I did not say that being a war veteran qualifies a person for the presidency. I was only expressing my disgust for the rude way that people are treating him in this video after the sacfrifices that he made for them. He risked his life and suffered torture so that ungrateful assholes can make idiotic videos that degrade him. Furthermore, the Vietnam war was an indirect fight with Russia. That's why we were there. Not for the Vietnamese people or any other reason. We were fighting communism.

If I do something utterly fantastic at work today, whether for the right or wrong reasons, my reputation is only as good as my next actions. I earn my reputation each and every day. John McCain is no different. He can't rest on his laurels. Doing the right thing 40 years ago does not make it okay for him to do the wrong thing today. He certainly did do the wrong thing in 1992 and there's no denying it.

So, why is the word offensive? I mean, half of America spends half of every day wondering when/if/how they may be allowed access to the referenced body part. Some versions of feminism believe that a woman's committment to "the cause" can only be measured by her willingness to put her face on one. "Communism" is more than a scare word, it is an economic system practiced in many nations in the world. Most of the nations currently practicing communism also display severe disregard for human rights (think Tianenmen Sq., or Cuba's non-emigration policy) Communism is incompatible with principles of individual human rights - it sells itself by making promises to the dependent that it can't keep without taking "sweat" from "another man's brow" (think taxes, think universal slavery).
