  • I'm sitting at my desk at work. From 8:55 to 10:05 I have my lighter in the air. My co-workers are looking at me funny. My boss wants to know why I have a lighter in the air. Somebody else wants to know why I have a lighter at work at all. My response: "My ears just orgasmed. It was spectacular." LMAO

  • wish it was 20 minutes with rest of the bosses lol

  • wow amazing

  • Was there a different version of this floating around in the past? I feel like this is longer than I remember.

  • @ruphia Yeah, I think the other version (which is about 9 minutes) was a demo, and this is the album version. Having listened to the demo version for years, this is version throws me off. It's slightly faster, and has an extra section around 5:00

  • @Gameryamen Yep, same here, lol. I listened to that version for a long time then I found this one. I'm impartial to it being a bit sped up, but I do like the addition of the quick man theme.

  • missing some shredding eh? but not bad though

  • Well rehearsed and encapture the feeling even if the tempos are off.

  • Ich bin entauscht. Where's Metal or Heat Man? Still good tho.

  • Mega Man 2 is one of the best Mega Man games EVAR!!!!

  • How have i never found this until now! OMG! (BASS GUITAR IN HAND!)

  • How can you unlike this I keel you.

  • 0:00 is not the title. It is the Password theme. 0:14 is Stage Select. 0:39 is Enemy Selected, The Megas call it 'A Fate Forged in Steel'. 0:47 is Air Man, 'Sky Ridge'. 2:30 is Bubble Man, 'Waterfall Institute'. 3:46 is Quick Man, 'Underground Lab'. 5:15 is Flash Man, 'Crystal Cave'. 6:33 is Boss theme. This is also used for all robot masters. 7:21 is Beat Boss/Stage Clear. 7:26 is Dr. Wily's introduction! 7:33 is Wily Stage 1 (Wily's Castle). 8:55 is Ending. This one always makes me tear up.
  • wow, no pokemon comments? one of my favorite games as a musician and gamer. no platformer can compare.

  • @VelcroKiss

Pokemon is an RPG, a different genre.

  • @uziman477 pokemon an rpg? one of the worst i guess. i think you would classify the genre as tactical...though no real skill is invovled

  • @VelcroKiss An rpg is a role-playing-game, which is exactly what pokemon is. A platformer is like Mario/metroid/mega-man

  • Comment removed

  • @uziman477 my bad..there's some confusion. i meant mega man 2 is one of my favorite platformers..not pokemon... if you want to play a real tactical game, buy risk or play disgaea on PS2. if you want to play a real RPG, play dragon warrior...on NES.

  • @VelcroKiss

Oh ok, sorry for the misunderstanding

  • @VelcroKiss pokemon is a real rpg. its very unique and one of the best

  • @TheAnGryPOolMaN Pokemon was great till they made it child-friendly with all those lame TV-shows and puppets

  • My cousin took me to a show in Pittsburgh in 2004; two words "fucking epic". Never seen so many drunks with gameboys! It was great.

  • omg this is epic but...WHY don't they do one with Megaman X?!?!

  • @girlfromthabirgh thats wussup ,just got done playin metal slug 1 on dreamcast

  • Somebody at my job never knew about Megaman, I brought this in on break and made him sit down to see what a real childhood was all about.

  • Wow, they really are amazing, I regret not listening to them now, but am grateful I get the joy of finding them : D

  • where is teh metal man!?!

  • It rocks that I recognized all of these

  • I'm disappointed. Where's Heat Man's theme? >:}

  • I deliver pizza's to this song, Always a good get there and do it kinda music! Kinda feel like Mega Man going through stages!

  • if nostalgia was lethal

  • I know this is just a medley but it actually carries itself well as a whole. There's a clear sense of beginning, middle, and end. It's nice.

  • I saw these guys in nintendo power

  • @KingOfStix2 they still produce nintendo power O_o

  • @sanzoghun Yea, they were featured in one of the 2010 issues

  • I'd like to add my boss order here for posterity: Bubble Man > Flash Man > Quick Man > Metal Man > Wood Man > Air Man > Crash Man > Heat Man. Not all super effective in that order, but Bubble was my favorite stage and Heat my least, so it got stuck that way. One of the greatest video game soundtracks of all time!!

  • @dhroc80 That's a pretty stupid boss order tbh. I do metal bubble wood air crash heat flash quick

  • this is priceless...

