I wonder why they lowered those starboard side liftboats and then raised them into place again. Maybe they weren't positioned correctly for ocean-going purposes? Hmmm.

It's great that you record this history for all of us. Who knows when EPIC will be back in NYC? I saw her first hand from the Veendam when we sailed back into NYC on the 4th. She looks more like a floating hotel than any other ship that I've seen.

@cgs878 They had to come off in order for her to dock. I'm told by one of my YouTube contacts who was on her about three weeks ago that word was she will be back here in the future. I haven't read anything myself though. I'm hoping this is true!

yes, that was the hotest week ever. I was up to see the QM2 on July 6. I went to Brooklyn and shot some photos of her at Red Hook. I was then going to my usual perch at the lookout at Ft. Wadsworth on Staten Island, but it was so hot I packed it up and went home. I think my car thermometer registered 108 as I was driving on the NJ turnpike. Still wondering where are the fireboats?

I arrived in on her, went to see her again on the 4th July and then bid a sad farewell on the 5th....gonna miss her but i booked her again to take her next transatlantic voyage back to Europe....can't wait to get on her again.

First to the poster... GREAT VIDEO! Second... RANT ALERT!!! - The ugliest ship I have ever seen. On par with (if not worse than) the original Oriana which, while very weird looking, at least had a sturdy and ship-like shape. I mean I realize it's about revenue these days but even RCCL gave behemouths Oasis and Allure a semi-attractive appearance. But that's simply my opinion. To each his own.
