  • YOU RUSSIANS HAVE GREAT CULTURE,ESPESIALLY IN MUSIC,AND DANCE!!!!!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

  • Слава Русскому Искусству и моей Великой Родине! Она, как птица Феникс, всегда будет возрождаться из пепла. Что бы не пытались сделать с ней злые силы.

  • @scrap222666. It is better to spend for theaters than wars, Buddy :-)

  • Thank you, This is what it is.

  • If you do not like Russia, leave it. Come to USA where you can be fired at the whim of your emloyer. Where college and university are paid by student, and where 1/3 of americans have no health insurance and 2/3 are obese or overweight.

  • what is that march at the end? sounds like Chaikowsky. Is it?

  • @zdenko1945 indeed!!! it is the Festival Coronation March by Tchaikovsky.

  • @zdenko1945 Yes it's Tchaikovsky ;)

  • @zdenko1945 Tis Glinka, overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila I think.

  • Long live Russia, the most important Slavic country by:

    1) Surface

    2) Population

    3) Economy

    4) Military

    5) CULTURE

    Long live Russia...

  • @zdenko1945 I live in russia... TAKE ME AWAY FROM THERE!!!111111111

  • империя восстает...

  • Блбла тут зарыто немеряно!

  • Just more idiots for white idiots to worship

  • @EntBlog90210 And your worship in Africa. Right?

  • Off with their heds!

  • 12:49 reminds me of something out of Lord of the Rings

  • Long Live Emperor Romanov =)

  • Magnificent 14:43 mins of my time!!

  • Great, my congratulation to Russia and my friends from Bolshoi.

  • This performance seems very soviet to me.

  • this is messed up ,,be reasonable people or you fall in with all these crazy people like FOX news who is just out spreading lies and those who just repeat the lies,,THE UN is the bad guy myou will soon see,,plus they want to proove to you that they can be halping the world,,this guy is creepy, and a liar!!

  • This clip did not include the best parts of the concert. The building had to be rebuilt from the ground up, there were major problems with foundation and it was structurally unsound. Glitz and glitter was expensive, but most of the money were spent on making the building safe. Although the cost is exuberant, but it is a national treasure and has to be looked at as such. The tickets are discounted for different groups. For example, students can buy tickets for 100 rubles (about 3 dollars).

  • Great performance! May Russian people be happy, healthy, wealthy. ขอบคุณครับ (Thank you words in Thai).

  • the last part was awesome

  • love it

  • The Bolshoi Theater deserved all of this. It was about time someone finaly did it!

  • Bulldoze the thing, construct something actually useful.

No, not another goddamn supermarket. A research lab, a robotics factory, a hydroponics plant, SOMETHING!

  • entrance card = 25.000€!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like a upscale rammstien concert, Man those people know how to dress, Unlike here in the states where "performing arts" means watching some crazy guy on the corner paint stop signs with poop.

  • Ok... I personally wouldnt waste my time watching this circus...Whatever turns your crank i guess...

  • Half of the comments here seem to be from neo-bolsheviks. What is this channel turning into?

  • I like.

  • Oh people... I'm a left winger myself and you guys here are starting to sound like tea-baggers saying "the elite this and the elite that...". This is about the Performing Arts. Not the elites. It's about art subsidies and not Wall Street. It's always a joy for me to see a theater that has been renovated. But then I work with the performing arts. Recently the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro was renovated. And it is joy to behold. Was moved to tears after seeing it renewed for the first time.

  • @rickyseabra Well said. I am in the middle politically, but regardless - arts are important. They enhance our lives. Many people seem to think that opera and ballet are just for rich people. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are different tickets for different prices at all opera and ballet theaters. And now because of the movie broadcasts -- we have this opening shown in a movie theater about 40 minutes from where I live (in NY state) -- a lot more people can enjoy arts.

  • I could watch that bit at the end every day.

  • That's one bad ass theater

  • in the soviet union every one could go and see the show........

  • Comment removed

  • THIS IS REALLY GREAT!

  • Fuck the elite..kill them all.

  • 0:51 Maya Plisetskaya - legend

  • @TheCCCP2 Maya Plisetskaya - Jewish Zionist :-p

  • @thegreendestiny For dancers Zionism does not mean anything.

Ethnicity does not determine the ideological position

  • As an American fine craftsman, I live a free and independent life. Beauty has no national label, no identity, no envy. Some of my customers can APPRECIATE, but most merely mimic, for it is the performer, not the elite, who creates with their divine gifts-- others merely observe in hope of grasping a glimpse of true creative wealth.

    Beautiful and moving~!

    "Genius creates; others imitate"

    ~~cc

  • Beautiful:

  • Great what Russians care for such a institution of culture, and this is sign of good recovery. It is excellent work done on theater which has been in near total collapse.Russians have suffered a lot from ideas from Jeffrey Sachs

who is trying now in shock and austerity measures in the West.People can get jealous but at least can learn what don't work, and some of comments are just pure jealousness.

  • TWO OPINIONS:

First, thanks to all people involved who gave their blood, sweat and tears to save this monument of Russian history with their expertise and hard work. Also thanks to all the artist for keeping this display of their rich culture alive. It is truly a majestic landmark to behold.

Secondly, fuck all these rich fat pigs and their cheap whores! May they choke on their money and cough it on the plates of those who starve at their doorsteps!

Thanks to RT for (always) great journalism.

  • reinstate the Russian Royal Family!

  • How many people turned poor so these pigs could be that rich?

  • @makaveliThadon100 No one.

In case you did not notice; thousands of people were employed during reconstruction.

In case you neither notice, or simply do not know, most of the performers are on a basic wage and have been employed.