  • Oh hell. Time to hook up old NES system, blow the dust out of the Mega Man 2 cartridge, and play the game in the order of the music being played.

  • Order:

Air Man first because he is quickly defeated by the Buster Weapon and Item-2

Flash Man for his Time Stopper

Quick Man for the Quick Boomerang

Metal Man for the Metal Blades

    Bubble Man for Bubble Lead

Heat Man for Atomic Fire and Item-3

Crash Man because Items make his level a breeze.

Wood Man because Atomic Fire is a one shot.

  • Wow. There's a lot of stupid comments about the game here. You guys are idiots, but minibosses you're great.. been a fan for a long time now. This song has progressed so much since you guys first started. Kudos.

  • I like Air Man & Quick Mans stages so much better because of you guys now!

  • I don't play games anymore. Because, I played magaman and, therefore, my childhood was complete! I still look back with nostalgia the happiest days of my life!! Thanks for the music!

  • This great band is a gift to all of us 3rd generation gamers who grew up with this ^^

  • @Rompcom You mean @Quetzecoatl ?

  • 3 people couldnt beat the buebeam traps

  • easily the BEST megaman rendition ive ever heard. Something about the guitars in these are better sounding than other versions ive heard.

Also doesnt hurt that they play my two all time favorite megaman tracks. Air Man and Bubble Man, back to back. Im going to be looking these guys up to see where they are playing next!

  • Strangely, the version of this song that I have is slower and is missing a song, Quick Man's if I'm not mistaken.

  • @DeshwitatLRudbich

thats the old one, i have it too. they had quick man originally by itself, and i guess decided to combine it finally- forming this lovely version.

  • Take a dump on the toilet

Take a dump on the toilet

  • THE WORLD OF THE FUTURE. THE WORLD OF THE FUTURE BOY MEGAMAN.

  • This is by far one of the most epic compilations I've ever heard lol. You can listen to this over and over unlike most music out there.

  • They just became my new favorite band!

  • Bubbleman's Music is EPIC

  • the cores are not dificult but they play videogames music, for that they are awesome =D

  • 3 people's parents denied them from having a nintendo

  • These guys are playing at Phoenix Comic-Con.

    T'will be an amazing show.

    I hope I can go.

  • 1) start game [normal/difficult]

    2) stage select

    3) stage about to start (show boss)

    4) air man

    5) bubble man

    6) quick man

    7) flash man

    7) Dr Wily

    My childhood was kick ass

  • @Quetzecoatl i know man couldnt agree more homie!

  • @Quetzecoatl You left out the boss music after Flash man!

  • @Quetzecoatl

Amen, from one third generation gamer to another

  • @Quetzecoatl

    7) Flash man

    8) Boss fight

    9) Stage complete

    10) Dr. Wily

  • MINE IS SO SLOW!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!

  • Thanks I listen to this on the way to work, and at work, and on break, and on the way home all the time!

  • Dude I got tge emulators for my Android and got this and a bunch of classic games on my phone. But this is crazy awesome.

  • It's the 60hz version!! :)

  • You have to give it to the clunky 8-bit system... the game designers came up with some really cool music. Clear and with catchy melodies. I kinda feel today's games forget the basics that good music starts with good melodies. And good music sets the mood for a memorable gaming experience.

Bubbleman and Flashman stages were my favorite.

  • @Warhamsterxxx totally agree with you sometimes the game could be the best in graphics and all of that but it really helps good music in it too

  • the dislike bar is like justin biebers penis small and gets bigger when faggots touch it

  • @ffhk1 I wonder how you got that info about Justin Bieber, was it from a personal experience or some sort of research?

  • Megaman 2 has the best music out of all of them

  • 10 MINUTES OF SWEET LOVE TO THE EARS. <3

Seriously, it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm bouncing in bed to this because of how awesome this is.

  • 3 people are gay no they're fucking retarded

  • needs more bass

  • This is so incredibly well played, that I can look over the lack of transitions and still love it. Nostalgia >>>>>

  • 3 ppl are gay.

  • @snippywhippit they are sooo gay.

  • AWESOME !

  • 3 people couldn't beat Heat Man.

  • WEAPON GET!

  • I remember back in the 80's humming all these tunes and bionic commando while walking to my aunts home.

