  • This is the first time I've ever heard him do this song live in 40 years! I always wished I could request it at his shows.

  • Great post, beautiful song and performance

  • great job my friend!

  • Nice post my friend;) Bet the concert was great to see!

  • thanks for posting!

oh i wish i could be there... 5*****!!

  • Hey, Dave: Great video!!! Any more from the concert. By the way, I have you BEAT-- I've seen McGuinn and/or Byrds about 75 times!!!!!

  • Thanks to the nice angle David has on this performance, you can easily see that McGuinn is playing a 7-string guitar. This rather unique instrument was built for Roger by the CF Martin Company and has the G-string "octaved" with two closely-spaced strings tuned like the G-string on a twelve string guitar.

    Pretty darned cool!

  • saw him at the Leadmill in Sheffield when i still lived in the UK ... excellent gig!

  • @psychobollox When he started playing 'Wasn't born to follow' I started biting my lip.

  • @tfmuch

wasn't that one of the cited reasons about why DC got pissed off? :/

good song ... worked well on TNBB, but DC wasn't happy - Triad didn't go on it.

vinyl was a bastard. in a CD age, DC's songs could have been on that - oh, they were! reissues ... but yeh .--- that song seems to have some ... vitutusarvoa (as we would say in finland) about it :/

  • I wish Roger would come to my town. Thanks for the vid!

  • still great ! *****

  • Cool Dave. Did you get to see him at Pepperdine?

  • Yeah. It was my second time seeing him. I'm glad he did a lot of rare songs.
