  • Mark - You asked me to stay in touch, so here I am again. Had the RNY gastric bypass 10 1/2 weeks ago, doing fine so far. Down 65 pounds, should have 100 off by Labor Day. Eating is a whole new experience for me. Incredibly small quantities 4-5 times a day. No food reversal (aka "dumping syndrome with puking") yet, but its been close a couple times. Learning curve is way steep. Love everything about how I am now. Still on CPAP (by choice) for now. Thanks.

  • @rexxcarz Glad to hear that you're doing great! You'll make your Labor day goal!! just stay focused!! You can do it!!!

  • hi mark just re watching your videos, you were the first one i saw and i had never heard of the sleeve but once i heard you i knew that was the only one i could live with. i was denied and appeald and then asked for independent medical reveiw and guess what i won, yeah, my sleeve is scheduled for friday 5/28/10 so thankyou for making these videos, wish me luck you look great, an inspriation to me, :o)

  • Mark - Your vlog is very inspiring to me, as was Amelia's. I am on track for RNY in about 6 weeks, but am leaning toward the sleeve which is why I watched your progress from start to finish. I have been researching surgical wight loss for 2 years, starting the process 5 months ago. I just got tired after 40 years of being a chub (ok, a LARGE chub), so here goes. Did you have to go to a CPAP at night? I love mine!! Thanks again for the inspiration! -Charlie da cop-

  • Thanks for your support Charlie! Amelia is one of my heroes on here, so I'm honored to be mentioned along with her. I should have been on a CPAP, but I just could not handle sleeping with it. Luckily, all breathing, snoring, heart, whatever problems are a thing of the past. Please stay in touch.

  • i sure miss the mark videos...walking in the country...going to the gym. waves~~~~

  • WTG Mark. I finally got to see this vid this morning. Gratz on under 200!!! I can relate. I have not been that weight since HS. Keep up the great work.

  • pls pray for my friend linda. she needs a lot of prayers at this time.

    her youtube acct. name is..."momtooo"

  • Hey Mark! Congrats Love. I have not seen you in MONTHS. you look amazing and now your voice is throwing me off as it goes with the old Mark..lol. I am sooooo happy for you. continued success! happy and safe new year!

  • Hey Mark - for some reason I have stopped getting your alerts - so i looked you up - and WOW - congrats! You look completely different! I have been great - had to have my gall bladder out a month back (apparently a symptom of rapid weight loss) but all good - I have now stabilised at 64.1 kg (141lbs) so I have lost 116llbs.. what schooling r you doing? A new carrer? How is your wife going? Wishing you both happy holidays.. with love from your aussie mate.. debs xox

  • Be happy at 230 and get back some color. My kid still loves ya, though, keep doing whatever makes ya happy, Mark.

  • that's when I really realized that from about 6-8 ago as you have lost weight, you have changed the way you look; and yes you do look not very healthy. Call me vain but I'd rather look full of life and healthy at 230lb than be in one der land and look sick. There should be a balance, life is way too short to be under 200 and be struggling to maintain that.

  • I appreciate your comments. I think my bad color is from the lighting in the room...trust me...if I was sick looking my wife would have told me. its not a struggle to be under 200lbs..and I probably will be above that after I cut the bodyfat and add lean muscle mass. I wish you and your daughter all the best and please continue to watch & comment =)

  • You see my little daughter has also followed you on these videos. And today she saw this and commented on how much you have changed. When I asked her just what she ment. (9 yr) She said you looked sick.

  • First, let me say congrats Mark! I believe that there really should be a balance between being healthy weight and just being obese. Please let me explain before I get bombarded. I am an obese man (300lbs) and you have been my inspiration since you started your journey.

  • Great job Mark! You are a big inspiration to me and thanks for keeping me motivated on Face Book.

  • Im so very happy for you Mark!!! Congrats!

  • CONGRATS on persevering through your stall!!!

how many calories did you bump up to? i am at goal weight but my calories are also too low. i am seeing my non-bariatric nut on Monday to discuss a plan to gradually increase and stop losing weight. according to formulas, i should be taking in 2x as many calories to maintain!

  • right now I'm at approx 1700 calories on training days and about 100 on non training days. just remember to make gradual increases every few weeks and check your weight and bodyfat % before making changes..

  • I am so happy for you Mark.

    Linda

You have earned this success, and we're very happy for you.

  • What a great milestone! You are doing great, and as always you are a great inspiration to me on my journey. I hit the weights after the New Year. The Dr. wanted me to wait about 3 months before I start training. Have a Blessed Christmas and continued success in the New Year to you!
