This dramatic piece of music was used at the start of soundtrack for "Laserium Starship" which was a laser show to music running at The London Planetarium (RIP!) from 1979 to 1985.
This video is still available although you may have to google it. The latest version, made in 2000 was remastered in full Dolby 5.1from the original 4.0 Tomita Master, which had been burried in a salt mine under Kansas City. Patrick Stewart narrated and his voice became a musical instrument. Thanks for the wonderful comments, this was a bear to illustrate and edit.
@acepilotrjv I've no idea. I watched it in 6th grade, and that was something like 6 years ago. If the visual quality is anything to go by, that version is probably rare, more so since it was on VHS. If you're looking for it, I wish you luck in your search.
Thank you so much for uploading these... I used to watch this video when I was only 3 years old and was so obsessed with it. I rented it from a library so many times I can't count and have looked for it ever since. I'm 21 now, and it is so nice to be able to relive my earliest memories. Thank you!
Back befo9re there was dolby,or most of the hi-tech audio, I had a Sony Quadrsphonic am/fm 8 track in my 69 SS El Camino. It had eight speakers, 500 watts of power and I found Tomitas Planets 8 track at a yard sale. I wore it out. Imagine this playing on 8 speakers, each one playing a different track. It was so cool....Wish I still had that ride and stereo set up.....
This is another great album that is so great. Thank you again........

I think I was around six when I first saw this, but I'm lucky enough that we own the VHS, so I can still occasionally watch it occasionally.

One of the many movies I watched as a young scientist. It makes you think how much more we learned about the planets ever since this video came out.
