  • @MrMrJETS Thanks for commenting! You were here on Long Island?

  • @insectivore2 Yeah I remember you saying this will be posted on youtube as BWQ. It was really fun hatching

  • You might try purchasing quail from a breeder in northern latitudes, such as Pennsylvania, Michagan, Iowa, etc... those will be Northern Bobwhite Quail and have a higher tolerance for harsh winters.

  • I think some good marketing could really help. Surely there must be a way to get the word out through the state park system?

  • Watched your video after witnessing the release last week at Caleb Smith State Park. Just curious, are there similar programs at other state parks in the region? This could seriously help with the tic problem on the east end of long island. Nancy Petschauer

  • This is the only conservation project that I am aware of... although I am interested in making this a "program" model... just need volunteer help, marketing, and lots of funding! I agree... this, and other restorative conservation projects, could revitalize our ecosystem thereby helping our own human species.

  • These quail are not located in the west coast at all? Are people allowed to raise them and release them for the parks dept?

  • The west coast has their own species of quail... California Quail, Gambles Quail, and Montezuma Quail. Anyone can raise and release them! Hunters have been doing so for YEARS!

  • fantastic!
