but the message sucks. Just because you're a marxist-idiot doesn't mean everybody is.

  • @Chrijz How on earth is there a marxist message?

  • @paniq303 Sry for a very late reply (I just noticed this because of the other reply). Just that it´s sucking up to Israel, which the political correct Western media and politicians often do. Political correctness is cultural marxism, "The History of Political Correctness":

    /watch?v=qyu-9-OhHog

  • @Chrijz wat

  • Because Slovenia and Croatia do not have many demosceners in their country when German and Finnish people are 80% of the demoscene.

  • FIX: German and Finnish sceners

  • @Chrijz I picked countries where I knew people from, and some current sources of conflict. But I tried to be fair, e.g. the flag of Palestine is also included. So don't be a dick.

  • @paniq303 Such as pouet-"Hatikva"? He´s such a nice dude... just admit it, you got German guilt because of all propaganda that brainwashing Hollywood-media spouts out. I recently saw that Germany got the lowest birthrate in the whole world.

Including Palestine doesn´t make it better, terrorist-bombings in the Western world is such joy?!

  • @Chrijz sorry, you lost me there.

  • @paniq303 Even the stupid musicshow 'Eurovision' have Israel included to suck up to them... last time I checked Israel is in the Middle-East (Asia), not Europe...

Anyway, again, you´ve got great codingskills (that I´m a bit jealous of ;)), but you seem not that into politics.

  • @Chrijz thanks. you seem a bit too much into politics.

  • EPIC

  • Endlich mal wieder ne geile Scheiße von Farbrausch :-D Neuro nicht zu vergessen...

Find ich extrem stimmig das Ganze!

    Volle Hand!!!

  • Excellent Demo, you gotta see it freshly rendered with motionblur disabled and multipass on max to be fully appreciated. :P

btw does anyone know what the name of the track is? I gather by your comments its by Paniq.

  • The music (paniq ur genius!), the consciousness, the trip.

But i preffer HQ in orginal, not yt.

  • It seems to me that they've looked a little bit too much at ASD's Lifeforce Demo. Don't get me wrong i like it, but hardly any unique ideas.

  • nice intro but boring after.

Can someone explain to me what's that PC demo's?I have not the slightest idea

  • pc demos are made to show everybody whats possible (mostly grafix and also art including music) in realtime on a pc (=personal computer).

the demoscene exists since the C64 came up (i think), and everbody wanted to be the best, so they made demos to show. it is a competition in grafix and sound

(please correct me!!! i'm from germany and my english is very bad)

  • the song is awesome! paniq is a great musician i think. but the music quality in this video is kinda dim...

  • It won bc ASD went w/ a demo with a great concept that was stylistically too close to what it had done in the past.

This doesn't break ground, but it's one of the most innovative uses of sprites and 2d zooming/panning/layering as opposed battling for the prettiest rendering engine.

It was original, and if you disagree, it's hard to ALSO disagree that it at least took what few had recently done and executed it pretty flawlessly.

There's quite a bit of humor/cheer, too, which never hurts.

  • Downsides?

    - The soundtrack is a little monotonous in the second half.

    - Too much use of the nonstop zoomin/zoomout effect and then its inverse.

All in all, whether or not it deserved to win, it's a damn entertaining demo that I've shown to several friends--which I rarely do.

  • wow awsome! how they do this?

  • magic! ;)

  • 1337

  • l2code

  • "Action through inaction"

  • die compo war bis auf 3 beiträge generell langweilig und etwas zäh.war am anfang erst etwas skeptisch, aber dann hats eingeschlagen.

    gab ein "rulez" von mir.

  • bissel zusammenhangslos, nä?

  • Is the DVNO by Justice a real time demo?

This is probably not the very best demo I've seen, but surely excellent and the soundtrack kicks ass.

  • I think this is the first time I really dig a Farbrausch demo.

  • And to add a bit to the discussion below, I actually think here we have the typical fight between "design demos" and the hardware milkers. I think that if you want hardware milking, look at the oldschool scene :)

  • zomg, great.

