@kaimusic87 i think their are some similarities. 1 they both sing in the same genre. 2. they're voices blend very well together. 3faith evans sang background for most of mary's 'My Life" album. 4 one more chance was a super big hit which both their voices are on and last but not least Faith was molded to be a copy of Mary because puff started his own label and Mary was already signed to a different label (this performance is 100% Mary) First time i actually felt like Faith had that thing that!

Mary just has better music behind her. Faith & Mary sing very different music though so it's hard to compare...I like both of them alot but rarely buy Faith's music because it's mostly not worth listening to twice, with a few exceptions, so singing better means nothing when it comes to selling records [like nasal-voiced Britney Spears - I cringe to call it singing }.

First off im a huge Faith Evans Fan... but Mary is deserving of that title she is an iconic figure who at one time had a distinct style and sound to her music that other R&B artist werent touchin... she was a true merger of hip hop and soul... In her book Faith says that Puff wanted her to be the more mature balladeer. That's why her first album has so many bangin ass slow songs. She really needs no title though, everyone knows who the First Lady is. Faith is my all-time favorite singer(her and Aaliyah), but Mary is Mary, you gotta give her that.
