  • Very Boring, why is this on you tube??

  • why is this not a responce video to the guy who skied down this?

  • Has this been audio swapped? When I search Tv on radio - wolf like me, I get a totally different song!....

  • I bet there be no Sitting on esculator signs next as many of us has sat on the esculator. Its a good long ride to sit on.

  • @MrUNIXman put the stickers right on the side of the wall where you'd see it while riding down it haha

  • Zero stars

  • hahaha brilliant Lee, so funny. I bet some jobsworth was fuming, thinking "why didn't I think of that?!"

I think there should be a special 'ski lane' on all underground escalators, like they have wide gates for fat bastards.

Do you reckon anyone will ever have the balls to try it on a snowboard?

  • What a fucking waste of time this video is. How boring are you guys, seriously?

  • Wait..So is snowboarding down it alright?

  • y film this!!

  • @RosieLottieGeorgia CUuuuuuuuuuuuuz there was a norwegian skiing down this escalator!

  • haha this is kinda funny as the video i just watched befor was some guy ski-ing down it!!

  • Notice those fixed metal protrusions at intervals every few metres on those beautifully polished stainless steel partition slopes/slides.

Rumour has it, that in ancient times, long before gutless Health & Safety Executives, it was possible to enjoy the longest, fastest slides in the world !

  • @guthywoodry you can go down on your side if you're a skinny fuck. saw someone do it lol

  • London Underground should be putting these stickers up, not the responsible public. Skiing down escalators is very dangerous. Someone could get hurt!

  • @67mcalpin well a problem with that is if you bring it to people's attention that they COULD ski down it you put the idea into the heads of people who had never thought to do it before. It's like publicizing suicides at famous jumping spots, the more attention you bring to it the more people say "oh I hadn't thought to do that"

  • ur sooooooo badass.

  • Haha like it. I wonder how long it took them to realise and take them down. People are always putting up stickers in the tube. Makes the boring journey to work more interesting.

  • Who the fuck cares, tips247

  • @Tips247 -whoa look out! youtube police....

  • Wow this is so freaking extreme!! Watch out the police don't catch you doing such an EXTREME and dangerous "stunt", you silly chavs.

  • The guy is putting up signs because being the longest escalator on the Underground network, dumb asses film themselves skiing down. Either way none of them are remotely funny.

  • ha brilliant!

  • Gotta love youtube. I don't think you understand that it was about making fun of the people who put signs up everywhere telling us what to do. Why is this site filled with such cynical people. Lighten up. No wonder everyone's going to vimeo.

  • Dear LeeWashing.,

    Yes, very cheery.

    .

    Dear uni.,

Risk of prosecution by Transport Police, resulting in criminal record, rather than Guness Book of World Record.

    .

Also banned for life, from entering railway property -monitored by face recognition cameras; a bit of a bore in downtown London as the Tube is so handy.

    cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • wow arent you bad!

  • really stupid

  • wow aren't you guys cool?

  • We cleaners have to get them off during the same time allocated for general cleaning of the escalator, platform area and ticket hall.

    .

  • @MoilAndToil HEY CLEANER IM A GRAFFITI WRITER AND I GOT TO SAY WE GIVE YOU MONEY! WE GOT YOU THAT JOB!!!

  • @MoilAndToil don't remove them... they are a very imporant safety note!

  • Thanks for that. I think we need more signs like these. Next a no short skirt sign! You guys are nuts!

  • wow, aren't you a hardman?

  • dude!!! you have to much time:P if you do this kind of stuff and then afterwards films it:D lol

  • is this supposed to be funny?

  • it would be soo fun to slide down that on soap shoes.

  • lol yeah but then the little signs that stick out saying stand on the right would trip you then your kinda gona fall

  • LOL that is brilliant, but only if you know what its getting at, you should have linked to the skiing vid. Did they last?

  • LOL! Awesome XD

  • i love your cartoons and illustrations

  • they put those their as a joke because peter olnick skied down it in mind the gap

  • that wasn't peter.

  • yah it was

  • yeah, i know peter. and that wasn't peter. it was john spelman, the guy who made the movie. peter's section just follows it.

  • my bad

  • they only put those there cause someone skied that for mind the gap and the security was like chasing him

  • wat da hell

  • TV On the Radio - Wolf Like Me from the album Return to Cookie Mountain..

  • It's TV On The Radio. The song is called "Wolf Like Me." They are from New York. Don't post an answer if you don't know it.

  • It TV on the Radio...

  • Not Blonde Redhead. It's Arcade Fire, a band from Montreal.

  • this is not arcade fire...

  • is the music blonde redheads?

  • Why would they put those stickers on an escalator? Isn't skiing the intended purpose of escalators? Thats like a basketball court having signs that say "no dribbling".

  • exactly.

  • search Ski escalotor!

  • hey that means we can snowboard down the escalater now!

  • Now your thinking

  • theres another vid were a guy skis down the same escalator.

  • ....that was the reason why they done this dumbass

  • I meant to reply to another persons comment that said "why would there be no skiing stickers on an escalator?

You don't need to shit a brick about simple mistakes.

  • Without people shitting bricks, the world would be a more fucked up place than it already is.

  • @a19r90m

they already did some skiing down that escalator

  • Is this the longest escalator in the world? Looks long!

