  • servos are no good

  • Thanks - I know the engine is made in China, likely the air frame made there as well.

Damn shame we can't even build a domestic model air plane and compete in the market place, politicians sold us out. (I was a manufacturing engineer long ago)

  • I will be picking one of these up end of month. Curious - Does anyone know where ther are manufactured. (didn't see that mentioned on their web site) Thanks

  • @1Skeptik1 Illinois

  • @1Skeptik1 most likely china. seriously i think on the box it says made in china

  • I wouldn't call it a trainer, start with the Alpha 40 first.

  • @crazyRCplane I have both the Alpha 40 and this plane. There is no way anyone could start from scratch with this p-51

  • @crazyRCplane very true i agree. a traditional trainer is always best. this p-51 is great once you take all the shit off of it like the droops, preset flaps, and change the prop for a two blade 11x6

  • Where can I buy this and is it gas or electric

  • what is the scale of the plane?

  • AirAge..Just wanted to say great plane Im building a Mustang.Only thing if it has a red tail Its a tuskegee Airman and he should be a Black Man.

  • It's great for beginners and experts.

It's great for everybody, cause with you don't fly, just hang it on the wall.

Awesome to fly or for room decoration.

  • Wonderfull Plane

  • Ah. Good ole youtube shit talking even on here.

  • @john31682 what kind of noticable difference did the .52 give you, did you have to add tail weight?

  • @phatgonk I put an OS55AX in it and no weight needed.

  • @phatgonk I added just a little tail weight. Going with the Evolution .52 and a 12X6, 2 blade prop made this baby really scoot.

  • @71259mark I got the OS55AX and a 10*8APC. Also I put a MAC's tuned pipe on it. Of course all training crap off and flap servos installed.

  • @jesknow With sufficient power, it's not a bad little plane!

  • @71259mark little?

  • @iceskull11 When I take mine to the field, it's just a "baby" compared to a lot of the other guy's planes. I took out the .45 that comes with the plane and replaced it with an Evolution .52 size Engine. Then I replaced with an Evolution .60NX Engine. It gets noticed !

  • @iceskull11 yah pretty small

  • "And PST stands for Progressive Trainer System"...lol

  • No way you can put this plane together using the manual in 10 min. more like 30 or more.

  • @Jeremybaland I did it in 30, but that includes drying time for the servos i put in for working flaps. It really can go together in 10mins. Then just check the throw rates.

  • this is my first glow plane but i have had glow trucks. one thing i have 3 planes and i can fly them well they are supercub//f27 striker///micro p-51mustang . if i can fly theses does anyone think i could fly this plane i ask because i want a bigger plane and ifi get a trainner ill get board in 2 days but it being as big as it is intemidates me a little you guys think i could fly it im 23 also and been flying bout 2 years

  • @john31682 Absolutely. If you can fly the F27c Stryker, you can fly this plane. It's easy and fun to fly. I put an Evolution .52NX Engine in mine with a 12X6, 2 blade prop, took off the droops, and installed the flap servos. You need a good deal of right rudder on take off as with most tail draggers. Give it full throttle, get it high, back off the throttle a little, and get a feel for your plane. You can do it! It comes with one helluva nice transmitter too.

  • It's a PTS (no PST) ...

    No stress.. ;-)

  • It's a Hangar 9 product, not Hanger 9.

At least learn how to spell the manufacturer's name correctly.

  • @scv405 - and... it's not PST.... but PTS

  • Is it possible to install servoes for the flaps. i wanna use flaps during landing only cost our track is a bit short

  • yes it is possible. In fact included are instructions on how to do it

  • ha pts not ps2!

  • wow,

nice review. very helpful but does it have retracts? ; )

  • i just solo-ed mine it was my fourth flight

  • It is a PTS guy. lol. I learned to fly on the original version. I'm glad they got rid of the speed brakes. You had to fly it at full throttle just to fly stable. Get rid of the 3 blade prop and droops and this thing really performs. Have 5 planes now and it goes to the field with me every time. Love this thing. I CAN'T crash it. lol Yeah I know i'll tell you about it tomorrow.

  • thx man im already buyin this

  • i can't imagine using this plane as a first time trainer. seems like it would be a handful for someone that's completely new

  • well thats why they recommend a instructure to help you out and teach you how to fly the plane im saving for one its not my first plane but its my first glow plane right now im flying a parkzone corsair i'll still fly it but i want to go glow lol

  • Even with an instructor (not "instructure") I still wouldn't recommend it as a first plane. Model companies are constantly trying to market fast, good-looking planes to beginners by adding minor features that make them seem easier to fly. Bottom line is, these features will never make a warbird as stable or slow-flying as a bona fide trainer.

  • me to i fly the pkz corsiar great 4 channel trainer and great scale plane and now i want a glow plane

  • That's where the buddy box system comes into play. However, you are right, It would be a handfull to someone who is new to the hobby. Get a foam trainer like the E-Flite Apprentice or something like that... A MUCH easier way to learn!

  • No Gerry, PST stands for "Provincial Sales Tax" here in Canada. You mean "PTS".

  • awesummn

  • Im saving for one of those cant wait!!!!!!!!!. And the propeller may be nice but its not scale the real p51D had a 4 blade prop

  • im realy glad im getting this plane sounds great 4 a trainner like me

  • I wouldn't recommend it as a first plane. Sure they try to slow it down and make it more stable so you could train on it, but it's still a warbird. Start with a real trainer. This would be better as a second plane rather than as your first trainer.

  • I actually learned to fly with one of these a few years ago, not the Mk II but the first one. and i had so much fun with it, its slow at the beginning with the flaps fixed all the time(which you can upgrade), it glares very well and its easy to land and has a very reliable and easy to use engine

the best part of it is that when you advance to the next level, you dont have to buy another airplane for a while as this acts like a sport plane becoming faster.

From experience I totally recomend it!

  • yea i would say the same you should probably want to start out with hangar 9's alpha 40 trainer. Then when youre done with that get this in an ARF package and install all the components from the trainer on this plane!

  • Nice trainner!

  • Just to correct him:

Its "PTS" not "PST" as he says

  • that 1 is marked up like the Tusegee Airmen.. the possibly the most popular squadrons in WWII it was an all African American squadron

  • Yikes, I think still too much plane for me, but I hope to work up to it one day!

  • Looks very nice!