  • GIANT NOSTALGIC MUSICAL BONER

  • I'm starting to feel like 10% of the 62,506 times this has been watched.

  • beyond awesome

  • Airman approves.

  • When I hear this I just keep thinking of the lyrics from Brentalfloss, The Megas, and The Adventures of Duane and Brand0. It'd be a wicked remix if it included them though.

  • I saw these guys live in my hometown of NYC years back. I got piss drunk, jumped in the pit, and moshed to Megaman 2. Definitely a hardcore NES guys idea of a good time.

  • God I love Dr. Wiley's music!

  • Two people didn't know to use Bubble Lead on Dr. Wiley.

  • awesome, minibosses totally hit the bullseye in doing a megaman 2 rock tune, it sounds awesomely rockin' and groovin, but somehow they totally manage to keep it feeling just like that megaman i know :)

  • This is absolutely fantastic! MegaMan 2 had the absolute best video game soundtrack of all time. The mini boss music was fantastic, and Dr. Wily's castle was epic. I've played Mega Man 2 for 20 years & the music doesn't get old, it only enhances the game. The minibosses absolutely nailed this without a doubt.

  • just. sheer. awsome.

  • One word: Epic.

I have their old recording of this song and they changed it alot!

1: Its faster and more up-beat.

But with all the fastness it kinda screws up the last part cuz it supposed to go slow.

2: They changed parts of the song.

That a real improvement actually, pretty good.

    3: It's a better recording!

    Their instruments sound better overall.

Love this song and always will.

  • EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPIC

    beat internet man!

    new power: meme

  • FLASHMAN RULES

  • Man.. the intro in the boss fight -music is real sinister sounding...

  • While I love this, I like their older recording of it better. It has a few more wild pinch harmonics and a boomier snare which I think sounded cooler. Still undeniably awesome though :)

  • 9:00 on makes me want to put my hand over my heart and pledge my allegiance to the minibosses.

  • I will gladly play this on repeat before I listen to anything "new" put out by any/every major record labels.

  • @elegantelement 100% yes.

  • @Tarrelond

The order is wrong. You are supposed to take the stages:

    1. Metalman

    2. Bubbleman

    3. Flashman

    4. Airman

    6. Quickman goes last.

  • @Rompcom There is no official order, but:

    (>> meaning "super effective against")

    Bubbleman >> Heatman

    Heatman >> Woodman

    Woodman >> Airman

    Airman >> Crashman

    Crashman >> Flashman

For some of the characters you didn't even need the weaknesses, like Woodman, or could easily do out of order. Metalman's weapon was cheap to use, fired any direction, and made stages a breeze, so he was the ideal first one to beat. His shots bounce off Bubbleman though. Bubble was also not good against Flash.

  • The opening music of this game is quite possibly the best sound to ever emerge from my NES.

  • @op1over Must be an off day for him.

  • 2 people lost all their lives on airman's stage before reaching the boss

  • Long live the Paladano brothers!

    p.s. They are coming

  • SO GOOD!

  • @Opeth0012 epic fucking win.

  • This group is a hell of a lot more in sync than "The Advantage".

  • @WyrmofAir way better than the NESkimos too

  • That fella's bass work is fucking amazing. He should be earning a fortune in session. At least I hope he is, if he isn't I've got some studio work for him :p

  • EPICNESS!!! BEST SHIT EVER!!!! METALMAN FOR LIFE!

  • Airman is te best song!!!!

  • That's pretty talented bass work

  • Comment removed

  • Dr. Willie is a dead man!

  • the minibosses are the shit

    amazing musicians

  • there are waaaaay too many video game music cover bands these days.

    it's awesome.

  • Saw these guys in 2010 getting epic in Las Vegas; These dudes know how to party!!

  • Flashman at 5:40, best part.

  • Huge kudos to the bass guy for doing the little arpeggio things for Wily's Castle.

  • Awesome!

  • just got my hands on this song.. copied it to my MP3 player... and playing this song everywhere i go :)... just awesome riding a train to your work and listen to mega man music ^^

  • Quite possibly the BEST thing I have ever heard.

  • pURE epIC

  • EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCC !!!!!!!!! :D Just awesome Guys ^^

  • I've been listening to this song way, way too much since I stumbled across it several years ago :) It's awesome.