  • The longest in the world is Park Pobedi Metro station in Moscow which is 126m long and over double the length of this one at Angel in London.

I've been on the one in Moscow and it takes over 3 minutes to get from top to bottom. Russians tend to use this time to either read a book or make out with each other.

  • catamongthepigeons6: Wow, & Ha ha ha!!! Wow again: That's about 390ft!!! Is it ski-able??? And has anyone tried it? I'd love to see that!!! I think that Russians would be more apt to prefer reading Pushkin's poetry, or War & Peace, on the ride up or down ... In any case, someone should video the ride ... all 3+ minutes.

  • I now live in St Pete and most of the ones here are almost as deep and you have to figure in the extra 5 or 6 minutes into any journey you plan. Believe me a video of it would not only be boring but might get you arrested and have your tape confiscated. In spite of the fact that the Soviet Union is long gone there are still some strange rules in place including the one about not using cameras on the Metro. If you want me to try it'll have to be an under the coat job.

  • Please, do NOT take such a risk!!! Very nice of you to offer, but no — please do not try this! Not even an "under the coat" job!

  • Hey it really isn't that bad. I was kind of exaggerating for effect I have filmed on the Metro before and been fine.

  • Well then, tovarisch, go ahead on, and and let's see some of these interminably long escalators! I certainly do not find anything like that boring. I'm a train and metro freak anyway! Thanks! Let me know when you succeed, and post a video!

  • When i read the title of this, I thought the government had actually done it...

  • LOL

  • LOL

  • Oh yeah! I love doing that.

  • enginedave is a silly boy

  • enginedave is very very stupid.

  • No because someone skied down the esculator, so they put them up so no one else would, not that would stop them doing it.

  • I'm not sure if you understand. The action is actually to mock the nanny state that we live in. A society where warning signs are applied to everything, even to stop people skiing down escalators!

  • Yeah, this is good British humour

  • I hate the fact you've helped the nanny state

  • Did you see the video of someone actually skiing down at Angel? Was that the inspiration?

    ~Ra'akone

  • No, they pulled it out of their ass and decided to do this without ever watching the video associated with it.

  • LOL

  • Yeah it was.

  • are you fucking retarted.

"we thought we would add to the fun with no skiing stickers"

  • LOL

  • thanks! i won't ski down it now.... i'll skateboard!!!

  • tv on the radio w00t

  • Hey buddy.why you've made stickers with a normal skier...i think youso, for the next time: haven't looked good on the ski video, because the skier was/is a freeskier and haven't normal skis.Freeskiers aren't normal skiers!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah freeskiers represent.

  • I designed them in Adobe Illustrator and then printed them onto stickers. I've got a website at with some of my other stuff, just google Lee Washington.

  • brilliant lol, How do you make them? w/b

  • It's called Wolf Like Me by a band called TV on the radio

  • whos this tune by????

  • but skiing down them is just so amusing to watch

  • ha ha ha, great response to safety

  • ROFL,(but its boring to just stand on the escalators, so why not do something different i.e. ski down em)

  • Damn, you msut be so COOL!!!!11!(one)!!

  • Nice one ninjaboy!

  • It's called Wolf Like Me by a band called TV on the radio

  • Good tune. What is it?

  • ha ha ha!!

stupid! ski where ever you want guys....

  • hahahah , its true a Norwegian skiied down it

  • Is it really needed? I can get the humour... but Vandalising the Tube? how very dare you!

  • what song is this???

  • Artist=The Monkey Wrenches. Song=Awesomeness.

  • Detournement!

    Ace!

  • To be honest I'd have to agree too! I wasn't so good at being stealth anyway. What u do have to remember though is that there's a lot of CCTV on th tube, so didn't want to be too blatant.

  • Well done, I think its BRILL!!!

although I'd have to agree with shanebruce

  • why are you trying so hard to stealth it? who gives a shit.

  • Because defacing the underground is a crime and if you get banned from the underground in London that means you are pretty much screwed for getting around so stealth was the obvious option.

  • ha ha ha ha ha

  • LOL YOU NEED A LIFE

  • HA! you have guts M8! cool stuff. :O

  • I like your cartoons-they're funny :)

  • how caring =D

  • how funny............................NOT!

  • besides, i think the London tube would rather worry about peeling stickers off the escalators then being sued for someone breaking their neck while escalator-skiing. :P

  • i loved it!

    great job.

  • lmao

    kudos

    =P

  • Looks like the stickers have been taken off, I haven't seen those stickers b4 at Angel Station when I go to school LOL!

  • your such rebels !

  • thank god u put them there, people like me might have thought that was a ski run... ur my hero :P

  • twocrabs: Your obviously american and have no sense of humour!

  • ...

  • twocrabs: Your obviously american and have no sense of humour!

  • Vandals. At least the original skiier wasn't a litter bug.

  • pretty lame

  • Cool action!

  • hehe

  • It's in response to the guy who skiied down the escalator. I thought it would be funny if Transport for London actually put stickers to say no skiing.

  • dont get it, what is the point?

  • The song is Wolf Like Me by TV on the Radio. It's a good'un

  • What band is that?

  • Are they still there?

  • Loving it Lee, although I would have enjoyed you trying to ski down it more! Looking forward to the next one.

  • i love it! x

  • lovely idea
