@nbynike Lmao, absolutely not. It's not even a matter of opinion! Have you tried Civ 4 with the BTS expansion and the Rise of Mankind mod? Try that first. Civ 5 doesn't let you stack units, you have 2 less angles of attack, and less tech, nations, and leaders compared to Civ 4. The only thing that 5 has on 4 is better graphics, but RoM adds much in the way of graphics so Civ 5's graphics is only marginally better than Civ 4. Were you just being satirical? I would like to know how 5 is better...

I have played Rome:Total War,but it is not even in th same league as this,Rome total war is a strategy game,Civilization is an RTS game.Rome total war does has better looks of the fight though,look at the ratings to see which is best.

no other game has full scale nuclear war as good as this one and you can experience the depravity of the aftermath, or your nuke war if its big enough can turn your whole world into a wasteland. u can also have any kind of war u want like medieval or modern or WW1 and 2 style, or you can have peace (boring) but its turn based and symbolic, like your troops are as big as buildings, etc. the battle animations/sounds are awesome tho

Is this a possible strategy? Say there is a resource on the map (oil) and I wanted it for later when my country needed it, but it's to far across the map for me to want to settle there - is it possible if I did "No Open Border" Negogiation and put a massive army around it - that no other countries could cuturally take over that as there borders? Say, rome expanded, could it expand to those tiles with my army sitting there with no open borders?

Just curious if anyone has tried that.

I'm not sure maybe. Although it's possible that as another civilization's culture grows the border will push your units further back.

Yeah, that's what I thought, might happen. One time I was on a land with open-borders and than I declared war and it kicked my army off there tiles. So, I thought maybe, if there were no open borders than it wouldnt allow there borders to expand to where my army was cause that'd put me in violation of the no open borders.

Something we'll have to try, I guess! If it did work it'd be a great way to stop countries early on from taking over important resources to get access to warheads.

Hi I have a few questions. Is this the latest Civ game? If yes, are there anymore in production? Also when you buy the expansions for this game does it just add on to it and change some game play aspects e.g. new characters, more maps, units, better graphics etc. or is it different game that just relies on the orignal being installed?

There are 2 expansions, but to play either one, u need the original. I THINK..i'm not a reliable source of info sometimes xD

I believe the expansions are just typically different game periods in which you need the original to add on. For instance one of them I believe is a revolutionary era, where there are more muskets and stuff like that, rather then ever changing and different weapons through out entire history.

This game is the newest beyond the expansion packs though. It's pretty good. When I first bought it I probably spent a good 5-6 hours on it a night. It was pretty ridiculously addicting!

what i think is 1 minor/major flaw in this game...you can out armys together and have like 20 archers and 10 warriors at the same time, which is good, but you cant make them attack at once, they must go in 3's which is a BIG letdown, but other than that this game kinda owns ...

BTW this is my idea for Civilization V. U can play as the Barbarian Civilization, but its not gonna be a scenario. Second. Civilization is a fantastic game which has much more in depth posibilities then AoE. And the replayability is much better.