  • Hello all! This is my first experience listening to music from nes games. Megaman2 music rocks the socks off. I didn't know there is a scene for this but I'm all for it

  • If they have no problem recording the fast runs in Quickman slowly, then speeding them up, I don't see why they didn't do the same for Airman.

  • OMG sooo coooool...

  • Perfectly done, captures the traditional Japanese flavor that a lot of American cover bands tend to omit. Armcannon and Powerglove sound awesome, don't get me wrong, they just didn't encompass the same Eastern edge Minibosses do so well.

  • @PrimalLight2323 You are so right. The minibosses are the best and most "original" VG music bands. Ozma's version of the Tetris theme owns too.

  • @flipDarkslideflip Agreed, Ozma did well with that rendition because they followed the same Japanese formula that the Minibosses emulate so well.

The Black Mages, Ars Nova, Crush 40; all instrumental Japanese progressive bands that follow the same video-game-esque style. You'll notice that there's a quality that unifies them all, something that most western musicians tend to overlook. But the Minibosses always take it into consideration when creating their arrangements.

  • Hmm. I think my ears came.

  • hay i made bootleg of these guys years ago when they were playing some place. it's less polished and shorter, but imo just as good. maybe ill upload it...

  • @thegenrl do it.

  • Probably my favourite VGM of all time, modern music doesn't compare, the only good VGMs now are probably the smash bros. games - 'cos they're remixes - and probably the Halo theme, that's pretty awesome.

But yeah, modern games got nothing on this masterpiece.

  • I wish for a rehash of the end theme (I think its Protoman's)

  • Bubbleman stage FTW!!

  • NICE!

  • i love this band

  • Air Man

    Bubble Man

    Quick Man

    Metal Man

    Boss Music

    Victory Music

    Dr.Wily appears

    Dr.Wily castle stage 1

    Ending Music.

  • @ReviewerKid90 When is Metal man's stage played? as far as I can tell, it's Flash Man's stage, not Metal man's. Everything else is right, but yeah, the one after quick man is Flash Man's, not metal man's.

  • @Joeytehgeetarist Well, Not to be mean but go please listen to the boss stages individually. So you can understand.

  • @ReviewerKid90 Well, not to be mean, but i don't understand. A) it's definately Flash Man's stage, and B) If you mean Boss Battles, ALL boss music in Mega Man 2 is the same. So could you explain yourself a bit more? Because i really don't understand.

  • This is so fucking godly.

  • Mega Man 2 came out when I was 5, and it's still my favorite video game music. Minibosses play it BETTER than The Advantage!

  • This band should be the one playing the themes for megaman games like the megaman x series

  • ....its so amazing....I don't have any words to say....nuff said...

  • I love that they added Quickman to this version! Also, the song transitions are all smoother instead of kinda sounding like they were all separate takes and edited together. ^_^

  • pssssssssssssssssssssssssssughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i remember i sent them a money order that said wood ben and burke, and they couldn't cash it in, but they sent me the CD anyway, and a note saying they couldn't cash the money order in like that, and asked me to resend a new one... so i sent them the new money order that said Ben Baraldi so they could cash it :D

  • i've listened to the minibosses since before the Kraid metroid album :D im old school

  • this is the best interpretations of the megaman 2, subjectivly. i really like the arrangemant and the drums are great!

  • hell ya! ha ha ha....

  • holy balls!!! all around good technique but the bass is absolutely nuts!!!! megaman always had good music and 2 was the best by far! if you look up the live performance, the sound quiality isnt the best but they pull this off perfectly and that bass player is absolutely amazing! 6 thumbs up!

  • @furbyoats You're kidding, right? The bass is the one thing that I feel is slightly lacking. It's missing in so many sections where it should logically go.

  • @furbyoats DuDe!!!!

wATChiNG tHem LiVe iS a ReaL TReaT, tHeiR aLMoST PeRFeCT!!!!

  • @furbyoats The Mega Man X series has the best music of any Mega Man game... at least, before it left the Super Nintendo. For the original set, I still think 3 has the best music, but 2's themes are probably the most memorable, especially Air Man and Wily 2.

  • why so fast?

  • Ben Baraldi rules on bass...Aaron Burke is great on guitar also...I've been a Minis fan since '05...dang they kick alot of ass lol.

  • dat waz cool