  • I really enjoyed this Demo and after watching most of the demos from BreakPoint, this was imho the best one!

  • I would say that we have a case of "name voting" here. People vote for the known "leading" group instead of the demo that they actually like (because they didn't watch the compo, couldn't remember the name, were too drunk etc. etc.) I am disappointed, and I noticed that I am not the only one here.

  • So which of the demos in the compo would you have liked to see take first place?

  • I have not watched all Demos yet, but the ones that made 2nd and 3rd place were IMO better than the winner demo.

  • Adore it! Thanks for the subliminals and all :)

  • Ich finde dich auch süss *knuddel*.

  • PS: "differing opinions" my ass. I can pretty much deal with criticism, but only if it is criticism that exceeds childish "lol, crap" posts. You on the other hand still have no idea how to communicate, and even if I understand people jerking off to their little highs when they have their 15 milliseconds of fame on YT I'd rather pity you and your obvious lack of perspective and basically anything good in life.

Off - good luck "winning" with your "witty" remark that will inevitably follow.

  • good call. but when it comes to actual criticism, i wouldn't know where to start bitching and actually i can't be bothered to watch it all over again.

a friend pointed me here and i was just disappointed that something like this ends up 'winning' a demo competition these days.

odd enough, as opposed to my 'lol, crap' comment you obviously don't seem to mind any of the 'zomg, great' comments.

get over it, i just don't like your demo.

and let me assure you: there's no need to pity me. xoxo.

  • aleks, if saw my own demo in the quality it has on youtube, i'd thumb it down myself. therefore i can very well understand that you are disappointed with our production.

the encoding is horrible, the resolution is too low to see any details, the music is mono. i recommend watching this demo at a genuine HD resolution, using a good stereo set. if you watch this demo like that, you're just punishing yourself.

  • in case you still disagree with my style of execution i'd like to read a detailed list of criticisms (things you disliked and why). otherwise i just find you guilty of feeling like you were let in on an inside joke you don't understand. and i'd give you that.

  • ok hands up to this - i couldn't get kkapture to record the damn thing so i used the mp4 off pouet

  • DAMN! This is great!

    -What is Buddha?

    -Masagin!

    Hell yeah!

  • What is Buddha ? GREAT PROD ! Thumb up !

  • That's probably because most other people grew up enough not to appreciate random delusional ramblings like "any random amiga 500 demo is better than this" or, in fact, have long left puberty.

  • What song is this?!

  • haha I love the happy sun <333

  • What I don't like about the demo:

    1. This is NVIDIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

    2. Incoherency. There's no clear theme to it.

What like about it is style, polish and the soundtrack.

  • Meh, it had its moments, and then some other effects and scenes were an eyesoar and annoying. I like it in that I don't see Farbrausch do many 2D trendy demos - but it had too many zoom-wrapping effects.

  • bleh. it's ugly, sounds like shit and is way too long. wonder that something like that won the biggest demo-meetings in the world? worst case scenario!

could anyone tube 'codename: chinadoll' btw? ;)

  • One thing that bugs me... why are there so many Amiga references in the video if there are no Amiga compos at nvision???

  • Just 'cause AMIGA RULEZ!...

You should have felt the mood in the BP08... c=, boingball and then tick... it was like applause, ovation, y crazy frenzy!! xD It's worth those references being there xd.

  • nvidia's new graphics card is a c64 and an amiga combined for ULTIMATE POWER

  • demo my mexican rug me beautiful

  • Hahahhaah, really really nice work guys, acid n roll!

  • design-wise excellent? you must be kidding. watch the 'DVNO' video by justice, that's excellent. this is nothing.

  • justice's vids are crazy amazing but i believe you can't run them realtime

  • I dont like what demos are into. My idea of a demo always included some kind of technological innovation. You should watch it and think "Wow! how did they do that?!".

    Design-wise this is excelent.

  • Thanks for uploading this BUTTONTANG :)

Not a technical piece, but loved a lot of the art, and the colour schemes were great too.

  • creative. smart. amazing.
