Over all i enjoy Make and consider myself a "maker" but how much spare time and money does he have to waste?

Don't get me wrong im not a "hater" But this is certainly no "MOOG" Emerson Lake and Palmer did the same thing years ago but probably augmented it with drugs this guy is lucky if he can blame it on GREEN TEA !!

i don't think a lot of people get what he's doing. he's not necessarily trying to make what the general public call "music". there is no need for rhythm, beat, key, meter, etc. much like ambient music that creates textures with no rhythm to follow. think of it as free form. i find that certain noises can be beautiful and are sometimes integral to the composition of music.

@thricex05 as you did make a mildly valid comment on the context to the sound being used here, i have to at least inquire as to how you can prove or indicate that the noise composition played here has no meter, pentameter, key, rhythm or beat. i would think that even for the most elementary composer, you would be able to identify all of those traits here, as ephemeral as the harmonic dynamic is, its clear he is organizing his material into structured movements.

1) Pentameter is not a musical term (at least to my knowledge). It is a literary term used commonly as a pattern for poetry.

2) I did not say this piece did not have any of the elements of music I listed. I stated that all music does not have to have those elements to be considered music.

3) if one were to forcibly organize anything, I'm sure one can map out the beat, meter and etc. However, when I watched the video, observed that it seemed rather improvised than planned.

As far as how it sounds - it's all in the ears of beholder. You gotta give him credit tho for a pretty bad ass & complex computer & controller set up.

Industrial rhythm & dubstep is not my cup-o-tea either, but I do admire the work he did to create his set up there.

Well, some sounds sounds almost "classical" for industrial, some touches the EBM area, all in all, -really great thing alltogether with the design/aesthetics of an apparatus. I'm just wandering about some commentas, sayin, that "this was noise", hell yeah, boy, music understanding is relative.