In case you have not noticed, Russia is on the up (by and large) whilst your beloved USA is going down the tube.

  • @gerryhiles1 Yes, capitalist Russia is truly a utopian beauty for all to behold.

    Lololololololol.....

    Ok, if you say so.

  • @gerryhiles1

Instead of huts for many, they build palaces for the few...

  • PISS ALL OVER THAT RED CARPET CRAP

  • money eaters

  • You would have to be very hard-hearted and ultra-cynical to not welcome the restoration of the Bolshoi.

I am just a prole who once saw Rudolf and Margot perform in Swan Lake, albeit not at the Bolshoi Theatre ... I will never forget that performance, though I am not a ballet lover.

Nor will I ever forget watching the Stones perform on their lavish set in Perth, Western Australia.

Like it or lump it (miss out), lavish performances cross all 'class' boundaries.

  • Who is that guy with the pillowcase on his head at 00:54?

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou pillowcase xD

This is a head of Russian Orthodox Church - Metropolitan bishop Kirill

  • @TheTeacwr You cannot combat ignorance. Anyone with half a brain cell should have at least known that the costume is of the Russian Orthodox Church.

I daresay that Raytheon knows nothing of Islam either and probably calls their leaders "towel heads".

He also probably believes that the restoration of the Bolshoi is a "communist plot" against a USA which can't even restore crumbling bridges, but can fund endless wars.

  • @gerryhiles1 You just showed your ignorance. Believe what you want. I figured he was involved in the church but wasn't positive. I have nothing against muslims and in fact I stand up for them whenever far right fuck faces talk bad about them. And I'm absolutely against the US's imperialism you dick head. I've been speaking out about it since before the Bush era. Are you happy now?

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou OK. Crossed wires. PAX? The internet is not good at real communication.

If it helps make peace - between us - I have been speaking out since the Vietnam War'

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou Abject SORRY. Don't know what more to say.

  • @TheTeacwr Ahhh I see. I figured he was involved in the church somehow. Thank you for the answer.

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou Liar. If you had known that, then you would not have written what you did.

OK, though, I take what you say as being opposed to all religions ... like myself. But I somehow think that this is not the case?

  • @gerryhiles1 I am an atheist and staunch voluntaryist. You're right. I was taking a swipe at his silly outfit. I knew he was part of the catholic church. I just hate being called ignorant because I truly am aware to whats going on in the world. It is easy to lump Americans together as ignorant fools because they mostly are. The younger generations are not though.

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou We are actually brothers then, to all intents and purposes.

Lately I have been very upset by the utter destruction of Libya - where I lived for a while - so I am inclined to "go off my face" more than usually.

That's how come you copped a kicking ... I did lump you in with those I call Usans (I can explain).

I hope you are right about the younger generation. BTW I am 68 and have seen/experienced a lot.

  • @gerryhiles1 The Libya situation upsets me greatly. Its hard to see children missing limbs or shot in the face. But thats been whats been going on throughout the world for as long as I can remember. Mostly due to my country. Its very sad and it wears on me. A lot. I just turned 23 yesterday or else I would have protested the vietnam war too. I get so much shit for the positions I hold. Getting called unpatriotic, being told I hate my country and generally just getting treated badly. Usans?

  • Yehuu a news report showing the elite having fun. Oh proletariat cheer and watch in awe as these people enjoy the finer things in life! :) Truly 700 million well spent, rich must have their fun too. I say the should ban commoners from this theater, what do you people think?

  • @scrap222666 It is possible to both OWS and appreciate cultural achievements enabled by some of the 1%.

  • @scrap222666 The masses will always have to suffer. Good men lived and died, their names and deeds forgotten. But the endless strife of the common man is not in vain. For it is his suffering and sacrifice that led to the survival of our kind. And there might be injustice and pain in this world but I believe in the human race and I believe we are destined to conquer the stars. Once we understand that life is not about social status but about the survival and prosperty of our kind, we will be free

  • @scrap222666 so you would rather see thousands of construction workers and artists go jobless for years? you would rather see rich folks keep their money in their pocket or invest in paper assets bubbles instead of spending it on the poor and the talented so everyone involved can have a great time? The Bolshoi has been around for 200 years. $700m is chump change if that's what it needs for another 200.

This is not only money well spent but I would argue this is the BEST way to spend money.

  • @LeakyWicks 700 million is chump change for a theater? Also it would be fine and dandy if the rich spent their money on poor and talented but what has this got to do with tax funded mega projects?

  • @scrap222666 Buddy, population of russia is about 140M. $700M = $5 per capita. You telling me you can't spend that for a building that might last for centuries to come?

Here's a little perspective for you:

    US bank bailout cost = $700B = 1000 x Bolshoi reno

US's cost on Iraq and Afghan wars = at least $3T = 4286 x Bolshoi reno

Amount of credit unaccounted for by the Federal Reserve = $9T = 12858 x Bolshoi reno.

Try to wrap that around your head.

  • @scrap222666

This is what keeps Cultures Languages and Nations alive. Its their history. Multiculturalism kills Nations.

  • @scrap222666

CONGRATULATIONS ! To the Russian People and their Culture !

  • @scrap222666 idiot

  • @alphaknave Well thank you for commenting. I am sure your ISP is glad they wasted some internet packets to get your message across.

  • @scrap222666 Well all I said was "idiot". What you said was much longer are much less interesting. Also, I don't think the majority agree with you, because they know they've been down that path before. When you have nothing to aim for, you aim at your feet.

  • @alphaknave You don't think meaning you don't know meaning it has no importance. Also I don't care about your pissing habits.
