Is it easy to remove the lcd digitizer too so you can put it on another front cover? i have a p500 too and it has a few scratches on the front and back, so i want to change all the plastic covers without buying a new lcd digitizer. So is it possible to do that without damaging the lcd digitizer at all??
i want to change the whole case of my p500. i found a case on a website, but it doesn't come with the glass/plastic transparent part on the front case (the glass that we touch, which is over the display). can i take it from the old one? can it be disassembled from there or is it pasted there?
I'm trying to change the case of my wife's phone, which feel down and got scrached pretty badly. I got a new case but it doesn't have that small flat cable, as well as a sort of rubber piece, that are still attached at the old front part. I can see the small flat cable still attached in the front part of your case as well, in the end of the video. Do you know how to change it to the new case? Or I got the wrong replacement?
this concept of disassembly should apply to most optimus phones right? Given they are all simlar in build. I have an optimus M and i'm wondering if this will work.
Use the right tools: A L2 tech from LG doesn't use Dollorama screwdrivers and doesn't unconnect things from the mainboard with these. A Pro use premium quality screwdrivers and disassemble things with peeler, beside that good video, good camera focus... To listen with the mute fonction OBLIGATORY!
Thank you for a great video. Took my phone apart yesterday and laid a thin layer of silicone around the screen even before I powered it up for the first time. So I expect no dust to apear under the screen.
my lg optimus phone wontt scan any wifi networks nd my internet in my house is working goodd so my fone should be able to connect but it wont :( CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE !!
I don't have to change mine yet, but I heard the screens break fairly easy. You are da bomb. Thanks! 11 out of 10 stars. Self expanatory and just the right speed!
I got the Optimus V about three weeks ago and I have dust under the screen in the bottom left corner. I e-mailed LG about this issue, explaining many others are having the same problem. They responded by saying we can call their toll free number to request a free cleaning/"repair" of this problem. Turn around is 5-7 days after receipt of phone by their repair dept. LG Electronics USA (800) 793-8896
@emzi4bih I followed your great tutorial and dusted off my screen. Thanks! I didn't have silicone so I just applied thin pieces of scotch tape over the gaps between the housing and screen unit, and screen still works fine!
@kyledravis i was lucky to see this problem at first day, now my phone is all time inside a thin bag, more transparent than a ziplock but you catch the idea. And a tiny strip of scotch tape to close 3,5 and usb, btw; just 1 day of "normal use" and i can see at least one little particle of dust on it
Excellent video, now you wouldn't mind pointing out with of those pieces was the power button? xD (Not the plastic piece, but the actual button that powers up the phone)
@superdoggychow The button is right under the "plastic piece". 4:18 to 4:21 you'll see the small thingy hanging in the upper left corner on the moerboard(to the right).
What's that plastic thing you use to take off the silver shell?

@kyledravis Construct fail as said before. If you're handy, you can isolate the sides on the screen with silicone.
