He was the biggest bad villain in WWF time - but i know that he was such a nice guy. When I was 11, I saw him when WWF came to Vancouver - got his autograph and took a picture with him. Such a nice guy I remember - hope I kept the picture and autograph. Rest in Peace.

Andre died because he had acromegaly... Acromegaly grows the body and the hormons in age 25 and more, Now big show has giantistm.

The Big Show suffers from Acromegaly, EXACTLY the same as Andre! It forms at puberty, and is usually not diagnosed till later. Most don't live past middle age.

still...Andre was quite big at birth and as a kid he was unusually big..not only tall but massive..once the top in length is reached the body can only grow wider..look at his huge head , it is as big as a normal persons rump. the big show ha sless prominent features yet.smaller hands and head..this disease has many features and styles...however impressive big show may look..it is nothing compared with Andre.

The Big Show had surgery on his pitutary gland to halt the process of Acromegaly. Andre was not diagnosed until his 20's and chose not to treat it. You are incorrect about Andre's size, when he was a young child, there was no indication that he would be a giant. He did not start showing signs of massive growth until puberty and by 17, he was 6'7". According to A&E, his grandfather was close to or over 7'. Also Giant Gonzales has Acromegaly and he is in a wheelchair like Andre was near the end.

as for andre, as you will know his grandfsther from father side was a giant, over 7 foot taal and big.. andre was 6 foot when 11...tha tis quite big, furthermore he was not just tall, but big, so 6 foot and huge...can you imagine a 12 year old as big as a grown man? sure 6'7 at 17 is not that particular nowadays, a tleast not in netherlands here..but a regular 6'7 weights maybe 200 pounds at 17 where Andre was 270.

Yes. Hasbro made one, and there were a couple put out in the 80's and The WWF/E put out a couple different ones in the last 10 years or so

. One was in a series called "Best Of The Classic Superstars". There is also a combo available with Andre and The Big Show and Andre/Hogan.

If you are looking for one, Amazon and Ebay are pretty good places to start. Of course, you can't have mine! ;)

Andre died of heart failure in Paris. He was there for his father's funeral. He went to sleep that night and did not wake up.

The strain of his Acromegaly caught up with him and his heart could not handle pumping the amount of blood in a body that size.

Andre had some film appearances - most notably as Fezzik the Gentle Giant in The Princess Bride. He also played Dagoth(uncredited)in Conan the Destroyer, as well as a circus giant in Trading Mom(released the year after he died).He was also Bigfoot in the tv movie Secret of Bigfoot.

He had numerous tv roles as well - BJ and the Bear, Fall Guy, Zorro, Greatest American Hero, and others. A&E did his BIO. The WWE created the Hall of Fame for Andre -he was the first inductee 1year after he died.
